Being a Honda/Acura tech since 2014, when I first started doing PDIs out of school I noticed the lining up of the badge to the valve stem on factory wheels as discussed at 24:30. Everytime I did tires I would line them up. I told the other techs and they all just called me crazy LOL

Don't forget, also need to switch the transmission into sport mode by pressing the "D/S" button. Should say "S" instead of "D" in the gauge cluster. Might give you a slightly better launch

Yeah, I was going to say switching the transmission from D to S. Anyways to many switches. It would be nice when you go on S+ that it will auto switch from D to S, since that’s the most sporty setting.

I've been anxious to see real world acceleration tests on this car so thank you for posting, I think this is the first on UA-cam. Unfortunately I think this just formally eliminated the TLX-S from a lot of people's shopping lists. So it's slightly quicker than an Accord 2.0t, but only because of traction. Car & Driver demonstrated with their long term Accord 2.0t that it is fully capable of matching the TLX-S's acceleration with a sticky enough track. In the real world most people aren't going to time their acceleration numbers while doing mundane things like driving to the grocery store or taking kids to soccer practice but for those interested in a car like this, they expect it to at least match the competitive set in performance and these numbers demonstrate the comparative urgency with which the car accelerates. Not really impressive. And the fuel economy is easily worst in class. The Accord is actually traveling faster at the end of the 1/4 in C&D's testing (they achieved 105mph) which is a result of being 800 lbs lighter. The TLX-S looks the business but man it's a porker. The Acura badge sort of elicits the same "meh" response as Infiniti these days so I'm trying to figure out why they didn't focus more on keeping weight down and really creating a contender; they gave it a fantastic engine but it's hampered by all that girth, relegating it to also-ran status. If the S4 was the performance target, as Acura said, that's a clear miss. Rear seat room is tight so that's a miss. 4200lbs is a huge miss. It sounds fantastic, so it has that going for it, but if I was determined to get a Honda/Acura I'd just buy the Accord 2.0t, save the $20k or so and drive a car that is roomier and probably more enjoyable to live with, not to mention almost 25% lighter and far less thirsty. Bummer, I'm sure it will find a few buyers among the Acura/Honda faithful though and of course there is more to driving enjoyment than raw numbers but I can't help thinking a lot of people who are otherwise looking at S4/S5, M340i, Stinger GT/G70 and maybe even Q50 won't end up in Acura showrooms. I wouldn't trade my '18 Q50 RS for this car and I have a love/hate relationship with my car. I certainly wouldn't buy the TLX-S over any of the others mentioned. Nor would I buy it over the Accord...sorry Acura :-(

This car looks damn nice and while I think it's a good car and will be just fine.. Mid 13s in the quarter and over 5 seconds to 60 makes it by far the slowest thing in the segment. Audi, BMW, Kia and Genesis will give you 12 second cars from the factory at that range that can dig deep into the 11s with bolt ons. Lexus is coming back with a V8 in the IS. Yes it's heavier, but the engine size difference and proper tune should make up for it. Even the quarter mile, type R can do it about 13 secs or slightly less and that's because it's hard to get traction from the dig. I thought Type S could do better. It also doesn't offer manual for such sporty car. How unfortunate...
