Hi Folks please note this is dedicated towards a starter setup not a fully efficient roof cleaning setup. The biggest upgrades you should spend your money on is on the soft washing side of things, Rutland pumps do an awesome soft washing system that comes highly recommended which is a future investment once the new van is sorted! Hope you enjoy (:
The ladder mate and the microlite are awesome bits of kit i worked for sky tv fitting dishes and they are 2 of the bits they use. I would highly recommend the ladder mate to any one who uses ladders every day
Look forward to seeing your business growth over the next few months, this will be my first full season so its good to get any tips. I love roof cleaning but looking into doing driveway cleaning and patio too. 👍
Another brilliant video Sid 👌 I've been roof cleaning for a while, using a pressure washer with a flat surface cleaner and been planning moving to scrape and biocide for a few. Your videos have been extremely helpful. Thanks 👍
Good stuff mark I’m glad I can help 👍 harness wise I would recommend heading to arco.co.uk and searching in their fall arrest kit section. Anything on there is good stuff
Hi mate thanks for the video with the 3m mask you can get clips and pre filters (p3) for the mask to prolong the life of the filter just change the pre filters 5 to 1 set of main filters 👍 keep up the good work.
Cheers for the tip on the sealed bag for the mask.. will be doing that to extend the life. I think I’ve had my filters around 2-3 weeks and been great for Carpet chems and Hypo so far. Haven’t used any bio to test them, crazy how much kit you own being an exterior cleaner!
Hi Sid, the fall arrest lanyard would do you no good, you need a 1 metre fall restraint, you would hit the floor before the fall arrest activated. Great videos by the way.
Oh really? It’s mainly for roof ladder work and this one was recommended to me. Hopefully I never have to find out but I’ll look at getting a 1m one instead thank you for that!
Brilliant Sid, another detailed packed video, you could be a roof cleaning equipment salesman 🤣👍🏼 Really looking forward to see you new softwash kit, is it from Rutland Pumps? I’ve been on a big clean last two days and my new Marshall Pro kit arrived today ready for two monster cleans I’ve got booked for next three days so I’ll be putting it to the test. Going to start my own channel at some point once I can think of something you haven’t! 🤪👍🏼
cheers mate! yeah it'll be a bit of a longer wait for that as im getting a van sorted first! ah awesome let me know how you find it! and haha good man i look forward to the vids
Great video Sid👍I love the basic tesco black heavy duty gloves. Your filters should last you 3 months with daily use. Otherwise your throwing money away
I thought you can get away with it for a while but I’ve heard conflicting thoughts so I’d rather be safe than sorry, never know until it’s too late! The jobs are priced so well anyway so it’s genuinely no bother for me. Thank you mate 👍
Hi sid where can I get the ladder step from… and also the metal attachments for the scrapper to fit my poles as I keep braking the plastic ones thanks 🙏 and the channel is brilliant keep up the good work 😉
Do you agree with pressure washing roofs.watched a few now and some people are for it and some against.new subscriber and I’ve watched 3 or your videos so far.saw the one about your anxiety.keep the mind active mate.all the best to you .great videos 👍🏼
Hi mate I agree with it in some roofs in some instances, I think if done properly and correct aftercare is taken then it is a fine way to clean a roof. However with steam cleaning getting more popular I think it may be more worth while to steam rather than pressure as it’s much lower pressure hitting the roof. For now I’m happy to scrape and bio but in future I will upgrade some jobs to steam and bio. Cheers for subscribing and watching mate 😜
Do you just have 1 backpack for the chemicals? Or a separate one for washing gutters? I can only afford 1 wfp atm so will have to make do with change between using chemicals and attaching scrappers not ideal 🤦🏻♂️
I only use 1 backpack for each chemical but I use a watering can for hypo on driveways. If you rinse out extremely thoroughly it’ll be fine just be careful! And yeah I used to switch out the same pole it was quite annoying :D just every time you complete a job, reinvest some of it into a new thing, that’s all I do :)
Hi Sid, loving your channel mate👍 I’ve got a really old house to price and clean with a lot of wall hung tiles ( exterior) just wondered if you’ve ever cleaned these and how you do it?? Would you use hypo?? Really would appreciate your advise
Hi mate, I must admit I haven't cleaned those vertical tiles before, however i would steam clean those or pressure wash as they are not a barrier into the house as there will be some brick behind it most likely. (Double check as im not completely sure) I'd probably pressure wash i'd start low, see how theyre coming up and adjust pressure if needed. I'm not an expert on that sort of thing though so you may want to double check on a pressure washing / soft washing forum just incase I'm giving horrible advice! And thanks for the support appreciate it!
Ok thanks mate .. I hadn’t thought of pressure washing them! I’ve had a rough measure up and there is at least 180m2 of roof and at least 150m2 of wall tiles.. I’ve only done one small roof before so struggling to price it.. I’m thinking around £2.5k?? Does that sound a fair price to you?? Thanks for your help and keep up the good work mate.
@@charliealder4794 Yeah me personally I don't pressure wash roofs but if done correctly it's fine. The main reason I don't do it is working alone there's no one to man the machine so id rather clean roofs a solo way (: Yeah that price sounds fine mate, sounds like you'd be there half the week ish or more so all in all even if it takes a week it's still a good wage! If you needed a more accurate price you can message me the address and i'll have a look on google and let you know my thoughts. Cheers mate!
@@PartridgeExteriorCleaning thanks so much for your help Sid, I know the house but not the address ! I will try and get it if you don’t mind having a look
I seemed to be blocked from leaving comments on your videos, I just wanted to say I bought the original ladder microlite recently and there a great bit of kit.
Hi Mate I was getting notifications for them, youtube is bugging out like mad at the moment there's tons of spam comments. Yeah im gonna order a microlite asap!
@@PartridgeExteriorCleaning Might be better not to post links from now on, if your are thinking of buying a ladder microlite buy the original as the patent has expired on the original ladder microlite and other suppliers have copied the microlite and are selling them as well.
Hi Sid have you tried out any of the other scraper brands? Marshall, Benz, Skyvac? Are the similar products made by the same manufacturer and just rebranded. Any thoughts? Thanks as always, Paudie
Hi mate I haven't used any of them personally, I know people that have that said they're fine, others said the blades are too small or don't match up but I couldn't comment on it myself. Would be happy to try them out and see if there's any extra benefits if I get a chance but it's pointless me spending money on them when I've got two of these flexi's and all the blades. Thanks for the comment mate, hope you're doing well (:
Hi mate I’ve definitely seen and heard about them but havnt used them so I can’t give you any advice on it really, I own a different brand so there’s been no reason for me to switch as they all do the same job really.
I’ve been roofing for 21 years never have I seen moss compromise a roof block gutters yes destroy concrete or clay tiles or slate definitely not is biocide safe for rivers and the sea I personally just use a broom when a customer wants rid of moss

mi tower is the only way for me i use roof ladder also but deffo wouldnt be working off a ladder all dauy
Wat kind of battery do u use to pump water 4 window cleaning

can i use SH over biocide?
does this make the tiles porous
