Thanks for showing the three engine grounds in the rear can be gotten to without pulling the intake manifold. Now if someone will explain why GM thought it was necessary to route all of the PCM grounds from the PCM to the opposite corner of the engine bay...
Thanks alot. I had no crank no spark no fuel. I had already cleaned all the other grounds. Went to check the pcm ground as you showed and the wire wasnt even attached anymore. Truck runs great after your 5 minute fix.
thanks for getting your camera back there.... Big help for your first video. Reduced engine power is frustrating if you don't know what to expect. Thanks a lot! and good luck.
Great video young man somebody there finally knows what they’re talking about here on UA-cam thank you for making this video it helps me more than you can ever imagine thank you God bless you and your family and friends and your channel hopefully it will reach 1 million soon take care and God bless you once again.✝️✝️✝️🙏🏻🇺🇸
I appreciate it brother! My 2002 Silverado has random misfires but only on bank 2. So a mechanic was kind enough to tell me it might be the ground on the engine that is causing that side to have issues? So here I am, watching a lot of videos of guys replacing or just talking & not showing where those connections/ bolts are located. So thank you for getting on top of that engine and making an awesome video!! Greetings from Oakland California
Thank you for the detailed information and location of the ground wires, and YES this’s actually the FIRST VIDEO that shows exactly where they start and get bolted to the truck or body frame. It’s all in the details!!!!! Just became a new subscriber of your channel, you deserve it!!
There is one more very important place to check and or clean and re-ground. Directly under the driver side on the frame between the driver door and front fender. A throttle by cable engine will have one bolt with two ground wires on it and a throttle by wire engine will have two ground bolts with 1 bolt having two grounds and the second bolt having one ground wire. A bad connection at this point can cause misfires fuel issues no throttle issues etc
Thanks for pointing that out. I have fixed the grounds in the video plus under the seat. Pull back the plastic conduit under the seat as one of the two ground wires can break from eyelet and you wouldn't know. Also clean grounds at the frame, under the core support, drivers side. ALL grounds are important.
I signed on had to say I have read and watched countless videos about this ground strap you are the only one that actually showed where it went very nice
Great video. It’s not just the connection to the bolt and washer that oxidizes but also the crimp to wire connection that goes bad. On my 09 H2 the ignition ground on drivers side of engine had this problem. I cut the crimp off the wires and soldered new wire to the old so it could reach the battery post. It idles smoother now than it has for a year, go figure.
Thank you for your first video you saved me from 2 months of nightmare have a 03 Suburban had been a complete electrical shutdown random I replaced ECM no help you're one wire on the left side was spot on I only gave it a little tug and it came right off corroded thank you thank you thank you
I recently replaced my engine and I got the hood ground and fire wall ground mixed up. This is causing my interior powers to surge/turn off then right back on when the key is turned to run. I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT DETAILS U HAVE IN YOUR VIDEO!!! YOUR AWESOME 🤩
Good deal. You're right, nobody shows location of the spot it needs to be. There's a bunch of professional mechanics that overlook things as such and think it's of no significance
Great video!! Also wanted to mention there is one on the side left driver side of the block, close to the steering pump that goes bad or breaks sometimes too.
I have 2010 Silverado and had reduced engine power truck would start to shake then it went away came back few weeks later check engine light also said had something to do with cylinder number 7 I replaced that spark plug and it fixed the issue after that replaced all the rest of plugs and cables and has been perfect ever since
When you say Reduced Engine Power did you actually have the dash display tell you this . I had this happen 6 months after I bought the truck . Took it in and they said they had to reprogram the computer under warranty . 15 years later I put in a stereo system and a bigger alternator and find I have ground issues in this truck . After seeing this video I wonder if they lied to me
The second ground wire you showed is not connected to anything on mine. I just noticed it. I don’t have a “reduced engine power” but I do notice that I lacks power. Gonna connect it today and see if it fixes it.
Im having exact same issue with my '05 Silverado I have P0300 code and I replaced all 8 plugs wires and coils but still have limited power and I noticed my ground wire is very rough looking and wondered if maybe it was causing some of my issues🤷♀️
Along with the two grounds on the back drivers side there is one on the passenger side st the back and a common ground for both sides that run the coil packs it crosses over in the middle from the right side to the left side and then along the top down the front behind the alternator and power steering and back along the bottom to a bolt that attaches the main battery ground to the block if you have a crank no start check this one I have had that issue and found it broke 2inches from the bolt under the motor
great vid, there is also a few that are mounted under the drivers seat on the frame where the parking brake cable is, mine are so rusty im going to do them first, im blowing the p300 no designated cylinder so im guessing its a ground somewhere
another location on a 2004 sierra is on the engine block, drivers side under exhaust manifold. the batt negative cable is there along with another smaller gauge wire. mine broke and truck would crank, no start. i even checked it and cleaned the connection but was worn enough where it was still faulty. relocated smaller ground.
Thank u for sharing! It does help. We have been trying to figure put where that 1st ground location was. Were having same issues also. So did cleaning ur grounds and relocating the 2nd ground help or fix it?
Couple years ago my fuel gauge quit working. I replaced the pump then. It stayed the same Yesterday 2years later very little miles it would not start fuel pump dead. I am guessing its going to be ground wires.
Yeah certainly my problem on some cases at least and now I am putting the motor back in after a rebuild because of a spun cam bearing and wiring is a nightmare on this truck.
tnx a million,,,never was able to find a descriptive video like yours,,,,i was going mad,,,my rookie mistake was not to check my grounds,,,,,i replaced ecm,,nothing,,,was hearing some noise when moving ecm around,,but because it was grounding while i was doing that,,,than checked my ecm ground,,,,im like what a pendejo,,,lol,,,tnx again,,,,,
Thank you for the video I have been battling reduced engine power for awhile now. I replaced gas pedal, throttle body, and throttle actuator control. Still comes on. I couldn’t find the passenger ground wire. I’m going to do a new ground tomorrow hopefully that works.
So I went ahead and put new all new grounds. I did not remove the old grounds I just put new ones in place. Firewall to alternator bracket, alternator bracket to ground on battery, ground on battery to frame rail. So far is has not had the “REP” in 500 miles. Before that it was happening multiple times per day
@@moejr14 sorry I just saw this. No it didn’t work for me. When I replaced the throttle body I bought an Autozone brand. I ended up buying an AC Delco throttle body and that fixed it for me.
Remove the tps and grease the gears behind it. If there is no lubrication behind it it will bind and throw a code and go into limp mode. It will not work the way it was designed. I did this to mine and had zero issues after
Finally, someone who shows the real emplacement of those ground wires. on top of that you took less than 5min. great video. thanks👌👌
Thanks for showing the three engine grounds in the rear can be gotten to without pulling the intake manifold.

Facts thank you

Out of curiosity what did you do

Yes! Thank you! My wire was broke and couldn't find out where the hell it went. Greatly appreciated!

Thanks brotha you are the man. If only everyone made their videos this straightforward.
This is very much appreciated you've done a great service to your fellow man. Need more of you! Thanks

There's also a ground under the frame by the driver's side and another ground strap by your gas tank fill port👌
Wooow I wait almost 5 years for this video thank you brother
Good deal. You're right, nobody shows location of the spot it needs to be. There's a bunch of professional mechanics that overlook things as such and think it's of no significance
Great video showing where the ground wires are and where they connect 👍 I'd say this is pretty good for a first time UA-cam video! 👍
Great video!! Also wanted to mention there is one on the side left driver side of the block, close to the steering pump that goes bad or breaks sometimes too.
came here to say this too. that's the one that went bad on my 05 1500.
Funny you should mention that ground I have a gmc pickup that won't start after I changed power steering pump wonder if that's a pcm ground wire
Thank you. I've been having multiple intermittent electrical issues. Bad grounding could definitely be the cause.
Dude you saved me so much time & money. Thank you bro you're a life saver
Great video helped me out with the PCM ground
So glad I found your video cuz this damn reduced engine power been pissin me off

There is a code for Reduced Engine Power. I believe it is P300
Shit you really are the only one to really show you. Ty sir. Life saver
Thank you !!! I couldn’t find the ground strap one on the back of the engine !!!
Smart man knows what he's talking about great video
Dude seriously I appreciate you doing this video I was just thinking other day where's my ground straps located. Anyhow thank you homie gd Looken out!
Life saver installing new block and didn’t remember where the grounds were supposed to go originally 🎉
You have gained a subscriber great job for your first video 🤙🏼
Great video ,but where is the pcm ground connected i saw where on the block , but where is it the first black wire you touched connected to , thank u
yeah bro- DETROIT SAID GOOD MF LOOKING, WE ALL NEED TO KNOW THAT PART- TRUCK LIFE!
Thank you so much for this video, it is very much appreciated!!! 👍👍

Thanks for the video and the angles man, that much easier now! Gonna clean the pcm ground and get a new firewall ome!
There are I believe 2 grounds under the riverside area that needs to be cleaned too.
I appreciate this tremendously!
Do you remember how long that firewall strap is?
This is just what I needed. So what ended up being the problem??
They must have changed design a little from 03 to 05? My pcm ground was on right side with battery ground.

Thank you. Very helpful video. Saved me a bunch of time.
Did that fix your power loss issue ? What did you do, clean and reconnect them ?
Hey great video very helpful thanks.👍👍. You should do more videos.
No one shows location thank you very much.
You're awesome dude! Now I can actually try and fix my issue. Hope it works 😬🤞
thank you, very good video

Hey man what size socket is it that would be more helpful then location but thank u for the location.
Thanks!! Very helpful.
Very helpful video! Thanks.....
what about all the grounds under the truck box and frame and back bumper
Thank you for the video I have been battling reduced engine power for awhile now. I replaced gas pedal, throttle body, and throttle actuator control. Still comes on. I couldn’t find the passenger ground wire. I’m going to do a new ground tomorrow hopefully that works.

@@moejr14 that’s what I thought too and I tried everything. The AC Delco throttle body fixed it for me. It’s been 6 months with zero issues.
Just what i was looking for
Great vid! Saved me.
Omg finally. Ty
Did that ever solve your problem I'm having the same problem
Exactly what I needed to solve ½ my problem. Where does the ground strap to the right of the ground strap you showed go?
That one goes to the hood
Great video. Thanks man
The thicker ground cable is on the head or the block? I can't seem to remember where mines was located
Thank you!!!
Good shit bro👍🏽
Good job on the video
Thank you very much.
Thanks for the video bud, it did help
Thanks brother
You the man
Did you get your problem resolved? What was the issue?
This man on point 👉 👇 👌 thanks boss much respect
thanx a lot!
Forgot about the ground on drivers side of block behind power steering pump....
Thanks man 👍

Yep, It was helpful.

Hey did your truck also stay stuck in 2nd gear?
Thank you sir!
What was your truck doing
Thank Bro ur video ws grate help
THANK YOU
Thnx, it does
Thankyou so much
very helpful tks u
Where does the thin ground wire on the battery cable go to?
Front left frame just behind the left fog light assembly within the lower bumper valance cap.
Thanks sir
They are called bonding straps
I have an 03, there I have located 6 different grounds.
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing wtf!!!
