Cloth modifier - influence of the meshing
Переглядів 36512 років тому
In this very little video, you can see 2 setups only differenced by the meshing solution (cloth preset : Polyester). * The left one is generated by a Make Garment Modifier (MGM), with a relatively high density. * The right one is a cylinder cap (CC) with a lot of sides & cap segments. You can see that the rolling is totally different due to the meshing of each cloth : the one based on MGM is cl...
Tutorial - Deforming a cloth with the move of a solid object
Переглядів 97313 років тому
Next a request of SolarFactory (ua-cam.com/users/solarfactory) to explain him how to make in Max something similar to one of his real case, here's a tutorial covering the Cloth Modifier. In this tutorial, we'll cover : * The drawing & meshing of a spline representing the cloth you want to simulate, * The setup of a basical "cloth simulation scene", * The simulation of the cloth. NOTE : I think ...

Here's a demonstration of a 3d simulation of a Solar Roller System (ua-cam.com/users/solarfactory) (Max viewport capture)
Tutorial - Rig of mechanical chain - Part 2
Переглядів 109 тис.13 років тому
This video, you'll see : * how to setup an IK Spline Solver to a bone chain. * how to adjust the orientation of your bone chain on the path. * how to wire a parameter (rotation in this particular case) to the "% along path" parameter.
Tutorial - Rig of mechanical chain - Part 1
Переглядів 32 тис.13 років тому
First part of how to rig a mechanical chain. In this video, you'll understand how to define with relatively high accuracy the path of the chain. Next, how to create all the 3d objects that will represent the chain. And to finish, you'll create a bones chain based on these objects. Watch part 2 to see the fully functionnal rig.
Demo - Chain rig / animation

Tutorial covering the rig of a Universal Joint. About this rig process, main credits goes to Buzzy (3d total forumer). For any information, please post a comment ; i'll try to answer you as fast i can ;-).
Tutorial - setup of sliders for a better rig
Переглядів 8 тис.13 років тому
This video tutorial is based on a current (April 2011) personnal project : the modelisation & animation a the lego set #8868. Everything is done in 3D Studio Max 9.0. This tutorial covers the creation of a slider manipulator, its "connection" to a specific parmeter and its final setting to have a nice and clean rigged model.

This tutorial is great and goes great with a tokyo lo-fi track in the background :) Thank you!
thank you sir...
This is amazing thank you very much subbed. Rigging mechanical parts tutorial very needed. :) Thank you again for your time.
JOE REVIENS NOUS, ON RENAIT POUR LA 178EME FOIS DE NOS CENDRES
Would there be any way to add physics to this rig? I would really like to know how to make tank tracks that react physically to animation.
what is the name of this app??
3D Studio Max. All part modeled & rigged in it.
can you make hexapod rigging tutorial ?
Check out my hexapod tutorial ua-cam.com/video/MS1IVo1QB78/v-deo.html
Merci pour ce tuto très bien expliqué. Les méthodes de calcul sont très utiles.
Merci pour ce commentaire !
Very good work. :)
I have problem with spline, it makes strange bendings from vertex 4 to 10. Do you know what goes wrong? ua-cam.com/video/bP8O69Oac1o/v-deo.html
can you help me out. i have a specieal driver gear and in one of the four 90 degree quadrants there are four teeth. it contacts the spinner gear once every rotation. also the spinner gear should only spin 180 degrees then stop until the teeth get back around. any help would be appreciated.
can I get a download link to that?
yeah heather
Good video!
thank you for giving up your time to explain this
What do you have to do when the chain goes in the opposite direction of the wheel when it turns?
nvm figured it out. cool tutorial.
very depressive video, you breathe every second trough the mouth, that really disturbs . And you could omit the part with exel and math, by making the video shorter, this is not science, it's just 2 cents for newbies.couldn't resist more than few minutes, I hear only îffff îffff.
Mon adresse negey(at)hotmail.com Merci beaucoup de partager vôtres connaissances :)
great job, thanks
great tutorial
Thank you so much for amazing tutorial...!
any chance of getting the max file that you start with
Fantastic
would this method be used to rig a transformer? rather than a biped? can this method be used to rig a human?
merci joe la frite !
was ist da besser als in Blender?
Thank you for your tutorial.
... probably one of the best tutorial to understand the basic rules for constraints in 3DS Max, with an incredible piece of Lego! Thanks :-)
Merci ! Ca me sert bien ! Yes ! è_é/
thank you very much :)
nice tutor! thanks!
GAYS, IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE WITH TWISTED CHAIN - MAKE SURE, YOU DRAW CIRCLES (SPLINE PATH) IN _TOP_VIEW_ IN PREVIOUS PART OF TUTORAIL. ALL WILL BE FINE. THUMBS UP TO HELP OTHER
Does not help. I'm still having twisting because Spline IK up nodes are fucking horrid at this shit. Either way, you shouldn't rig chains like this with bones, which is a fucking pain for me, because my lecturers for some fucking reason demand it.
Can you explain please the method in brief ! i am in middle of a project and want to achieve something similar to this ! will appreciate your help !
your email id please want to post you some piks .pl guide whats going wrong
Hey after about 20 bones i missed the 21st bone as i had to pan the screen to see next 20 bones. now how do i connect the 20th bone and the 21st bone any trick pl help
he uses excel for calculation and for parts listed item so that he can always remember what number he already gone for his works. I think he made a wise decision in using an excel than simple calculator.
Nice!
Very nice tutorial showing most important secrets of animating link chain. Thanks a lot for this tutorial, I followed all it's steps one by one to solve my design. If it possible.. showing the equation of animation (script) more clearly.
i hate the way you inhale, so disgusting
With the objet you want to change the pivot selected : Go in Hierarchy Panel --> Affect Pivot Only Once this button clicked, you manipulate the pivot itself.
Yes of course it's possible ! You can have one "sub-scene" with your universal joint assembly (rigged) and then you can merge these in what I would call your "big assembly scene" and copy the objects (as many as you want). Only be careful with the good positing of the universal joint (engine piece must be the engine one ;) )
Is it possible to create a universal joint assembly (functioning) and add it ti another assembly (e.g. electric motor and shaft) and it will also operate like a uni joint? is there a best practice on this (ps still working out universal joint mate...)
Very good! Many news
I have no idea what you're talking about with the excel part. I find it hard to understand you at parts, but i managed to follow the rest of the video its just the maths part i cant get.
nice tutorial!
Very interesting tutorial, showing both the fun parts, as the parts which are part of the job, including solving problems. Good explanation ;) Will try it a.s.a.p.=D
okay
ok? Ok? So many Okay ))))))))
Hi mates ! Thanks for your feedbacks. I'm actually trying to deploy this solution in any situation (X or Y or Z plan)...but it seems max 9.0 has a problem with the Spline solver.
mais il faut just aprend l'anglais pas stress
Yeah, show us how to model and explain the whole math thing (ex. how do I measure the distance from axis to that pole on the chain, etc.)
