I’m confused by all the comments about the “speed” of the car, are you riding around doing 100 mph on the daily basis?? Or is this a everyday car ? If you want a race car GO BUY ONE! This car is gorgeous and that Accord does not compare AT ALL as far as looks go. I’ve seen one in person and the videos don’t do it justice, the car is beautiful.

The TLX looks even better with the roof spoiler and the tints on the windows, there are strict regs about how tinted the front 3 windows can be here in the UK so think that would be pulled over here 😂 love the ending Mike looks like you are after Jeremy Clarkson's job 😲👏👍 John UK.

Thats an easy one. We are talking about a 2.0 T as opposed to a 3.0 twin scroll turbo...TLX type s has already beaten every other generation of TL, by miles, or car lengths...videos are already on youtube!

I'm wondering when if ever will Hondata put out a programmer for the new TLX. I am holding out for my AWD A-Spec. I am supremely interested in swapping a civic type-r turbo and seeing how far we can get. I think there is fair potential from this platform, it's just dog slow in factory form.
Such a nice care but it would look a lot nicer if you added black gloss to those matte rims to match the black high gloss on the car.

Those 2.0T’s are no slouches that’s for sure. Dang I’m a sucker for those NSX’s accelerating thru the gears like that.

The project TLX does good on 1st gear but sounds bogged down in second and doesn’t rev out far.
The new TLX is insane but I really really hope when the MDX Type S drops you guys mod one of them out, just like you did to this TLX 🤞🏼

I guess its time for me to part ways with my 2008 Kinetic Blue Pearl TL Type S lol. I am the original owner and it just hit 60k so I am hoping to get a decent amount so I can put a solid down payment on the MDX-S 🙏🏽

Put a Hondata on that Accord 2.0T and I bet it will destroy the TLX. The best part, it’s practically $10,000 less on the price. By I have to admit, that TLX looks SICK!! 💪🏻💪🏻

Idk just not impressed with the new TLX 4 cylinder. The guys on Throttle House raced the accord and tlx with a Hyundai and the tlx gets smoked by the accord every race.
Shame on you Acura for making the TLX slower than an Accord.

Nothing but great things to say on the BC Coilover. It gives a much sportier ride than the Oem stock suspension but yet not harsh or bouncy. Highly recommended

My aspec awd is 4200 lbs of pork lol but the ambient lighting makes up for it love the night cruises.

Thanks guys! Interesting that the TLX FWD literally 'bogs down' on the 2nd-3rd gear shift (even in the MOD version), whereas the TLX AWD doesn't, yet runs slower times...added weight, perhaps? Meh...just give me the NSX

You’re heatsoaking the dog shit out of that TLX. 😭😭😭 I like my 2021 SGP 2.0T Accord Touring. 🥳🥳🥳 I also believe there are 13.8 stock Accords.
Heatsoaking? It’s the same test for all 4 models with 3 pulls each, with the same “real world” intention of doing them back to back. The raise of under hood temperatures clearly affected the performance of all model. Perhaps an larger Intercooler can helps with the heat exchange. Dragy isn’t the best and precise tool to measure but it pretty close. Base on some of the prior testings on a track, it has a +/- one tenth of a second difference from track time. The Accord is clearly faster, mainly would be due to weight and software, but do not believe a stock Accord 2.0T with 10-speed Auto can do 13.8 in a quarter
My old naturally aspirated 2003 Mazda Protege was turning out sub 10.1’s in the 1/8th mile with IHE. This is shameful. Looks awesome tho.
My 2020 Kia Forte GT, 6 Speed Manual has run 5.5 0-60, 13.75@101.9 and 13.77@103.4 with just a JB4, E30 and WMI enabled on the last run mentioned. All on Hoosier Drag Radials and Whiteline Springs. These cars can do better especially if they get off pump gas.
The back tailights look like a Ceylon from Battlestar Galactica or Stormtrooper.
There should be 6cyl Turbo only for Acura TLXs. They should’ve learned something from Nissan after the 6cyl Altimas nearly made the Maxima obsolete. Maximas are still trying to recover. Acura should’ve at least tuned their 4cyl TLXs to 300-320hp and 6cyl at least 380-400hp to justify price. They have now made it easier for shoppers to just go purchase 2-3yr old BMW 4 and 5 Series with benchmark performance and tech laden cabins

Pretty dope but I’d lik to see faster times. Tht Type S with down pipe nd tune needs to b atleast 4secs flat. Ik speed isn’t everything but the looks of these things are too beautiful for it not to b a 4.5 car easily.

Redline reviews got 4.7 seconds on a regular street surface, I think it will be close to 4.3 seconds on a prepped surface

Very disappointing numbers from the heavy tlx. Tuned is barely faster than a stock accord sport. Obviously there’s a big difference in luxury and ride but performance isn’t there. Good thing the type S solves that problem, just hope they aren’t impossible to find without a ridiculous markup.

Man if it weren’t for the Acura TLX Type S I would probably buy the Honda Accord Touring and save more than 10 stacks
I saved 20 stacks getting my 20 Accord Touring 2.0T. 😊 32K vs 52K, be smarter and plus the Type-S isn't all that much faster while the Touring has more luxury at certain parts as well.
The new TLX is gorgeous inside and out, but 0-60 in 7 seconds for a $50k sporty luxury car is just way to slow in this day and age. Had a deposit on a 2021 TLX AWD Advance which sticker'd just under 50k, but I was so back and forth and in the end decided to not buy it. As much as I loved everything else about the car, I know the poor acceleration would really get to me. Another thing is the gas mileage is relatively poor too. As a comparison, the BMW 540i is much more powerful and wayyy faster and gets about the same MPG. Awesome car, but the engine and trans tuning is, unfortunately a let down.

My wife got her 20 Accord Sport 2.0T for $26K and you're comparing that to a $52K Type-S at double the price? You serious? The Accord with a tune could be just as fast as the Type-S and it would cost you less then $500 more.

So a 2010 Acura TL SH_AWD has a 3.7L V-6. They should of just put that engine with a turbo in the new type-s. Now the 2021 TLX is basically the slowest in it's class

Its been know that the Acura TLX is slower than the Honda Accord. The Type S looks promising but the numbers aren't out yet. My assumption, like many other on the forums, the Type S will be slower than the competition.
Good Point. One note, history of Acura/Honda proved they often don't make the quickest straight line runner but rather than a better performance on the track.
@@ahcgarage That's definitely true. As someone that owns and driven Honda/Acuras. They are more mountain driving cars or track cars rather than straight line.
My 1.5 cvt on 21psi with ktuner did a full second faster in the 1/4th 🤨 (I have no back seat and passenger seat)
The TLX 2021 AWD is slow for an AWD.
Imagine putting all that $$ and effort into a top of the trim accord, which is still less than the TLX. It would be a beast!

I agree as well. The V6 turbo thats in the type s really should have been the base engine for the TLX 2nd Gen. Acura is the premium/luxury brand. If you want a 4 cyl turbo buy a Accord why offer such a similar motor minus the SH AWD.

I don't think so. TLX in general is on the lower end compared to the competition with the price point with what it offers and performance. The new Genesis g70> Type S in every category that isn't personal opinion (looks of the car for example). TLX does look better, imo.

@@litmotollc7799 explain? Type S is slowest in the class struggles to get below 5 sec 0-60. The g70 is a true rwd architecture. The type S is a nose heavy fwd architecture. They can try to mask it with the torque vectoring diff all they want but it will never have the dynamics/balance if the g70. It weighs as much as a challenger scat pack.
