I am out here in Washington State. new yamaha boat owner. 2019 sx195. I will be winterizing my boat here shortly also thank you for the info. looks too easy.
FordifiedTroll No, the shipping cover requires the tower to be in the up position to be installed correctly but you can install it for the winter and keep it outside. It is a plastic/PVC vinyl cover with a nice felt interior to prevent scratching. I use it when sending to the dealer vs. giving them the mooring cover as damage may occur while they have it. I also throw the shipping cover over the mooring cover during the winter to keep dirt in the garage from the mooring cover. PS. per Yamaha the dealer is required to dispose of the shipping cover so Yamaha will not cover any complaints regarding it from the customer
Haha, yeah James that is the impeller making that noise because there’s no water cycling! The dealer explained that one to me because I was a little nervous at the dealership when he started it up! The cover did come with poles but I opted not use them with my garage clearance. Take care man!
@@yamahaboatguy8941 I know the sound well, my pwc makes the same sound. I'm kinda surprised you are winterizing considering you are in Cali and the boat is stored in the garage. I never winterized my pwc until I came to Minnesota.
Yeah I probably am just playing it safe because it’s new! I imagine I’ll take it out in March so not really sure I need the fuel stabilizer even but we do get occasionally down below freezing so I thought I’d do all the steps just in case.
What kind of battery charger did you use? How dod you connect the battery charger to the battery? I am new to boating. We have exactly the same boat. I have the white one. Im also here in Inland empire and plan to garage the boat as well. Thank you so much.
Hi there, I used a Schumacher 3 Amp 6, 12 Volt Automatic Digital Battery Maintainer. Its worked on my previous boat as well and runs about 50 bucks at Lowe’s and auto parts stores.
@@yamahaboatguy8941 Thank you for the help. Do you just connect the Schumacher directly to the battery ports with the battery switch on the off position on the boat? would you mind sharing a picture so that I could see how you connected it if possible.
I watch you video again and noticed you have a padded guide pole on the sides of you trailer? We literally have the same set up like covers, etc and trailer, I just want to know where did you get it and how did you install it. Its helpful when retrieving back the boat to the trailer after boating. thanks
Hey! So yeah I actually ordered these guide on’s at the dealership. They are Shoreland’r as well and designed for this trailer specifically. I’m a big fan of the guide-on’s for ease of trailering and so is my wife when she needs to steer it in when I’m backing the truck down!
That's an awesome cover. Not ready to drop 900 and get one at this time. Did the dealer give you the shipping cover? I'm hoping to use that in the mean time.
Hey Jake, yeah they did give me the shipping cover which also has a winch on it to tighten down and is pretty good I must say. It’s a pretty standard white cover and works well too!
I don’t think that’s a proper winterizing, you need to flush the line with coolant plus fog the engine, also run the engine with stabilized gas Also recommended to change oil before you put it away or you could do it before your first ride next season
That's more than sufficient for a garage stored boat that's in California. And I wouldnt change oil until you pull it out of winterization. But to each their own.
I hear what you’re saying but like Jake is saying for California this is what was recommended to me. I think you’re right though for other areas of the country those steps you mentioned are probably necessary. What I did not include in this video however is that I did take the boat in for the 10 hour recommended maintenance check for any abnormalities and an oil change. My next oil change is at the 100 hour mark. Good to hear from you all!
I’m in Ohio and unfortunately it gets extremely cold. I did have to go the antifreeze route. I just put a pump in a 5gl bucket with rv antifreeze and started it up and turned the pump on until it came out the exhaust and then shut it down.
Thank you for putting these videos out there. I just put in an order for a 2023 AR190. Watching your videos was part of my initial research.
Nice boat. I just got my 2023 195S. Can't wait till season starts!

Nice looking boat. I have the 2019 ar190. Good value. Just wish it could hit 40mph...
Nice! What is your top speed then?
So no antifreeze? This was the fastest winterize ive seen. This cant be right but hopefully it is!
Gotta love the rattle of the impeller. Did the cover come with poles?

Hi! Yeah the battery switch is in the off position and I kept the hatch open and connected to the silver battery terminals.

Hey buddy
Do you have the part number for the shortlandrs guides
Hey Max! I’ll get this for you and post it here!
Hi, does this cover with the boat? Thank you Max
Hey Max! So the dealer, West Coast Boat Center rolled it into my package but it doesn’t automatically come with all the Yamaha’s unless opted in for.

does the shipping cover for this fit like this cover or does it cover the tower when folded as well so its completely enclosed?
Is that cover waterproof?
Not completely waterproof as there are some spot that have Velcro hinges etc but on the parts that are seamless-yeah
Did you fog the motor?
Nope, he should
You forgot to oil fog your engine.
Anyone looking to buy a head turning 2020 ar240 hit me up
