Thanks for the test results. That insert isn’t really a restriction. It’s possible you lost some flow after removing it. Like you’ve said, nothing you can really feel. If you get a chance, read up on laminar flow.
Arrow faces throttle body, not air flow direction. This was installed wrong! Riva updated the instructions because of the number of YT vids doing it backwards to now include the wording, "not direction of airflow". Edit: I had paused it when I saw you install it wrong and once I restarted it I see you corrected the install error...nicely done!

Really great video. I have Malibu direct drive but big family. Looking at getting this boat and concerned it can pull me slalom skiing at 34mph. Thanks for doing this!!!
In 2019 they changed the hull shape of the 190 series and on the SX190 they put a limiter (maybe California only) to 7300 or 7400 rpm. My 2018 tops out at 7850rpm and I can get over 40 with 6 people on the boat. You'd need to flash the ecm (Green Hulk waverunner guys can do that) to either remove or raise the limiter.
@@alanwoodwind5265 I have an sx210 with two tr-1 engines. I just changed spark plugs but can only get 7100 rpm out of both engines. And it hits 40mph now. Not sure what the deal is. Yesterday with 3 kids and 3 adults pulling a tube with two kids it would only hit 6900rpm about 32 mph…
getting the riva air filter and crank case breather would be wise - the stock paper filter is much more restrictive upstream thus limiting some benefit of the ribbon delete
I ordered that same Riva piece. I did a k&n filter first. The filter gave me 100rpm, opens up air flow. I am hoping for a lil more rpm. As of now I get 7400rpm after filter. My top speed has only been 36mph.

How’s it working Travis? Just got my 190 fsh broken in, same thing old does about 7350, and 35mph, I was hoping for some more performance
That ribbon insert is helpful capturing salt water spray that is corrosive to the engine internals.
