Panthers Take Game 3 In Edmonton 4-3 And Are Now One Win Away From Winning The Stanley Cup!

- On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is joined by Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) to break down the Panthers' 4-3 win in Edmonton to take Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, where the Panthers are one win away from winning the Stanley Cup. Edmonton controlled the pace, similarly to game one, but with not as many breakaways. Florida stayed composed as they were tight in their zone, quick to get the puck out and were once again opportunistic on their rush chances with taking what the Oilers were giving them once again. Florida already came into Game 3 up 2-0 without playing their best, but the stars were not going to be maintained for long as every Panther who scored got their first of the series (Reinhart, Tarasenko, Bennett, Barkov). The Panthers used a 6:19 stretch in the second period to blow it open, where it left Edmonton needing some type of response to make it a game. Although Edmonton's PP did not have a shot attempt to start the third, they got two goals off redirections to cut it close, but a Bobrovsky save on McLeod after the Oilers cut the deficit to one was the final touch to prevent overtime and put a bow on Bobrovsky's incredible night in net. The guys give their three stars of the game, when they thought the game was won, and chat about the Panthers being one win away from raising Lord Stanley's Cup. As a Sabres fan, I can't believe the Panthers have it won before Buffalo. It's 54 years and counting for us now. But Zito has put together a great organization, even replacing great coaches and great players with other great coaches and great players. And it works. They're tough and they're talented, built for the finals. Kudos and hopefully you'll never see an empty stadium again.

Anyone who would want the Panthers to lose Game 4 so they could win on home ice is not a real fan. That type of selfish thinking is the antithesis of this team's DNA. When you have your opponent on the ropes, you go for the kill shot. We're off to a great start but this is not over. Barkov said it himself speaking about Game 4, "We know it's going to be the hardest game for sure. We don't take anything for granted. Every single day is one day at a time. Whether it's one period, one shift, we take it one at a time. That's how we've been all year."
