my oem brakes warped 2 weeks in so i just rode them to the rotor and ordered my type a brake kit to instal on my aspec thank y ouuu guys
If you rotate the rotor 180 degrees from where you had it the rotor set screws line up and you can put them back in. There is only one orientation that they will line up. I put them both back in when I did the type s brake upgrade on my TLX.
I have that same Snap On impact driver for rotors except I have all the new ingersollrand 3/4 and 1/2 impact guns. Milwaukee is my other go to. I was a tech for Honda for 5 years before I started tig and mig welding. I love this new TLX. You fellas got the info for upgrades thanks guys.
Thanks for the support. Snap On and Milwaukee are the our choices right now
This ASpec came out quite nice. Makes me want to drop my Type S off to you guys to get it right !
Awesome work Mike and John, love the video guys please keep pumping out video like these... thanks
Thanks for the support
Those new callipers and rotors look so much better than the old ones plus with the better braking it's a good job done guys, oh and that Apex Blue is such an amazing colour 🤩👏👍
Thanks a ton John
I know each episode Will be top notch!
Thank you!!
Mike, John, and the entire AHC Garage team making dialed in set ups for us. Thanks ya guys.
Much much appreciate it
This looks Wonderful. Thank you @ACH Garage. Any Idea if these Brembo Calibers, Rooters, Back Plate would fit 2018 Acura RLX Base?
TLX is looking very sharp.🇺🇸😎
Thanks, cheers!!!
Awesome work guys 🙌
Thank you 🙌
Hey Mike, great tutorial video and always enjoyed your Saturday uploads. Just curious, is it appropriate to remove the wheel hub and reinstall? I ask because i have a wheel stud that is damaged and the only way i see it properly done is to remove the hub to insert a new wheel stud. Thanks
Great upgrade! I put Brembos on my 2004 GTO and my God, what a night and day difference. My buddy wants me to put these on his A Spec. Like a couple others, also wondering about the hub reassembly… did you draw it back on with the axle nut? This question seems to be asked but not answered.
Very nice might have to cash in on a A Spec , because Type S mark ups are crazy right now
Right on!!
Those cars sound so good 👍 Acura dose it again
Oh shit lol 😆
Splendid as always big thumbs up 👍
Thanks a lot 🙌🏼
You guys are the best this is the best channel ever
Thank you!!
Love the upgrade, but IMO I would've went with R1 Concepts Carbon Alloy Cross Drilled Geomet Rotors instead of plain solid disc. And used stainless steel braided brake lines instead of the spongy rubber ones
Adding cross drill rotors and stainless steel brake lines would be a nice upgrades. However, we did not soft brake pedal with the factory rubber lines.
Acura should consider this as an upgrade on the TLX. With a car that massive in both size and weight, better braking is always a plus and reduced brake fade.
The stock brakes are more than adequate for the stock car but it’s always good to have a Brembo upgrade
not many people are going to track their TLX's and the ones that do would get better results from a pad upgrade.
@@JasonLee-xg5kiyeah but these look better.
Great upgrade OEM++
Yes!!!
Can you make a video list of upgrades because I can barely find any for my 2018 aspec
Nice job. A lil ceramic coating before installing would have been a nice touch.
That’s a great idea. We wanted to do the same but awaiting for the material to arrives.
nice please dont stop with these TLX Videos big Honda/Acura fan and fan of your channel about to order these for this mod, can you list the rear part # as well ?
Great video and a great channel too👍
Thank you very much!
Awesome upgrade guys. That rotor white finish wears off after driving it correct? It would be nice if it has a nice metallic finish like the OEM rotor
Yes, the finish will wears off
Awesome guys!!!
When reinstalling the hub, did you just tighten the axle nut down to pull it back in?
Nice, thanks for sharing this... Superb 👍
Thanks for watching
Hey I was wondering if these would also fit the 4G TL, I know that Honda carries specs over models sometimes and I was hoping you guys might know the answer. Thanks in advance.
Did the inner race come out of the bearing when you slide hammer off the hub?
No clip of installing the hub back into the bearing? Hopefully the axle nut wasn’t used to pull it back together. I’m not sure if the bearing will fully seat using only the axle nut.
I was wondering the same! I have NEVER seen the bearing get reused after separation.
Thank you
Exactly! Maybe they did that so they can make a video on how to install new wheel bearing after they go bad after this install?
What would be the best way to get the bearing back in? Press in a new one?
@@TopShottaFYC you don’t really put the old one back in. You press out the back half of the bearing in the hub, and remove or cut off the race on the hub if reusing the hub, then press in a whole new bearing assembly before pressing the hub in.
I wonder if this would fit 4th gen Acura TL
Can you guys measure center to center on the mounting tabs on the calipers? Would like to put these on my 2020 RDX A-Spec but need to make sure they have the same spacing for mounting to the knuckle. The next thing will be finding a similar size and offset rotor that's 5x114 to fit to the RDX.
Following
Will this brake upgrade work on my 2020 mdx Aspec?
Hey guys love the video and have the Blue ASpec 2021 model with red interior and love the car. I was curios if this brake upgradr comes in blue?
Unfortunately they only come in Red
Hi, i would like to know your opinion if this would apply for the 22 and up MDX?
Man I really want to know if this can fit a 2019 mdx a spec.
Looks great
Thanks!
Wonder if these work on the 10th Gen Accord
Doesn't this void the warranty? I'm looking into upgrading my tlx brakes
Very nice! I just bought a 2021 A-Spec SH-AWD. How much did the brembo upgrade cost total? And what mods does this A-Spec have to make it go from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds?
I need those mods!
Big turbo upgrade, intercooler upgrade, intake, downpipe, flex fuel and tune.
Awesome mike! Do you think a 2021 mdx can get a bolt on brembo upgrade as well from a mdx type s?
I want to say yes since the MDX and Type-S are very similar
Do you think process will be same once the Integra and Integra Type S come about? The prototype they showed had Brembo brakes which are Type S only, but I wonder if they would bolt up to normal Integra's.. Guess we'll have to see once they come in. Hoping so
I am sure will be very similar
Great write up. I got the Type S brake kit as well for the A Spec. So what is the process of bleeding the brake since it is an electronic pump on the reservoir. It throw me an error light on my dash. Thank you.
Thank you. We use a manual brake bleeder and since it has a check valve, make it super easy to bleed the system efficiently and no need for an extra person to assist. Here's the link to our brake bleeder:
amzn.to/2ZIRazl
@@ahcgarage great! I’ll pass this info to my mechanic
Can this be done with 2020 TLX SHAWD 3.5?
I always wondered about this! Now I know!
Will the A-Spec 255/40R19 wheels impact the fitment due to the larger callipers?
The A-Spec wheels will clear the Brembo calipers
Gold !
Amazing content !
Why did you not replace the rusted hub and install the correct hubs at this point? The mounting screw not lining up on the hub would've bothered me if I didn't correct it.
Since the hub is made out of steel and not stainless, even replace with new one, it will will rust regardless
I want some Brembo brakes 👏🏾👏🏾
Brembo for the win!!
Wanna put some on my srt4
Sweet I love it
Thanks!!
Cna you please confirm if MDX and TLX brembo calipers are interchangable ? I got a good deal on MDX brembos for my TLX. Thanks
When are you guys modifying a Type S?
What were the torque specs for the axle nut when you put it back on?
Thanks for uploading this! Would this caliper work on a '19 TLX 2.4 fwd?
Google
It will not be direct fit
This is a great video. I have a ‘22 MDX Advance. I’d like to upgrade the brakes to the Type S Brembos. Would the process be identical to your video for my MDX?
Im wondering the same too.
same here!
Is it absolutely necessary to change the brake dust shield?
Will this Type S setup work on a 2022 Acura RDX A-Spec SH-AWD?
The brake dust shield replacement is a must because the type S brake rotors are much larger than the stock unit
Hell yeah !!!!
Is it possible to apply the same set of front break caliper and disk to the rear wheel as well?
The rear calipers are the same as the Type-S with the exception of not being in Red
That makes it inconvenient when changing pads
Good point
Would this work for a 2020 rdx aspec?
Beautiful TLX 🤭😊
Cheers!!
Cheers 🥂😊
Off topic: have your tech ever try putting a short ram intake off a 2.0t Accord onto the 2.0t TLX? I see someone put one using a HPS short ram. Wonder if that is possible or do able?
We have yet to do so but it should be a pretty close fitment
@@ahcgarage Thanks! I'll contact HPS performance to see if they have any set up for the 2.0L. I know they are working on prototype for the Type S intake currently.
also do you have this on stock at your dealership?
Brake Hoses (2): 01464-TGZ-A00
My local dealership do not and I tried to order through Honda HQ in Torrance it is on back order. Just like to see if you have any on your end in stock. I have everything for the brake kit except for those hoses. Thanks!
Do parts lists differ if 21’tlx is fwd?
Un trabajo excelente todo preciso
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sin duda alguna Exelente trabajo saludos 👍
Will these calipers clear the OEM wheels ?
it must be nice when there is no rust, everything come right off haha. that's one bad tlx
Yes, it's like legos
Wonder if those brembos will fit a 9th gen accord V6
Bolt pattern is different. Your better off swapping it off a 3rd gen TL-S
HI @ahc garage i have ordered the brake kit for my TLX but acura discontinued the brake bracket on your part list. Can i do the instal without it or is it not do able without it
Definitely recommend to replace it with the correct parts
Question. The bermbo passenger side has 3 holes on em. I know the mid hole is for break lines. I'm not sure about the other two. Any help?
At 10.49 you have the part number for the right bolt
All of the part numbers are in the description
I can throw these on my G1 TLX?
Can I do the same to a 2019 tlx a-spec?
Any idea if
the Brembos will fit on a 2018 TLX A-Spec V6?
We have yet to test fit them but highly unlikely to be bolt-on
would this fit onto a 3rd gen rdx aspec shawd?
I asked my local dealership and they told me they would not do this upgrade for me because its not for RDX
Wondering if these are the same as the MDX brembos. Was thinking that'd be cool to do on a base MDX as well.
We are working on a 2022+ MDX kit
@@ahcgarage curious how the pedal feel is considering they designed it for those smaller calipers. Did they change at all or once you got that "wall" it just stops better? I noticed in the MDX that it's kind of squishy almost until you hit that wall before it starts to stop.
@@ahcgarageHey there! You guys still working on this kit by chance? I know theres quite a bit of interest in it.
Wait wait wait! How did you get that hub back on? You guys are holding out on me.
You just...put it back on
@@SeanGoVroom Ha! 👍🏼
But why isn’t it in the video? I have never seen anyone put the race back on a bearing like that. Usually everyone just replaces them once they have been separated. And did they install it just by tightening down on the axle nut? IDK. I smell something stinky here.
Guys, can you tell everyone if the brake calipers from Acura TLX 3.0 will fit on the Honda Accord 2.0 CV2 body?Or will spacers be needed?Where can I order them and from whom?
Unfortunately they won’t fit on the Accord
I tried to get the Acura dealership to swap out my 2021 Acura TLX a-spec brakes for the TLX type-s brembo brakes. And the service technicians said they wouldn’t do it.
Some dealerships have reservation since it's an upgrade and not stock
I wonder if these calipers would directly bolt up on the accord since the tlx is very similar to it
Unfortunately the knuckle setup is different between the two models
Hey AHC I personally have a a spec Acura tlx and have been wanting to put a cold air intake on it but I don’t know much about car parts and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of which one to buy
PRL makes a Stage 1 intake system for the 2.0T TLX. Here's the link:
prlmotorsports.com/products/2021-acura-tlx-type-s-stage-1-intake-system?_pos=10&_sid=4aae60db9&_ss=r
As for the "Cold Air Intake", take a minute to read this article from PRL, super informative:
prlmotorsports.com/blogs/product-development/2021-acura-tlxt-type-s-2-0t-intake-talk
@@ahcgarage I looked up the cold air intake and says it’s for the type s is that okay?
My apologies, here’s the link for the 2.0T:
prlmotorsports.com/products/2021-acura-tlx-2-0t-stage-1-intake-system?_pos=7&_sid=a987c7c02&_ss=r
Does AHC Garage do installs for the public?
Yes, we do plenty of customer cars
Hi guys i just did this upgrade to my car and followed all your instruction now all the lights on my dash are going off but the car drives fine
You will need to use a scan tool to pull and reset the diagnostic code(s)
@@ahcgarage is it ok for me to just reset them or should i take it to my acura dealership?
What is the part number for the bracket that needed to be replaced?
Please refer to the desciption
Guys i want to do the same thing to my 2020 TLX//// Some Advise o make a video about that /// Thanks
Will put that on our list
Nice 👌🏼
Thanks 🔥
Would Akebono pads also work here?
Any aftermarket pad will work as long as they are made to fit the type s.
Are you going to be working on any Acura ILX’s any time soon
In the future
@@ahcgarage I love my aspec the k24 is a classic n/a engine would love to see y’all work on it. Best Acura and Honda content on yt
Will that type S brake kit fit a 2021 Accord 2.0 T
Not a direct bolt on
If someone is really concerned about the rotor mounting screws, can they just use a Type S hub?
Probably but why? The set screws only assist in assembly. They are 100% not necessary.
@@chadwagner1483 - I heard they also serve to reduce vibration. Just what I heard.
Yes, you can always replace it with the Type-S hub. However, at that point, you will need to replace the front wheel bearings as well.
Acura should have put bigger breaks on the tlx base from the start it's heavy car after all
Brembo is always nice but the stock brakes does exactly what it takes
Any idea if this bolts to the RDX?
We have yet to test fit them but highly unlikely to be bolt-on
all that money into an Aspec, Glad I waited and got the Type S Love it
Congrats on your Type-S
Looks great, can these be used on a 2020 TLX with correct offset for wheel clearance. Another option can the 2006 Type S brembo work?
Unfortunately they are not direct bolt-on the first generation TLX
What about the rear brakes and calipers. They are so small in need of an upgrade
They aren't exactly small but an upgrade is always nice.
Ps. Type-S has the same rear brakes as all of the 2nd Generation TLX models, only exception is red
Yeah that’s the problem. I’m still in search of what rear size calipers I can upgrade too.
What are those wheels
Will the calipers fit a 2019 3.5?
We have yet to test fit them but highly unlikely to be bolt-on
Will this kit fit a 2020 acura rdx
Unconfirmed, we will look into it
Will these fit with the stock wheels?
Yea
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching!!
Will there be anymore mods to this car
We should have more videos as more performance parts release
