  • In this video I’ll be reviewing the bcm mk2 recoil mitigation system. I will also show you how to install it, which can be a guide to installing any buffer tube system. This includes the buffer tube, buffer, buffer spring, spring retainer kit, bcm receiver end plate, castle nut, & stock. I will also show you how to take off your existing buffer tube system. I give opinions, facts, close ups, and recommendations on this product and others. Feel free to comment down below for questions or feedback. I piece together my A5 buffer system 3yrs ago because of parts availability during Covid. I currently running the bcm mk2 buffer tube, Vltor a5h3 buffer with yes, the Geissele Super42 rifle spring on a 11.5 bcm upper. I’ve been running this set-up suppressed for years now & haven’t had any issues with the Geissele spring. I originally had a Sprinco green for a few months before switching to the Super42 & there’s definitely a performance difference.

That’s good to know. Thanks for sharing. Bcm just said they couldn’t guarantee performance. Have you noticed the performance is better when using the super 42? Only problem would be fine tuning the buffer weight with the spring. Since the super 42 has 3 strands instead of one, I’d think you would need a lighter buffer weight than usual.

I think your upper with dictate your buffer weight. I primarily run my 11.5 suppressed, however I’ve yet to encounter any reliability issues suppressed or unsuppressed with an h3 buffer using reputable ammo.

@@teddyr-2147 I agree. I figured running a heavier spring like that could possibly be the difference between an h2 or h3. Glad it’s working out for you.

I have a few MK2 BCM uppers on various lowers 14.5, 16, and 11.5. I run the same buffer system on all of them with a springco green rifle spring. Really made the 11.5 run smooth, the others I dont notice it much other then I dont hear the spring as much as a carbine length. I am about to try a black river gas tube on my 11.5 just to see if I can make it even smoother.

I have the Mk2 bfh 14.5 as well but waiting for the 11.5 to come back in stock. I haven’t heard of either of those brands but I also want to try this on the 11.5 Mk2 bfh when I get it. Bcm makes great products. I hope that black river works out for you.

I'm attempting this on my geissele lower and when I screw the buffer tube in it either just barely holds the retainer spring and nipple in or if I screw it another full rotation it touches the nipple, what do you recommend? Idk how big of a deal it is that it touches the nipple if it is I can just file the tube down a little so it retains the nipple and spring good without touching the nipple. Would love your opinion thanks

Can’t really go wrong either way but I would recommend having it screwed in where it’s barely holding the spring retainer. I prefer this so the spring retainer can move freely instead of the nipple grinding against the buffer tube. Unless it’s holding on there so little that the spring retainer could fly out. My buffer tube is usually covering 1/2 to 1/4 of the flatish surface of the spring retainer. So 1/2 to 1/4 of the way to the nipple. I’ve had no problems that way. You can try pushing it up, down, or at different angles to see if it flys out. If it doesn’t, you’re good. I try to not modify parts as much as possible, but you could file the buffer tube down a little bit if you want your buffer tube holding more surface area on the spring retainer.

@GearAndGuns I ended up filing a few 1000s off the tube and it's good to go it would have flew out unfortunately if I went with the way it was but it's good now, also warning to all who buy geissele, there qc absolutely sucks.

@@chrisrambo6810 glad that worked out for you. I haven’t bought anything from geissele besides their Ssa-e trigger.

@GearAndGuns yeah there triggers are awesome but there receivers and parts kits are always finicky. The first one I did I had to file the bolt release button down for it to fit in the lower and it was a geissele lower with the same geissele parts, idk read alot of people online having issue's with stuff not lining up as well.

@@chrisrambo6810 that’s interesting. I figured their quality would be good.
