I rolled my eyes when the baseball reference page scrolled because I knew Lucas was going to crush it again 🙄 this dude is cracked. Legitimately the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen.
I love Lucas doing his thing. I would request more JM reactions to Lucas' run like the world series video. The "what the f@&k?" added to the Lucas lore. Love this new series/game!
2001 is kind of a forgotten "Stolen MVP" year with Ichiro winning. Jason Giambi had a batting average only 8 points lower, but had an OBP 96 points higher, and a slugging percentage 203 points higher. Man had a 1.137 OPS, a 199 OPS+, a bWAR lead of 1.5, and an fWAR lead of 3.2. The narrative of Ichiro was very strong, but Giambi was a man possessed that year.
All the big numbers look good, but I would have still given it to ichiro. He nearly broke the single season hit record as a rookie in the height of the steroid era. And lead a team that won 116 games.
@@Endalamu Didn't stop three roided players from going 1-2-3 in MVP voting in the NL the same year: Bonds-Sosa-Gonzalez. And if that's the problem, then you should probably give it to Bret Boone, the best player on the Mariners that year.
@@SgtHolton the original comment says “nearly broke…” I know he didn’t set a record in 01. But being closer than anybody else had in decades as a rookie still plays into mvp voter consideration.
For the NL one, you should let everyone else compete, then separately just let Lukas run through the list because it’s not fair but at the same time it’s so incredibly impressive
Came to say this. Almost every time before he says the name, he looks to his left. There were a few times he didn't but almost every time he also looked specifically to the same spot. It wouldn't surprise me if they said he just kinda pretend you know all these bc it'll drive up viewers. I do believe he knows the ws winners tho
Lucas won but I gotta say I'm impressed with Rony for getting all the way back to probably way before he was born, considering he hadn't heard of Mo Vaughn. (Albert Belle was robbed)
Still complaining about Altuve when he only had 2.8% banged like 28 total. But will glaze on Mookie even though he cheated that year too. Not even gonna mention the ARod glazing kinda crazy.
Thank you Lucas! I get Yankees fans being salty about Altuve winning the MVP in 2017, but Jeter shouldn’t have won in 2006. Think there’s a better argument that Jeter shouldn’t even be in the top 5 that year.
I don't know how good Lucas is in other categories, but this would be great if it was like, 3 vs 1. Three people try to go back as far as they can together against Lucas by himself. Could a collective mind beat the legend?
@@chrisbartolini1508 Back then team success mattered more and the O’s went from winning the World Series to 5th in their division. Cal was the same exact player but dropped 26 spots and lost to a reliever
@@chrisbartolini1508 in fact his 83 reference WAR was 8.2 and in 84 it was 10! Imagine being the reigning MVP and having a 10 WAR and not only losing the MVP to a reliever in today's but dropping to 27th in voting.
For the next one you should record Lucas round first, and then leave as an outro the reaction of the rest knowing this freak got to years before color TV. Would love that.
See, last time I read the comments and it gave me pride that I can outdo Lucas in naming the world series champs in order. But I have no idea when it comes to MVPs. I couldn't get beyond 2020 😂 Yes, Lucas is a freak
We need the reactions of the other players when they find out how far back Lucas got. Those were hilarious in the WS winners video.
I was also waiting for this - Jolly please include the reactions again!
Wonder if some guys would even try if you told them how good Lucas did before they start.
I’m pretty sure he has the list up after awhile. Watch him look over to the same spot in between each guess.
@@jeremykayy No bro. He's recalling information.
Lucas is a freaking fiend. How does an MLB team not have him on payroll
This video should be titled "How Many Players Does Rony Think People Have Forgotten About"
I smell a new show. "Players You've Forgotten, That Really Did Matter."
Vladimir Guerrero was an odd one for that title 😂
@@pigpotty not like his son Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is a superstar or anything
@@Not_Sem to be fair im 40 so i cant relate to the perspective of a 20 year old sports fan sometimes 😅
Yo he’s saying it for every player🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I read this before watching and I’m crying
"Who played on that 48 Cleveland team?" is the most ridiculous sentence I've heard all day.
Lucas must just read baseball history in his free time for fun
That was super impressive for Lucas to get 1944
And especially how he ripped thru the 50s and 60s
I liked this comment before I watched the video thinking it was a joke… what the actual fuck
Vladdy Jr. pick for 2019 was certainly a bold pick Jake lol
seems like he literally only pays attention to the yankees lol
More
He was second that year. He would've won it in a normal year without a freak of nature in Anaheim.
@@rossdilworth3412you are thinking of 2021
I'm now no longer surprised by Lucas (still impressed all the same). This video Rony is my man! Surprising and impressive!
Props to Rony for hanging with The Unstoppable force Lucas for that long 😂

"She Frank on my Thomas till I Big Hurt" almost killed me lmfao

after seeing Jeff Passan kill MLB Connect, I would've loved to see him challenge Lucas on this and the World Series
agree I wonder if Jeff has that random stuff in the back of his head like Lucas
Many years of doing the every AL MVP sporcle quiz really helped me out with this one, but I can only go back into the 60s not all the way to 1944 haha
Be honest how many people clicked just to see how far Lucas can go.
ik he popped off as usual

“People forget about this guy” - Rony every other year
Dude that was so awesome to watch! What killer memory Lucas has!! Please more of this show!
Lucas is the Max Mannis of reverse year award naming.
That was an insane performance by Lucas!!!
"People forget about this guy" -Rony
So happy this content exists. Been seeing tsn do hockey quizzes for so long and I need more baseball quizzes from you guys
Kinda wild that all of the non-Jomboy shows personalities are the ones who are always crushing these super deep baseball trivia games
Going back to '44! Really impressive memory
For the NL one, you should let everyone else compete, then separately just let Lukas run through the list because it’s not fair but at the same time it’s so incredibly impressive
These videos are some of the most impressive flexs of sports knowledge I’ve ever scene, Luke is a legend
“People forget about this guy”
Cant wait for Lucas to pop off again! I think I’ll get to like 2005???
Love watching this series.
Lucas, you are a freak!
I could watch Lucas do baseball trivia all day
“She Frank on my Thomas till it Big Hurt”
- Jolly, 2023
This video should be played on repeat at the Museum of Scaring the Hoes.
That was an AMAZING run.
This is still the most impressive thing done on this channel
Love the boss music for that run by Lucas. You know it's over when the scrolling list starts.
Lucas…you are insane 🤯
That was impressive!
I feel like Lucas walks into these like Larry Bird walked into the 3 point contests “so, who’s coming in second”
I would be awful at this quite honestly lmao watching Lucas do these is insane once you go past 16 my brain becomes mush
Love this. Lucas is crazy!
Max and BBD have thoroughly impressed me since I started watching but Lucas doing this might be the craziest thing I’ve ever seen
He keeps looking left and I feel like someone is holding a sign up.

im 32 years old and watched baseball religiously growing up and i am blown away by these guys knowledge. Do you all have photographic memories ?
Lucas needs his own show at this point
God damn dude. This is really impressive
Haha I've never even heard of some of these guys. Crazy stuff Lucas

such a fun video!
That was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen like Lucas is crazy
People not only forget about Josh Hamilton, but that his career started in Cincinnati, when no other team wanted him.
Sebastian Vettel, 2010-13 f1 champion did basically what Lucas did but for f1 champs in an episode of grill the grid. It was also insanely impressive
@1:15 thought someone was knocking on my wall or something

FUN FACT: Pottstown, Pa's own Bobby Shantz is still alive at 97 years old
Need to see Max Mannis and Lucas in some sort of baseball trivia show. Like Jeopardy or stump the schwaab..

The thing that bothers me is Pedroia won with a somewhat worse year when the second place finisher was Justin Morneau putting up the exact same stats
That was insane. My god
Convinced bro just goes home and studies these lists
Using a picture of Hal Newhouser with a Cleveland cap is insane slander. But yeah Lucas is a machine.
i love their reactions to 2017 lmfao
Gotta love a good Billy Madison reference lol

No someone guessed vlad in 2019 lmao I didn’t know Lucas was this crazy with it
Wow. Lucas was incredible 🤯
Morneau had the 3rd highest WAR on his TEAM in 2006
Hearing an adult say they've never heard of Juan Gonzalez or Mo Vaughn made me feel exactly as old as I am.
Heresy to have Hal Newhowser with the Cleveland Indians cap. He won those MVP's as a Tiger!
Ripken had basically the same season in 84 as 83 and he went from 1 to 27. He was the best player in the league in 84 too
I know WAR wasn’t a thing then, but that’s inexcusable.

I have to say Zoilo Versalles has to be the most made up real name I’ve ever heard.
Zoilo Versailles is watching this saying "That MF spitting"
Just mad because Altuve and the Stros continue to be the Yankee's Daddy! LOLOLOL

I love how everyone else has to think and Lucas just states the obvious like we all know it
Next video could be “ homerun Season leaders”
I’m just as surprised as everyone lol

The MVP races in the 40s were strange
Lucas is the Max Manis of this game 😂

The office is going to study hard for the NL one cause they know it’s coming
MORNEAU DESERVED HIS MVP, although Ortiz would have won it if he played any kind of defence, even if it was a -30 OAA
