  • Tomy Enterprise on electric rotating platform.
    Gorgeous model! Folks who missed out on this one should be kicking themselves. Die cast and unique. A few nits, but nothing to really distract from the beauty of this in any practical terms. Remove the front piece and add a bit of epoxy to the back of the base-support so the little screws don't have to work so hard! The model will be fine without the front support. hope Tomy does more!

    I think that model is definitely worth the money regardless of the screw covers that people are complaining about. It is fine guys the model is beautiful.

      Yeah collectors can be drama queens. Weigh overblown with the screw covers and seams! The model is awesome in person! So happy to own one! : )

      @@nelsonc6173 I work in the film biz. We had a production party last night with industry folk. People guessed this model cost 3 go 5K and not one noticed seams or screw covers. Collectors seriously missed the boat on this one. In person this is the best production model I've seen.

      I think the average person wonders why they just didn't put the "ugly side" in the back so you don't see them. It is illogical to have a nice side and an ugly side and chose to feature the ugly side. How much engineering would it really take to just feature the side without the holes? None, just some common sense and that idea that you always display the best side, then no one even cares about the hole covers.

    I still think the end spheres should light up because in the show at times they had the illusion that they did

    Bought the turntable and sending it back. At the slowest speed it stutters slightly, and for the price imho it is louder than it should be.

    I thought you figured out how to get the lights on wired. That rotation looks lovely, just don't have the room for a 360 movement.

      No, still using batteries. But they seem to last a long time so far. I see no easy way to get this thing wired up.

    You're the only person I've seen make mention of what seems obvious from here. Why not fill the underside pockets of the base stand with epoxy resin and some lead weights. The more the base weighs the more stable it will be overall seems to me.

    • @robertbrody4032

      I simply added a few drops of epoxy to make sure the base couldn't move. The saucer section has not drooped a fraction of a millimeter. 100% rigid. No issues with the saucer support removed.

    Really nice display!!! Where did you get the rotating display? I'd be into that!

    • @robertbrody4032
      @robertbrody4032  9 місяців тому +5

      The display is made from two parts. The first is an electric rotating base sold on Amazon as JAYEGT motorized stand. It's rated for 265 lbs capacity. On top of that is a 1/4 inch thick 20 inch plexiglass disc, also ordered off amazon and painted black. Pretty simple. Total cost was about 125 dollars. The base can rotate in either direction and at different speeds.
