Good video, this was too short. Really like the idea of showing a famous picture and then guessing. Needs to be longer and also can be done on JM Football too.
I would love to see the JM baseball channel move more in a direction of all time baseball rather than just past the 2000s. There’s so many great players outside of the last 24 years that never get mentioned. The sporcles are the best videos on your channel. But more of these would be good too
There are some fun Triple Crown combos you can do. For pitching, Sale and Skubal did it this year, Kershaw and Verlander did it in 2011. For hitting, the only time a single season had two Triple Crown winners was when Hall of Famers Chuck Klein (NL) and Jimmie Foxx (AL) both did it in 1933 (also the year of the first ASG)
Excellent concept, excellent execution! So says this old head (43). For the VERY old heads like my father, a devout Washington Senators fan, I will note that the only 21 K game was indeed an extra innings game, pitched by Tom Cheney. One of very few bright spots for my dad's baseball fandom from his youth (along with Frank Howard's streaky power and Eddie Brinkman's smooth fielding).
I'm an older guy (45) with vivid memories of baseball games and stories as they were happening as far back as 1984. and the baseball history of the 50s 60s and 70s was recent baseball history when i was a kid. I did very well at this one the nolan ryan question tripped me up. I guessed 1987. On the last question i guessed 1982. That was in my blind spot. I didn't collect cards much before 1986 and that was my "baseball reference" pre-internet. My final score? 7. those were literally the only two questions i missed. My favorite quiz ever! 💙
Nice work Lucas! You need a couple more of each category, make the game a bit longer and I loved the fact you're finally doing more showcasing baseball before 2000!
Loved testing the young guys on the old baseball knowledge. Only one I was way off on was 20 k game. I thought Bob Gibson had one, but was thinking about his 17k World Series game. Definitely nailed the last question. I remember those 110 bags Coleman swiped when I was 4 years old!!
this was a super fun game and probably the best to play along with. I got 0's on the first two questions and felt great but finished with 18, second to Dalton. Keep these coming!
I enjoy this trivia content a lot, and I've come up with some ways to play along at home with some of the other games. This one was super easy to do that with, and I'd love to see more in the future. For what it's worth, I scored 19. I never would have guessed that Nolan Ryan broke the record that many years before his career was over.
Aw, Lucas you should've hit them with the Lou Gehrig question instead of using it as a cover photo. Next time. Other Suggestions: - Jackie Robinson breaks the color barrier - Only instance of the same pitcher throwing no-hitters in back-to-back starts - Youngest player to ever play in MLB debuts at age 15 - First night game at Wrigley Field - Last change to standardized field dimensions before the base size increase - a more general one: Stadium opening years
Suggestions for moments - Larsen's no-hitter, Williams hits .406, McLain wins 30, DiMaggio hits in 56 straight, Molitor hits in 39 straight, Giants almost move to Toronto, Oh passes Hank Aaron, Rickey steals 130, Dave Stieb loses no-hitters in two straight starts (Jolly will appreciate a good Dave Stieb reference), Blue Jays beat Phillies 15-14 in a World Series game, First year of the LCS, Fernandomania, Arod signs for $250M, Birth of Arizona and Tampa, Boone's Game 7 homer, First All-Star game, Ichiro's rookie year, Cy Young wins No. 500, Jackie breaks the colour barrier, Randy Johnson throws over Kruk's head in All-Star game, and Ryan pitches no-hitter No. 7.
This might be my favorite video you have ever done. I crushed this. If you ever want someone to have a knowledge throw down with Lucas on something like this, hit me up.
You guys should take the biggest ball knowers and put them on camera for a trivia all star game. Just shoot the most obscure stuff out there and let them battle it out
Add me to the pile of people asking for more of this. It was fun to watch, but aside from that, it's also the perfect format for anyone who likes testing themselves against the video. (39 points, FWIW, and I nailed the last two questions through sheer luck. I have no idea who Vince Coleman even is.) With other videos like scattergories or the stat drafts, playing along doesn't work because each competitor's choices affect what the others could do. It's also better than the "since 2000" games for the casual fan that wants to play along because those games require a pretty detailed knowledge of the sport during the timeframe. This video focused more on very well known, historic moments and players that even casual fans mostly know about. Even the Billy Ripken photo gave enough context clues that I was within five years without ever having heard of him before. That being said I may have actually guessed way earlier because I wasn't sure if he was Cal's brother or dad until Ryan said something about them being brothers.
I like this format because you can always hazard a guess. When the answer to a question is a random player from the AL central that I've never heard of it's harder to play along.
I would love some trivia centered around silly moments from seasons like “rally squirrel” or “grimace” and like u get the team and the year or something. I wish I knew more baseball history u guys have the dream
This format was great! I definitely would like a sicko's version that's almost all pre-expansion or even pre-integration, but you have to have the right contestants for that. Also I like the hard questions being ones where you have to know multiple bits of trivia, like when did Nolan Ryan pass Walter Johnson. I knew Ryan pitched until '93 and had >5500 K, but I wasn't quite sure how many Johnson had or how many K's per season Ryan got in his later years.
Would love to see more and some earlier history! There's so much 20th-century baseball that remains iconic and it'd be a shame to limit "history" to what oldies music stations consider "oldies."
Someone at Jomboy got a TWO?!?! We need a separate trivia tourney for all the INSANE research freaks (lovingly) at JM Also Lucas please do more of these this was fun. Proud to say I played along and lost by a WIDE margin
I’d love seeing more of these. But WHAT ABOUT doing a quick film of the same questions with Mike. Just have him talk through it and get sub 5 points every time
would love to see a “how well do you remember X season” where they try to remember smaller details that happened mid season that may have been forgotten or that turned out to be significant later on like deadline moves/managerial firings, etc
NICE! I tied Dalton by knowing the last question via Coleman. Hardest was the 20 strikeouts which I got spot on but was worried that maybe some old timer did it. Worst result was a -7 on the Nolan Ryan. I had 4 exact years, 2 of them on Hard. Good format because my score is unaffected by the panels.
this was awesome! i was doing pretty well until the 20 strikeout game question, but i guessed it would have been in 1969 so i was way off. a word of warning for future rounds though, check to make sure the year isn't on the picture! using the SI cover for hank aaron's home run record is cool but it said April 15th 1974 on the screen!
This was fun because you can play along at home. Aaron passing Ruth I remembered because in 2024, they had the 50th anniversary. Ryan passing Johnson I said 1980 off a little because I knew he had more than 2000 Ks left. 40 years old so I was good at the 90s questions, final score of 6 points
I had the pleasure of sitting with Curt Mouton who was a scout/coach for the Orioles at a game in Toronto in 1989 and he said, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, Billy Ripken can play!
Great idea for a video. Think y’all could add some categories also like maybe play a famous call from tv or radio, World Series match up years, or maybe even standings (maybe not show the entire standings but at least most of it? Idk)
I used to work with Billy Ripken in my days researching for MLBN. You knew he was coming because every time he’d dribble around a baseball like it was a basketball. Never had the heart to ask him about the card.
Old heads like me (42?!) had an advantage for many of the 80s-90s q’s. I finished this with a score of 6. Was off on Henry Aaron’s 715 photo by one year (1973) Was off on Nolan Ryan’s new K record by three years (1986) Missed the ROY by second guessing my correct 1985 guess by writing 1983 (+2)
Hear me out, ‘Stump the Schwabe’ but it’s just Lucas Diversa. Jake is stu scott (host) & let’s get this production underway already. I’ll only take the pleasure of watching every episode.
This was great, formal request for more. I always enjoy when the trivia isn't just the last 20 years.
Ikr theyre missing out on so many classic stats
This is a GREAT format. And I love Diversa dispensing knowledge. I want hard mode to see some really embarrassing answers. Lol
Yeah the last 25 years is the least interesting era of the big leagues. So homogenized and sterilized.
They’ll need new people these guys don’t know anything before 2000
Great format. More please. Dalton’s favorite year was an absolute banger of a line. I laughed way too hard.
Love having Lucas create this as us Old Heads could actually do well.
actually?
I, for one, would love a JM Baseball Creatures video. Just the few times Lucas has gotten to show off his knowledge have been fun to watch.
That was awesome ! Just wanna say, this Lucas-Jolly-Ryan-Dalton combo is the best among all the team in m'y opinion. I wanted this to be longer !
“Dalton’s favorite year” made me spit my drink out.
I knew exactly what Ryan meant when he said it, took me a second to figure out why everyone else reacted how they did lol
This might be my favorite trio from the whole group
Good video, this was too short. Really like the idea of showing a famous picture and then guessing. Needs to be longer and also can be done on JM Football too.

Hahaha love the dalton World Series favorite year joke. This is why Ryan is my favorite. That's why I liked the video.
Excellent concept, excellent execution! So says this old head (43). I got 7 also. They needed older questions like Merkle's Boner or Old Hoss Radbourne or the famous wife-swap....
Love it. Make it longer!!!
Nice work Lucas! You need a couple more of each category, make the game a bit longer and I loved the fact you're finally doing more showcasing baseball before 2000!
Got them all, then again, I teach a class on Baseball History so I better get them all correct. Fun game.
these 3 + lucas is the formula boys i'll watch as many as you put out
More of this. Very fun.
Thanks for that awesome cameo, Jolly!! That was nice of you to say you liked the Phillies chances lol. My son loved it!!

Loved this! Keep this format around as it really gets more diversity in knowledge
Please do this game again. Love the format! ⚾⚾⚾
Awesome game! You could add famous media calls "I don't believe what I just saw" example.
This might be my favorite video you have ever done. I crushed this. If you ever want someone to have a knowledge throw down with Lucas on something like this, hit me up.
The date for the Hank question was literally written on the magazine and you left it on the pic
Yeah but it's likely to small for them to read.
Finally a game I’m good at, scored 4. Definitely do more. Thank You.
You guys should take the biggest ball knowers and put them on camera for a trivia all star game. Just shoot the most obscure stuff out there and let them battle it out
this was great!!! maybe do 5 questions each round.
I like this format a lot, each round keeps it fresh
This was awesome! Do more of these!

this was so fun, definitely want to see more of them!
Great idea for a game, Lucas! This was fun to watch. Maybe next time has 5 rounds: awards, rookie year, retirement, newsworthy event, record year.
I absolutely love this game, would love to see this more regularly!
Definitely want to see more of these. Great format!
I appreciate this because I can play along at home and not feel like I'm cheating or taking away from their answers. I scored a 21!
Lucas, cheers to you 🥂 You have my undying respect for using the Rick face card!!!
really good game! also love that you went pre-2000 for your stats. looking forward to the next one
I liked this format, Lucas makes a great host.
I love this game idea. Yes on more of these for suuuure
This one was fun. Great game Lucas.
Definitely need more of this!
More! I would love to see more content featuring trivia from pre-2000 eras.
Absolutely fantastic game. Had all the things that make these fun.
Scored a 12! Love this, please do more!
I like this one!! Super fun and simple and easy to play along
This format was great! I definitely would like a sicko's version that's almost all pre-expansion or even pre-integration, but you have to have the right contestants for that. This is a great format because we can play along and the score applies to us as well
Loved this concept! Maybe a category for next time could be a still image before a famous at-bat or defensive play
I’d love seeing more of these. But WHAT ABOUT doing a quick film of the same questions with Mike. Just have him talk through it and get sub 5 points every time
Love this idea. Anything by the historian freak Lucas is great
This is a great game! keep it coming! I tied Dalton with 17
Loved it! And more rounds.
would love to see a “how well do you remember X season” where they try to remember smaller details that happened mid season that may have been forgotten or that turned out to be significant later on like deadline moves/managerial firings, etc
NICE! I tied Dalton by knowing the last question via Coleman.

Good format because my score is unaffected by the panels.
loved this one, got 21 myself, 20 strikeout game threw me off by 11, i thought clemens did it in NY his first time
Love it Lucas. Jolly could’ve never thought of something like this. Just kidding
Banger vid, would love more
15. Nailed the last one exactly to pull out the win.
11 points. 0 in round 1, 6 in round 2, 5 in round 3. Got the Billy Ripken one spot on because I have the card on my book shelf.
Great format! Easy to play along! I got 32 😅 atta boy Lucas! Good game Dalt
this was awesome! i was doing pretty well until the 20 strikeout game question, but i guessed it would have been in 1969 so i was way off. a word of warning for future rounds though, check to make sure the year isn't on the picture! using the SI cover for hank aaron's home run record is cool but it said April 15th 1974 on the screen!

Good game. I had 11 points playing along at home. I nailed all three hard and easy ones, oddly enough. The mediums got me.
I used to work with Billy Ripken in my days researching for MLBN. You knew he was coming because every time he’d dribble around a baseball like it was a basketball. Never had the heart to ask him about the card.
Loving these games
Old heads like me (42?!) had an advantage for many of the 80s-90s q’s. I finished this with a score of 6.
Was off on Henry Aaron’s 715 photo by one year (1973)
Was off on Nolan Ryan’s new K record by three years (1986)
Missed the ROY by second guessing my correct 1985 guess by writing 1983 (+2)
another great format
I was just under daulton at 15. The nolan ryan one got me, for some reason, I was thinking the 1990s as well with the rangers
Great video idea because we can play along and keep our score as well without interference from yalls answers ☝🏻🤓
This was a great one.
This was a lot of fun!
Great game lets make it an ongoing series!!
My score was two (good game for the older fan). Missed 1 on Billy Ripken and 1 on Nolan breaking the strikeout record.
awesome game! More Lucas!
Great video. Great new game.
This was great I really like when the turn tables....
ya need a die-hard Redsox fan out of NJ? 😂 I'm playing along and I'm killing these!
I like this. Please more.
Excellent trivia game
seeing vince coleman shoutout got me very excited
I have a PSA 10 of that 1989 Bill Ripken FF error card so seeing that pop up here was great.
Really fun game especially because we can play along 👍
Easily the hardest game for me at least but a fun watch as always
Hear me out, ‘Stump the Schwabe’ but it’s just Lucas Diversa. Jake is stu scott (host) & let’s get this production underway already. I’ll only take the pleasure of watching every episode.
More of this, maybe even another round that has to do with player careers or debuts or something team related
love this new game!!
Cool format, easy to play along with at home. I got 11
The answer to the second image was in the image. All Sports Illustrated covers show the date of publication.
