Welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is Jess and I love doing DIY, making clothes in a "simply but pretty" way.
In today's video, I'm going to share with you how I made my first pair of jeans. This is a high waisted straight leg jeans. I can't believe that I made it. There are some techniques I didn't use to make this jeans as I didn't want to make it too complicated for my first time. But it turns out so good. So I hope you can get come inspiration out of it.
To make this jeans, please check out some of my basic information below:
- Sewing machine: Brother Auto Tension
- Material: 2m of silk cream denim fabric
- My body measurements: 80-68-92 (bust-waist-hip). I'm 165cm and usually wear Small size.

I love that it wasn't just two pieces joined at the crotch, a bit more work but it was worth it. I also liked the way you added the zipper 👍🏼

Yes, I was the same and still. Whenever thinking of sewing jeans, I feel hurt for my sewing machine. So make sure you have the right needle and thread for jeans before trying it out. Some parts of jeans really need a strong needle.

I was hoping that you would make this video, as i am loving you high waisted loose pants, so i am happy.
I am however finding it a little difficult to make my own pattern for the jeans, as the writing which is describing the measures are to fast to read. I still really appreciate your work, but a friendly suggestion from me would be to have the writing on the screen a little longer, and then maybe make sure that the voiceover fits with what is shown on the screen 😊 keep up the good work 👍

Nice pants. How would you improve fitting of the pants - there are whiskers in front.

I love your tutorial!! But may I ask what is the "the width of the leg jeans"?
i don’t understand the bottom part of the front and back pattern😢watched so many times, but still don’t know how to calculate “1/8 width of the leg jeans“ can you please tell me more about this😢 I don’t know what this part means... help!!
The width of the leg jeans is the circle at the end of the leg pants where it's right at your ankle.
Can we stitch jeans with normal sewing machines or industrial ones only? And do we have to use special needle and thread?
I made this jeans with my normal sewing machine. For the needle and thread, I use the big needle size and thicker thread for jeans.

Yes you can. My jeans fabric is a bit stretchy as well

Jess PLEASE make a not so high waisted pattern please!!! What modification would be needed??
If you don't want to make it too high waisted, you can reduce the height of the crotch line which is the first straight line in the pattern making process. That height is define weather your pants is high or low waist. The normal one would be 1/4 hip size
