Fiala's way better as a player, but in terms of what the teams that drafted them got out of each of them, they're pretty similar. Fiala just happened to improve after moving, Ritchie kinda stagnated at least i'm hoping what he meant by putting them both as meh, idk what other justification there could be lol
The Wild traded Tuch as a way to prevent Vegas from taking Dumba. They expected Dumba to be a good offensive defenseman after trading Burns to the Sharks. It doesn't seem like that bad of a decision until Dumba injured his shoulder in '18-'19 and his shot was never the same since. Sucks that the Wild gave up on Tuch considering that they need a player like him the most right now.
Also, I feel like Fabbri is better than he gets credit for. His low numbers on Detroit are because of deployment as well as not having a lot of touches in the O-zone. At one point last year, Fabbri had the 3rd highest shooting % in the league. He just needs more opportunities to shoot the puck. I hope he gets that opportunity on the Ducks this year because I'm definitely gonna miss him on the Wings
Loved the video, as someone who is still relatively new to following NHL these types of videos are super informative and entertaining. Only thing is the success and bust sound effects are way louder than the volume of everything else so it’s a little jarring. Other than that though great vid 👍
Sam Reinhart has a similar style as his defenceman father Paul. Once Calgary got/developed some great PP point men in 87-89, they would play Paul at center when advantageous. He was such a great tactical player.
Mr. Irrelevant from 2014 Jacob Middleton over 200 gp will likely get 300 next season the middle player of 3 straight 7th rnd picks to have a significant NHL career drafted by LA in the 7th rnd
6:28 If it wasn't for the ghost of Cam Neely still haunting the Canucks organization, Virtanen would have been moved a couple years before the allegations. He was big, and could skate, but that was it. He had no head for the game, and no finish. Plays died on his stick. Such potential just wasted.
I seen Bennett play for Kingston in his rookie year. It was the pre-season games. I said it then. I hope the Leafs have an eye on that kid cause he’s gonna be in the NHL for years. Wish the Leafs had that draft pick. I know ow they would have picked him. He is a dirty player. But he can play the game. He is what the Leafs need. But Panthers got to him first in a trade. #sad lol.
As a Panther fan, I'd tell you that Bennett has been indispensable. He has been a disappointment on the offensive side during the regular season, no doubt. Can't argue that Bennett was a bust for Calgary but his numbers went up in the postseason on Calgary as well as with the Panthers. I can't see the Panthers having the success that they've had without him (President's Cup and two Finals). He has been a top 6 forward on this team and his hard hitting defense has been critical. Bottom line is that he has performed like a top 4 player in the postseason and has been Hall of Fame good as a two way player when it mattered most.
He has been a disappointment? A 40-50 point guy that you got for a 4th and a meh prospect is a disappointment? Lol 😂. Your second half of your message is correct tho 100%.
@@Tyekiller115 Sorry, I stand corrected. I usually edit my posts while I'm typing and I screwed up. I didn't mean that he was a disappointment on the Panthers, I meant that he was a disappointment on Calgary in the regular season and initially typed that but obviously didn't edit my post correctly when I changed what I was typing.
How is Ritchie not a bust? He’s meh if he was picked in the 4th round or later. But 10th overall and a meh? For what? Anaheim got 43 goals out of him in 5 years. That’s something you sign a free agent for 1 mil to do, not a 10th overall pick. At least Virtanen got 55 goals. BUSTED
I'm not sure that physical 2C and playoff performer on a cup-winning team in his prime is a disappointment for a 4th overall. For Calgary, sure. None of the Panthers fans care.
The reason why is because Rink is a caps fan, and us caps fans know how vital Vrana was in the cup run, having extremely clutch goals. Now, I do believe Fiala should have been a success, but that's his decision.
Pretty crazy that all of the first 4 picks in this draft are currently in the Cup Finals, and 3 of them on the same team. Talk about perfect timing.
7:56 that is an insane tweet to show on the screen
I know this dude didnt put Kevin Fiala in the same category as nick ritchie 😭

@@highgogoatI mean Nashville still got some great years out of granlund from picking Fiala
The Panthers at NHL 2014 Draft: "We have no. 1 pick, let's take Ekblad, and in years let's trade for the rest of the top talent in this draft."
Gotta give it to them they built their team a lot off of players other teams thought were done

Great video homie. Your channel is gonna blow up soon.

What Ekblad's career could have been if not for injuries. Still a legit top 2 dman but he could've been one of the greats
Yup the fact he could come back as good as he has after that broken leg really shows how good he is.
Imagine telling someone in 2014 that the last pick of the draft would be way better than the fifth pick
Dam florida loved this draft class

Brendan perlini the best sports youtuber
23:30 you said traded with Ryan Bjugstad… its Nick Bjugstad
I can assure you sabre fans and management did not expect Reinhart to fizzle out in Florida
Dean Lombardi left us with that kempe parting gift
That Honka part didn’t make sense, if he’s an offensive defencemen with a light frame at 5’10 how in the heck did he draw comparisons to Ristolainen?
The Canucks messed up Jake's development.
Virtanen could've taken his job seriously.

The inconsistency in volume is extremely annoying
Bennett for the flames is an absolute bust although I'm happy he's found a home in Florida
lol not a bust just mismanaged
The sound editing is awful. Volume broken?
he is literally the best player out of germany, how in the world are you sayin hes not the german gretzky?

RIP Nic Kerdiles
There need to be an "ok" level between meh an success. Ekblad is absolutely not meh, Vrana is not a success.
benett praised by hus physicality? he wasnt even able to do ONE pull up and ONE chin up LOL
He had a fucked up shoulder when that happened
Still running with this bs?
Vrana a success? Ehhhhh....
A successful bust for sure
How is Vrana a success and Fiala a meh?
