@mufaPufaDha : I'm happy that this tut helped you ! I'm not working for lego at all, i'm just a fan. I'm using them because i've just realised a "huge" project based on lego recently (cf. other videos). I've modelised all the pieces from A to Z, as close as possible from the real ones.
Yes of course it's possible ! You can have one "sub-scene" with your universal joint assembly (rigged) and then you can merge these in what I would call your "big assembly scene" and copy the objects (as many as you want). Only be careful with the good positing of the universal joint (engine piece must be the engine one ;) )
With the objet you want to change the pivot selected : Go in Hierarchy Panel --> Affect Pivot Only Once this button clicked, you manipulate the pivot itself.
@solarfactory : thanks for your kind words mate ! I've looked at one of your Solar Roller videos : this "stupid tube" is just genius !!! Are you the creator of this ? Anyway, this is a nice challenge you're giving to me and - in a first time - i'll try to make a demo video of it using only 3dsmax (no extra plug-ins).
Is it possible to create a universal joint assembly (functioning) and add it ti another assembly (e.g. electric motor and shaft) and it will also operate like a uni joint? is there a best practice on this (ps still working out universal joint mate...)
... probably one of the best tutorial to understand the basic rules for constraints in 3DS Max, with an incredible piece of Lego! Thanks :-)
This is amazing thank you very much subbed. Rigging mechanical parts tutorial very needed. :) Thank you again for your time.

great tutorial
thank you for posting this video.
do you know how to modify the pivot point of an object after it's already been made?
With the objet you want to change the pivot selected :
Go in Hierarchy Panel --> Affect Pivot Only

can you make hexapod rigging tutorial ?
Check out my hexapod tutorial ua-cam.com/video/MS1IVo1QB78/v-deo.html
would this method be used to rig a transformer? rather than a biped? can this method be used to rig a human?
never mind, found out :)
