I’ve been an Islanders fan since 1975. I remember that year the Isles went down 3-0 twice. They came back and beat the Penguins but lost game 7 to the Flyers who went on to win the Cup. This has been an entertaining series and I am looking forward to game 7. Hoping that the Panthers will find a way to win. (I respect the Oilers but given my allegiance I can’t bring myself to root for them). Good luck Cats.

All will be forgotten and a lot of people will have a good laugh(panther fans/players/media) about it as long as panthers win, close game or not. Doesn’t matter how they do it but man they haven’t done themselves any favours. Losing puck battles, bad turnovers/defensive breakdowns. A power play that has been ass. Bob not being anywhere near good enough. Their best players not playing their best game to game. Talk about one tense ass team. They gotta just forget all this and focus on game 7. Keep it simple, play smart and clean hockey. Also would help if they could generate more chances and shots lol. They need to score that first goal to feel good about themselves and go from there. Hope for the panthers sake they play a great game and win cuz lemme tell u if they lose they’ll never get live that down and be the brunt of all jokes for years. It’s a bad thing to have on your hockey resume and be known as “chokers” Hope they find a way to win cause they’re a good team with a lot of likeable guys.

A quick comment about the offside challenge: Knoblauch called a timeout to better look at the play before making the challenge. While it's true the the Oilers were statistically safe if the challenge failed, Knoblauch did take a risk, if only by calling his timeout early.

Sorry for panthers fans but your elite players are not on the same levels as oilers one. I mean look at Evan bouchard , hyman and mcdavid stats in these playoffs . Theres insane!

Canucks fan here. I honestly thought the Canucks could go all the way and beat Oilers but that didn't happen. Now the Oil has made me a believer. Panthers are choking and slipped on the Oil and can't get back up. Oilers will win the cup in game 7.

The Panthers have recached the Stanley Cup finals, two years in a row, that takes a toll on any team. Lost's of games, and lots of time on the ice, travel and pressure. Not too many teams get to the finals back-to-back, let alone go into 7 games. They are probably very tired, the mistakes seem to show it, lapses, and just exhaustion.

Oilers finished regular season 3 wins less than Panthers . panthers were only 5 th overall Oilers 9 th . Oilers spotted the league a 20 point head start.. Oilers better defense , better offense , better goaltending smarter coaching during playoffs .. just how i think ..

Holy crap! Blaming Bob for any of this is beyond unbelievable. The whole damn team has let him down. This series would have been over if not for him. Tkachuk has been an absolute ghost in this series. Verhaeghe has been a colossal disaster on the ice. Reinhart has made no case for bringing him back. Our special teams have been an embarrassment. Our defensemen have been outplayed, and Montour can't be gone soon enough. The defense, as a whole, from the dmen to the forwards, has been a complete shyteshow. Bob is last on the list of guys I can blame for the situation we find ourselves in now. Yes, it would be great for Bob to completely carry us through the Finals and put on the greatest goalie performance in the history of the game. Because thats exactly what he was doing. Try putting blame on the true no-shows. We can also stop shooting meatballs at Skinner that any Beer league goalie can stop. One more game and we'll be able to hyper scrutinize this series till the end of time. #GOCATSGO

It's interesting to hear people say, "...it hasn't happened since 1942, blah blah." It's sports and there's long periods of time between bad beats, records being broken and all kinds of histories. You can't make mistakes when playing the Oilers. They will sting you. They have really unnerved the Pathers. They have a big psychological advantage. If I was a Panther coach, I would find a way to get physical and get the Oilers off their game. However, the Oilers are well coached and disciplined.

Edmonton has been doing speed drills in practices (starting after the game 3 loss), and this has sped up their team tremendously

The Pathers have to slow the Oilers down. They have exceptional speed, skill and depth. Pathers have to get physical. I think the Oilers also have a better coaching staff.

I hate to say it but the oilers are going to win. The cats are getting way out played. It's over for the cats.

One final point, and then I’ll bow out. Rooting for your team is noble. But denigrating another team is mean spirited and petty. You can say it’s retribution for comments made against your team, but two wrongs don’t make a right and you are accountable for your own actions. All the players involved on both teams are trying their best. Don’t be a hater!

Oh, and by the way, you can’t have it both ways. If you believe the Oilers are the much much better team, as most people on this thread do, then the fact that Florida won the first three was a remarkable achievement on their part combined with some luck. The fact that they then are losing the final four is simply a function of the fact they were always inferior. The only way they would be choking is if they were actually the better team which most of you are saying they are not! Said more succinctly, you can’t choke unless you’re the better team. Maybe Florida got lucky and then reality set in. Or maybe they played above their heads but ultimately the cream rose to the top. But if they were the inferior team, it is a mischaracterization to say that they choked.

Let’s face it. This isn’t Florida against Edmonton. It’s a bunch of Canadians with a few Americans against a bunch of Canadians with a few Americans. The Panthers just happen to be wearing shirts that say Florida on them. It’s been a fun series to watch, but the cities themselves have nothing to do with it. Any geographical attachment you have to either team is a function of your own ego. If you love hockey, just enjoy game seven regardless of who wins because either way it’ll be a bunch of Canadians hoisting the cup as it always has been and frankly always should be. Hockey is Canada’s national sport. And by the way, if you are tempted to feel sorry for the Florida players, don’t. At least they have no state income tax to worry about and get to live where the palm trees sway…

Even the first two games, I taught Oilers were the better team and goals didn’t go in. They adjusted remember they only played them once in regular season. They are outplaying the Panthers. Period.

I don't have a favorite hockey team because I don't follow the sport so I'm coming in with an outside view. It's clear to me that the Oilers clearly have posed a problem to the Panthers that they haven't been able to solve. Previous series or even seasons mean nothing. Each series are unique and it's clear the Panthers don't have an answer for whatever the Oilers are doing now. I can't see the Panthers winning this game. Oilers are playing better and clearly want it more.

Sure is going to be a fun flight for the Oilers back to Edmonton with The Stanley Cup on board.

Oilers fan. Y’all peaked early, but when we adapted and changed the way we play, it seems the Panthers couldn’t. Anything could happen next game, but if the panthers want to win, they have to change. They have to play faster, and different. You can’t be a one-trick pony in this game. It would also help to stop playing between the whistles. Also, as fans, you need to be humble. Nothing is ever a sure thing in this game.

Rangers fan here. I feel for you Panthers fans. Before the 3rd period of game 6 against Carolina I had no doubt the Rangers were going to blow that series. They were walking corpses. It was painful. But out of nowhere, Kreider lit it up and that was that. Anything can happen in hockey. These are different teams and different circumstances, but the Panthers can win game 7 if they pull their shit together.

I think the Panthers roster celebrated a bit too hard after game 3. Drank a bit too much, partied etc. 😂

If the Panthers do lose it will be rather sad. As an organization they've managed to turn themselves into a Stanley cup contending team after decades of being a joke of the NHL. Much like the Oilers and their decade of ineptitude but I think either way the game goes both teams have a lot to be proud of.
