I had a traveller knock on my back door asking if I wanted the guttering cleaning.... I know, I know... that's what the roof was supposed to look like and it's better for the roof to be cleaned and it's a great color change... But I like the look of the greyish, slightly mossy roof from before better^^
I think the owner didn’t mind the color which is why they never had it cleaned before… I happen to agree with you. I also question how long before it goes back to dark…
Yeah. I was wondering, why would you clean the roof? It looks fine. Is the lichen dangerous? Do the tiles rot or decompose? Iam not very knowledgeable about roof cleaning, as you can probably gather and have never seen it done before.

An excellent professional job with the roof looking like new. I wouldn't be surprised if the next door neighbours didn't get you back to power wash their roof.
Its interesting to me how common semi detached homes are in Britain. Here in the US, they are called duplexes, and are very uncommon in most parts of the country for middle class folks. I learn so much watching videos!😊
@@johnballe considering we can only grow enough food for 50% of our population but we had streets for of semi detached and terrace houses long before that. It's only since we started letting so many boat people in.
Im sat here watching this and I'm totally amazed at the finish! Think my roof could do with the same work, only thing I'm worried about is if cement or iles come away. Oh and in West Wickham finding someone as caring and professional as you are. Awesome work Sir👍🏻 That music was so nice too!
In the US we would establish an attachment point at the ridge and use harnesses and ropes to stand on the roof and spray it down from the top. It's a lot of work because you have to remove tiles to set boards horizontally to use as foot holds, every 4 foot (a little over a meter) then remove tiles for the set point, then re-place (that's re... place, hopefully not replace) them and clean those tiles. Some contractors may use your system, but I've never seen those power washer extentions that long before in the US... but I was never part of a true for a dedicated exterior washing service, rather I was part of a crew for a demolition and remodeling crew that offered exterior washing has one of our services, so there's that too, but we did power wash two tile roofs while I was there (two years)... and probably about 20 shingled roofs.
I'm surprised that the other person on the other side didn't come out and ask you how much you charged (Unless they were at work or something). What a change! In Arizona where I live you often see clay tile roofs, but as it doesn't rain or snow much were I live is doesn't normally get like this.
i dont imagine the neighbours are gonna complain if you did a tile or two over to their side but its good proffessionalism to only do your clients side

Hi, looks absolutely mint now 👌 I’ve seen so many comments on other videos stating that roof tiles shouldn’t be pressure washed as it damages the surface & blows cement out from the ridges etc…. Can you give your opinion on this if you’ve got time? Is it a case of some tiles are ok whilst others aren’t? I’m genuinely confused as to what’s right or wrong. Thanks
Class job Nick. Hope your feeling better. Nice to show the clean up and putting away all the equipment etc. That all takes time and effort. It's no joke the roof work. Cheers fella.😊

Excellent work. Though it's always gunna bug me to leave half the roof unfinished. Ever thought about contacting the neighbor and asking if they'd be interested in getting their half done as well? Maybe offer a discount to both houses if they agree?
I have pressure cleaned tile roofs in Florida for a painter & he should have know I wasn't the right person for this job as I am 6'3" & weigh 280lbs. You are good. You are thorough. I know here in the states, most communities require permits to solicit. And most solicitors won’t get one. So the first question we ask is do you have a permit to solicit? Then inevitably people will post their pics in the neighbors part of Ring network. Shuts that stuff down fast. I feel for your customer. I’m elderly and live alone and I hate strangers coming to the door.
That was a LOT of hard work that the client apparently wasn't planning on having done. It's too bad the guys who cleaned that patch, which forced her to have the whole roof done, weren't liable to pay for it. She must be thrilled with the end result though!
I think she can sue em for defacing her property, and ask to be reimbursed for the cost of fixing the 'damage', but it would probably be too much of a hassle. Not to mention, there is no guarantee she will ever see any money from the kind of people who did this to her roof even if she won. It might just turn into a massive waste of time and money with no return...
@@N0xiety The problem is they didn't deface her property, they will simply argue they cleaned it Defacing generally means adding to the appearance, seems like a grey area to me
@@deepmystic6739 I mean, you can draw a dick figure with a pressure washer on someone's roof, and technically claim you are only cleaning too. But if law takes intent into question and differentiates between the dic figure and the perfect square patch, then wouldn't you be able to just go to someone's house, paint a small patch of the wall to show how good the colour looks, and try to make them pay you to paint the rest of the house? Would intent taken into account then? Would that not be defacing? And if it is, what's the difference between painting a small patch and 'cleaning' a small patch? How about sand blasting a small section of the wall to 'clean' the dirty paint then? All of these actions altered the appearance of the structure, and ultimately needs money to be 'fixed'. Idk if law takes such technicalities into question, but if it does, kinda ridiculous tbh. At the end of the day some form of damage has been done, which requires fixing, whether you call it 'cleaning' or not should be irrelevant. But yea, i know that sometimes law can have such grey area loopholes, no idea if this is really one of those tho.
Nick I've said b4 mate if u get stuck shout me up. I've got a 50ft phantom, were in the same area and seem to have the same ethos of how we do things etc so always happy to help each other out
I tucker poled a big 5 story office park building in a long day... It was with one of the old aluminum ones, not the newer carbon fiber ones and the top floor needed a 12 ft addon extension. And I thought that job was brutal... Working a 30 ft pole over a roof on a scaffold would be so much more brutal... nice work.
A major reason I would not like living in a town house set up. The smart thing is for homeowners to cooperate and get the whole roof done in one shot by the same company/person.
These dodgy flyby nighters are what makes real professionals jobs harder. I bet they will be laughing on the other side of their faces when next they drive by and see someone else got the job. I am amazed how well you can control the long pole with the pressure nozzle at the end. Great job.

Some companies still knock on your door because they know some people forget stuff, even if there is a sign. So instead of waiting for that person to remember that they needed the roof cleaned and contact a random person, they hope to get the job. But then there are people that are too in need of money and will use any methods to get a job/money.
I had a traveller knock on my back door asking if I wanted the guttering cleaning.... I was upstairs and when I came down I caught him with his face up against the glass panel in the door trying to see if he could see anything inside... It took me nearly half an hour to get rid of him. I will try the rented house reply if they ever come back.
@@jamesbeckwith3639 I’m a renter. Cleaning gutters tends to be a job for the tenant. So not the best excuse to use lol.
I've no idea why I clicked on this video but it was so satisfying to watch 😂
Glad you caught the signs of a weak roof repair. That certainly was a spectacular color change. You happened to bring up a side-view, which is that keeping an elders property clean helps prevent bullying, whether from scorn, fines, labor trickery, deterioration of a home or neighborhood, etc. Always enjoy your quality and thoughtful work. That is such a nice transformation. Looked like there are more roofs needing doing nearby. Hope the sight of your "miracle" nudges some others to call.
Had some from our Traveling community try this on me. Guy power washed a small section of my drive and rang the door bell to get me to pay him to clean the rest. Little did he know that I couldn't give a monkeys what my drive looks like. So much fun telling him no.
Tell them the house is a rental property. They won’t come back.
You are polite! PIKEYS!
they love their power hoses
Shame on those who tried to pressure your client into a sale, that is crappy of them. You did a fantastic job!
So nice of you, thanks ☺️

Вы просто герой! Я счастлива , что в этом мире есть такие люди как вы! Храни вас Господь! ❤️❤️❤️🙏👍
Beautifully done, though I’m terribly sorry your client went through that.
That looks right nice!
I wonder if the neighbor's in the other half of the building will now decide they want their roof cleaned too?
Fantastic job, hopefully the adjoining neighbor called you to do their roof as well. Either way very satisfying to watch.
I must say the roof looks so much better. Living here in Texas we don't keep our roofs long enough for anything to grow on them because of the massive hail storms that we have here during the spring. Great job sir. 🤠👍
I actually sorta liked the dirt/patina on the tiles.. it matched the copper gutters. 🤷♂️
I have been up on old metal roofs and I think to they get too hot for any growth.
Why not get kevlar roof tiles?
@@nczioox1116 because the insurance companies won’t pay for that and they will pay for new asphalt composite shingles. We could move to class 4 shingles to help stop physical damage with hail up to about 2.5”, however if you get hailed on while structurally the shingles are fine they look like someone with a hammer went up and beat up your roof. They won’t pay to fix aesthetic issues. So you get to be that house that looks like the moon. lol. We have little over 12,500 sq feet of roof area and with 12/12 and 18/12 steep pitched roofs it’s really expensive to replace. I would love to put metal roof on but the HOA won’t allow it.
I know, I know... that's what the roof was supposed to look like and it's better for the roof to be cleaned and it's a great color change... But I like the look of the greyish, slightly mossy roof from before better^^
I think the owner didn’t mind the color which is why they never had it cleaned before…
I happen to agree with you.
Yeah I know of a lot of dodgy so called roofers and cleaning people that have done this kind of thuggery and worse to get jobs and bully people into things they didn’t ask for. Makes it harder for the real workers and law abiding citizens that just want to earn a decent living.
My arms are aching for you! The result is amazing, night and day. 💜💜💜
It'll certainly keep you fit this roof cleaning game 😄. Thanks for the great comment Anita ❤️
What a different! It’s a shame the neighbors don’t get together and do their roofs at the same time. You’d probably give them each a discount!
I never get tired of watching your videos and you always do a super job!!!
Aw thanks Alina, you're so lovely ❤️
Commendable job! We need more conscientious workers like you!
Wow scaffolding is way cool. Thanks for showing us.
If someone came on to my property uninvited and was meaning to do a test patch cleaning I would be willing to bet money I could get them to leave in record time. You should have seen me get rid of a Kirby salesman. He wanted nothing more than to get away from me.
I can't believe that I watched this but thank god I did!. That transformation of the roof was incredible to see.
Well done!!👍
Many thanks for watching 👍

I absolutely do not know how you do this and I absolutely do not know how you do it so precisely perfect. You are an absolute genious. Wow, I am so impressed.
What a lovely comment, thanks so much Deborah 😍
I just read the back story you added for this video, and WOW! So glad you were able to help ease her mind by doing this without incident. I will never understand how some ppl can be so shady.. Distracting some poor woman while the other messes around the back w/o permission😡 Homie would have met his maker if that were my house, well more like my 3 Rottweiler's house😂😂 That roof turned out amazing, so great job! Much love from California🤙🏼❤
Wow looks amazing when you are done! Glad you are there to do such fine honest work!
I would have asked told the neighbors you were cleaning this part of the roof and asked if they would be interested in having theirs done at the same time. Having to come back and setup again is a lot more work.
Plus then they wouldn’t need to be influenced by a patch test being done on their own roof, they can just check his work by looking next door.
@@nopenope9118 this almost is like a test patch lol going to make their side look awful . At least before you can pretend that’s just the color. Now you can’t
Excellent job👍 good to see someone have pride in their work
Thanks so much Mike 👍
Great job. I hope the neighbours like your work and hire you for their side too.
I had this happen too, i told them they could do as they pleased but I wasn't interested in their service and wasn't going to hire nor was i going to pay them. They left... It's a scam to get people annoyed by the patch in hopes of being able to charge a ridiculous amount of money in the hopes the homeowner gives in out of annoyance.
You did a nice job btw👍
Great job, im a window cleaner in the UK and considering offering roof cleaning services in my area as there is a huge demand. The only think i really need is a scalfolding tower, great to see and learn from the best.
Wish you well, be as healthy as you can be , squeeze out all the love in this precious time we have on earth. Blessings in every day mate from UK
Thanks so much 😍
If someone did that test patch on my roof without my consent, I definitely wouldn’t employ them no matter how cheap! I’d also explore legal advice in an effort to sue them for having to get the whole job done seeing as they unlawfully defaced my property in the first place! Mongrels!
Nice job and great ethics Nick ❤ 😊
"Oh yeah sure, Ill let you do this. Just give me the info of your company!"
I love pressure washing. It's truly magical discovering how vibrant the surface is meant to be.
I really dispise those bully trades guys! All they want to do is shoddy work and extort way too much for it ! You are doing a great job reinstating faith with the clients ,❤
Came out lovely in the end mate, cracking job! Nice to see you show some of the challenges & clean up too. Hope all is well buddy!👍👍
Hey Richard, cheers mate. Yeah I took some advice from @PartridgeExteriorCleaning suggesting I should show more of exactly that, the hardships of the job, rather than show it all looking smooth sailing. It was good advice, and will be doing more of it. Nice one Rich, i hope you're well too bud ❤️

Everyone loves a visit from Pikeys. Surprised they didn't offer a roll or tarmac for the drive whilst they were there.
Glad the owner had the courage to stand up to them. Very satisfying result all round.

My shoulders and neck hurt just watching you doing this. You must be very strong.

We have a lot more terrace houses.
Semi detached houses are for the slightly better off. Detached houses are for the definitely better off.

Im sat here watching this and I'm totally amazed at the finish! Think my roof could do with the same work, only thing I'm worried about is if cement or iles come away. Oh and in West Wickham finding someone as caring and professional as you are. Awesome work Sir👍🏻 That music was so nice too!
Don't. If not done correctly the roof will be damaged
just 20 minutes for cleaning the whole roof. that was fast! amazing good work :)
Some contractors may use your system, but I've never seen those power washer extentions that long before in the US... but I was never part of a true for a dedicated exterior washing service, rather I was part of a crew for a demolition and remodeling crew that offered exterior washing has one of our services, so there's that too, but we did power wash two tile roofs while I was there (two years)... and probably about 20 shingled roofs.
glad to see you are back at it Nick, lovely job as always
Hey Jacqueline, many thanks ❤️
Thanks! Have a pint!
That’s super kind of you Matthias, thank you so much ☺️
I'm surprised that the other person on the other side didn't come out and ask you how much you charged (Unless they were at work or something). What a change! In Arizona where I live you often see clay tile roofs, but as it doesn't rain or snow much were I live is doesn't normally get like this.
Great job! Thank you! You're a good person.
i dont imagine the neighbours are gonna complain if you did a tile or two over to their side but its good proffessionalism to only do your clients side
That scaffolding rig of yours is badass, never seen one of those setups before.
Love that glass addition on the back of the house !

it’s a great way for him to get their business though? I presume/hope he gives them his business card and a quote !
Looks like a brand new roof. Fantastic job.
This is my first time seeing this kind of cleaning video, but knowing next to nothing about this I was surprised to see you use an extended pole rather than harnessing onto the roof and clean it from there!
Hi, looks absolutely mint now 👌
I’ve seen so many comments on other videos stating that roof tiles shouldn’t be pressure washed as it damages the surface & blows cement out from the ridges etc….
Hey Paudie, thanks mate, yeah feeling much better, although been on another roof clean today, and think i've pulled a muscle in my arm 😞. Getting to old for this now i think 😄
Excellent work. Though it's always gunna bug me to leave half the roof unfinished. Ever thought about contacting the neighbor and asking if they'd be interested in getting their half done as well? Maybe offer a discount to both houses if they agree?
Yeah lol that’s just awful. Makes BOTH sides stand out now.
Also, why didn’t the grifters do a patch on both? LOL or a patch right in the center line
I'm certainly glad this lady didn't fall for the *high pressure* sales pitch!
Wow! Excellent outcome.
I have pressure cleaned tile roofs in Florida for a painter & he should have know I wasn't the right person for this job as I am 6'3" & weigh 280lbs. I tried so hard not to crack tiles but it was a losing battle. I had no idea this kind of pressure washing was out there where you do it from scaffold. Thanks for this information.

when I was younger I briefly worked for a carpet cleaning company and they would do "test" patches int eh middle of every room of the house to show the difference betweent eh normal clean and the special one, problem is the price difference is 30 bucks a room vs 500+ per room and now they have unmatched patches on all their carpets

Wowww Great job, Congratulations 👏👏. Blessings to you and your family stay safe and well 🏡🥰💤
You are good.
@@N0xiety I'm glad she went with someone else & the didn't see any of her money.
@@N0xiety The problem is they didn't deface her property, they will simply argue they cleaned it
Defacing generally means adding to the appearance, seems like a grey area to me
@@deepmystic6739 I mean, you can draw a dick figure with a pressure washer on someone's roof, and technically claim you are only cleaning too.
No shit, its vandalism, she shouldve called the cops right away
Nick I've said b4 mate if u get stuck shout me up. I've got a 50ft phantom, were in the same area and seem to have the same ethos of how we do things etc so always happy to help each other out
Nice one mate. Appreciate the offer. Really should get myself a bigger pole really, that's not the first time that's happened 🤦🏻♂️
I enjoyed watching you do this... and I can't explain myself why...
have you ever consider to talk with the side neighbor to do all the roof with special price for both?
Looks fantastic!
😂If I lived next door though, I'd want you doing mine now faster than you could say "book me in!!"
Great job 👍
Exactly my thoughts 😂😂😂
Great job.
