Hired by Mal Timely the ship captain, these two couldn't be more different one is a red neck cornbread eating country boy hacker and the other is an Asian ship mechanic sometimes called a Chizler. So of course, they got married and the arguments haven't stopped since. Mal suffers these two simply because he can't afford to be without them, ship voyages are long and where would the crew be without their inflight entertainment
This is not a good story just an example of one 🤣
See for me, when I was a kid, I LOVED Bionicle. Making custom characters and telling their stories and such was the best. When I started 40k (especially my entirely kitbashed ork army) I realized I was reigniting that same joy. Absolutely love it.

I love kit bashing and converting. In general, skirmish sized games offer a lot of opportunity for customization and back story development. When Killteam 2018 came out I built a Space Marine kill team from spare models. I converted them with extra bits to be Space Wolves. The Space Wolves used to have this thing where if a squad had a sole survivor that warrior would become a lone wolf and seek a meaningful death in combat. My kill team are the Lone Wolves. Each is a sole survivor. In battle they embrace death knowing their sagas will be lost to the winds. Each warrior goes to war wearing their original pack (squad) markings.

Building stories has to be my favorite part of converting too! Which is why we really enjoyed this project honestly need to do more for our Frostgrave ones too ~Sunny

My best 40k experience was when I started to paint Bladeguard Veterans. Because I really dig that Space Knight esthetic. And after painting a lot of intercessors, dudes with tabards and swords and shields were like a treat for the sore eye.
I went nuts with small heraldic shields fixed on their breastplates, giving each dude a personal heraldy, had to come up with a way to make a marking for the veteran sergeant (because I didn't like giving him a red helmet with the white stripe since my marines are already red), so I gave him a red vertical stripe on his helmets' cheek.
It almost felt like I was finally painting the miniatures that I started space marines for lol.
I think both factors played a role: I was confident with main armor and it was easy, while giving many new details to play around and be creative. It's fun to figure stuff out, and even more fun when you add colors but they actually work.

To anyone reading this, I got a bunch of random parts from anvil industries during a "bits bag giveaway" and it really helped expand my options for my crew, keep an eye for these offers if you don't have a 3d printer

I love converting and kitbashing. Even more uniform forces its really fun. Almost all of my guard sergeants are made from a few different cut up kits, alot more fun than having 10 basically the same sergeants lol. The story telling aspect is my favoite, I make little stories and names for my guardsmen.
Heres a little story for the 14:29 grenediers since I love fish people in sci fi.
Fynn Gilman and John Michael were a pair of fishmen inventors and businessmen. They invented a variety of high quality grenades and incendiary weapons, unfortunately most of the warfare on their aquatic planet was done underwater rendering their inventions useless. Bankrupt and distraught the pair became mercenaries in order to revitalize their business. They use their explosive inventions to great effect for whoever hires them.

Loved that bit at the end with the hacker and mechanic.
My take on the medics. Laura and Alfred, their names in the common tongue have a face that normally frightens most patients at first. Rather attractive for beings or their own species they cant understand that first reaction, more acute in most humans. All apprehension is gone when they put their extensive medical knowledge to work. Their kind, Drakvorians, are natural healers and they happily share their gift with the galaxy. After many years of studying the many galactic species they can put their talents to great use with any crew.
Drakvorian females tend to have brighter colors than the males, while males tend to have patterns on their skins. Large bulbous eyes that seem to glow adds to what seems a scary visage at first. When roaming the galaxy they tend to mostly cover their skins to prevent damage from radiation and extreme temperatures

I did think it was off putting for those guys to be medics because can you imagine you're bleeding out and something that looks like that comes to attend to you? You'd freak out! But well done good sir you understood the assignment as the popular people would say ~Sunny

I recently finished a 3000 point chaos marine army where barely any miniature is not converted. It is fun and, well done can even save money. (We do not talk about the quality of the paintjob, though).
I started it with mordheim around 20 years ago, where I cared zero for gw and made my elves and dwarves from whatever bits, returning to them to represent every scar wound and every piece of equipment they gained (or loose).
I never stopped converting and hope you neither do.

I know of Stargrave, but I never looked into it until now. This is the first gaming system that allows total freedom to create unique characters via Kitbash & not have prescribed colour schemes to fit in with pre-established lore. Have your own Guardian of the Galaxy or Firefly adventure.
Oh yeah the games are very fun but there is a rule we should have paid more attention too where people fall prone when they take 5 or more damage it completely changes how the game is played

14:39 Pathfinders
Pathfinders are commonly an eccentric bunch, but none more so than Larry "Roadie" Roads and Cassie "Like and Subscribe" Piper. It's questionable as to whether these two even remember what they were scouting for, but they've been at it for years and they haven't gone home yet.
Larry always goes into the field with his guitar immaculately tuned and ready to play, dispite not knowing how to actually play it. Instead he frantically looks for someone, anyone, with a traveling band who might need someone to carry sound equipment for them. This means the guitar is more of a resume than anything else, but due to his numerous quirks (and the fact that he's waving around a gun) he has yet to be hired.
Cassie, by contrast, is the brains of the duo. She understands their pathfinder tasks and can carry them out with speed and efficiency... if she would only get off her phone. On numerous occasions she has let a mission fail simply because she stopped short of her goal and tried to post a short about it. Money means little to her, only likes and engagement. Perhaps this is the reason she was saddled with Larry, or maybe she sees him as bizarre enough to keep raking in the views. In truth, it's probably just because every social media star needs a follower and every roadie needs a performer.

14:35 Snipers. I don't know anything about the lore so feel free to change anything you want in this, or just not like it haha. Also doing this for me, as slight practice and fun cuz im not good at this kind of thing.
Female sniper, don't have name yet, but after growing up and wishing to be a pilot and explore space is drafted into some sort of in universe governmental military organization, is trained as a sniper and sent to kill insurectionist rebles. Working closely with her spotter who is the guy, and voulentarily joined as a career soilder after a long linage of family military memebers. Eventually after fighting for an extended period of time, killing many people she wishes she didn't have to, her and her new buddy are sympathetic to the reble's cause and go rouge after she convinces guy to see things from her perspective and the perspective of the rebles. So he breaks the long linage and goes rouge with her then Winding up with a cooperation as pmcs just trying to survive in hiding, ironically forced to explore space as she wanted, but after growing weary they both just wish to find a nice place to hide and live a quite life, maybe farming related off grid somewhere or something. She does enjoy occasionally piloting the ship tho with help however. Guy is very headstrong and occasionally unreasonable but the calm deminor and reasonableness of his partner keeps him honest and doing the right thing.

These models are very nice. I don't think that the stargrave ones are so bad actually.
I imagine alien medics might not be very familiar with human biology, so they probably would have a few blood splatters on their clothes from their surgeries looking for the gills on a human patient

I saw another one of your videos a while ago, I can’t remember which one now, and someone was saying that you were mansplaining to Sunny or something like that. I didn’t think you were doing that but I thought that maybe just the way you handed off between each other in the dialogue might have cause that person to perceive it that way? Anyway, it’s like, something I do myself to be honest 😁 so I just wanted to mention it.

@@chenhan22 You're all good I had just woken up and and you were the first comment I had gotten to and I thought it was for the current video which is very different to the usual. I go through on camera the basics of all of the steps of assembly not very exciting but we think important because we are eventually going to cover all of the basics of hobbying, so I got confused.
And the other thing I wanted say is we have to be able to take criticism as I hope you saw. We are both very powerful presences? I don't know a way to say we are both stubborn so we are both very curt with eachother some of the times but, yeah I remember that comment it annoyed me because I thought it diminished Sunny.
So, with your critic I am trying to take it on board I even noticed it today in my typing. If we are trying to help people improve we have to be able to take that onboard as well.

Awesome crews. Awesome to know that if GW destroys the lore like Disney did with Star Wars, there’ll be the option of 3-D models. Certainly a cheaper option than the couple thousand dollars of my son’s space wolves and daughter’s Adeptas Sororitas armies
