The Road Warriors Have Done it Again! Panthers Are One Win Away From The Stanley Cup Final!

- On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday. The guys break down Florida's 3-2 win for the Panthers over the New York Rangers from Madison Square Garden to take a 3-2 series lead. The first period saw the Rangers getting the majority of the shots on net, but the Panthers getting more of the quality. Rangers were first to get on the scoresheet after Matthew Tkachuk turned the puck over on the PP and Chris Kreider got his goal of the series short handed. Florida would then score just over six minutes later after Gustav Forsling got through the Rangers defense in transition, his shot trickled off the left pad of Igor Shesterkin and off the crossbar and in to tie the game at one. The Cats would be the team in the third period to once again tilt the ice in their favor and they didn't stop after they killed off a penalty in the third where they had a hard time gaining the zone. Florida then got another goal off a quick one-and-done by the Rangers as Anton Lundell's shot with a screening Vladimir Tarasenko got past the blocker of Shesterkin to give the Panthers a 2-1 at 10:22. Bennett later added on an empty net goal, and even though New York made a push with Alexis Lafreniere cutting it to a 3-2 game with the extra attacker, but it was too little too late as the Panthers took Game 5 from Madison Square Garden and are now coming back home with a 3-2 series lead and are now one win away from their second consecutive trip to the Stanley Cup Final. As a Rangers fan Florida is just the better team, we all knew this going in but the Rangers had a great season with a lot of magic. Florida has squashed that magic and deserves to win this series. Good luck in the Finals

We don’t have to match, but Had zero complaints about Eetu’s performance. We mentioned him taking shifts in Lorentz’s spot and his role being elevated.
Great win! That victory was a total team effort. Where are all the "classy" Ranger fans (trolls) that came here to gloat after Game 3? Let's hope the President's Trophy curse remains in effect for them and the Cats can wrap this series up tomorrow night. Rangers will be playing with desperation (elimination game) so the Panthers need to match their intensity.
C'mon Cats, finish the series already so no more talk of the Rangers till next season.
Chucky had to look and see every player was off the ice and protected the puck. He admitted that. They seem to get stronger going into the third period. Bennett taking and winning faceoffs. Seems healthier. Look out. Punches ZBJ in the face and takes off and scores the game winner into the empty net. Rangers changing the way they stand up on the blue line on the PP need to tweak that. Two more posts. Forecheck game needs to be better earlier in the game too. First time the Rangers have been in a desperate position the whole playoffs lets see how they handle it. Thought Okposo is a force in the O Zone. Needless to say finish the job at home baby.
Why was the ice so bad ?
They have an old cooling sytem and msg is always busy with concerts nba etc were as Amerant is modern and dedicated generally said to be good
They probably also don’t have modern HVAC which impacts ice condition too. They tried offsetting ice condition by making the building colder which everyone complained how cold was the building.
Panthers have to stop passing it laterally and backwards when they’re at the offensive blue line. For the love of gawd, STOP!!!!!

He was a star for both of us, but the people who voted for it left him out. He was under appreciated.
