I threw a poll in this video around the 2:40 mark. Which card do you think sounded better/quieter?
Gigabyte will not make an Aorus Radeon Card, since the GPP BS they haven't branded an AMD card with that brand
@@shanksisnoteventhatstrongbruh its still possible with how competitively close the 5700xt with the 2070 super is. Just because of one f up a while ago, doesn't mean it wont happen. Being adamant about anything being a surety in the tech world is kind of, well, short sided.
I could live with the PowerColor card, but the Gigabyte card had an annoyingly higher pitch...
Gigabyte sounded better by a fair margin. The Powercolor had a weird grinding sound to it that I don't like. The slightly higher pitch on the Gigabyte was still quiet enough that in a case with a glass side panel, it would be much more muted.
Out of the case, I think the PowerColor sound is better even with the faint grinding noise. The Gigabyte has some sort of vibration to it (like industrial fan noise).
Pepsi is taking in that new card smell. Lol
Remember back in the pre-Skylake days when Gigabyte was the only main board partner with triple fan coolers at the same price as the other brands?
Pepperidge farm remembers.
I do, I've also got a Jet Engine cooled GTX680SOC Windforce 5
My Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC disagrees.
Thank you for including vega56 to the charts mate! I have hard times finding some elsewhere
The Gaming OC Windforce 3x is such a good cooler. I have one on a RTX 2070 Super and just put a 5700 XT Gaming OC in a clients build and I cannot believe how quiet they are, how cool they keep the cards and the fact that all the Gaming OC cards come with a backplate for such a low price.
Wooohhh sweet coverage!
Test the ASrock cards now? I like their designs but wonder about their temps.
OMG thank you for this video, i was wondering which one will be good to get the red devil or the gigabyte
I had an idea. If you don't have an updated version, could you make a video on the dos and don'ts of buying used and how to find the right parts?
Thanks for the offer , i was looking for cheap windows.
I already bought 3 oem codes! Thanks for the discount!
you can get them for $2 on ebay... lol
wow !! thanks a lot for the code ! and little discount for my windows 10 pro key !!!!! :)
Can you comment on the dimensions of the Gigabyte RX 5700 XT vs the Gigabyte 2070 Super? Are they identical? I'm looking to build a SFF PC with the Dr. Zaber 2.0 case. The case's GPU compatibility spreadsheet says the 5700 XT will fit, but not the 2070 Super. I just want to double check. Thanks!
MSI should announce a recall of the Evoke card to correct their error with the thermal pads. Else one will assume all their products have been poorly tested and rushed to the market.
even some of their x570 motherboards are bad.. whats going on with MSI??
Welp ever since msi rep down play/talk down on there amd cards, shit been goin down for amd hardware LOL
their gaming X version of the 5700XT is quite good tho. Hardware Unboxed finds it on par with the Nitro+ and on some cases better than it and the Red Devil
@@jeus_saaa thanks for the info Justin. Perfect timing as I was about to order the 'devil'. I'll check out the review.
@@jeus_saaa Hi Justin, I'm not sure I always trust Hardware Unboxed recommendations. I do trust Buildzoid though and he liked the red devil build, so I have ordered this. Thanks for your input.
Short reviews for the win!
hi Greg do u think getting a rx 5700 and oc it or flash the xt variant on it is it worth doing for 50$ saved ?
"Spitting image". JS.
Long hair cat, place is immaculate-imagine living with Science. LOLOL Nice job on keeping the place spotless bro! Must take a f-ton of your time!
I have the 5700xt and it runs games wonderfully, except when it doesnt. I get BSOD all the dang time and every time i turn on my computer i have to jiggle the DP cord on the card because my screen is black.
BSOD is prob goong to be fixed by driver updates but i might need to return my card for the black screens
hey science studio man , do you wanna possibly do a video on trouble shooting game stuttering? i dunno why my full amd setup is stuttering in almost every game.. even at 150 fps.. huge frametime issues . help!
Seems a solid performer.
BUT, Gigabyte has that bloody high whine, i've owned 3 different gigabyte cards and all of them had that same high pitch noise, not good.
Gonna try a different label for my next GPU, maybe a PowerColor red devil or a MSI Gaming X.
Nice review, though it does tear me up as I got a Vega 56 for 250 new a few weeks ago, and there isn't really an upgrade worth it right now..
Mike Wu That’s still the right price to performance. 40% less price but maybe 25-30% less performance? You’re winning. I bought the 5700xt gaming oc from a strix vega 56. Quieter, cooler more powerful etc. But the MONEY. That vega 56 is still good value.
I think $200 - $300 us max for a vega 56/64 is pretty good value .
Do you recommend GIGABYTE GV-R57XTGAMING OC-8GD or SAPPHIRE Nitro + Radeon RX 5700 XT 8G ? the Gigabyte Card is 30£ cheaper
will this card fit in a micro atx case?
U got some good content bro ur funny too lol
would love to get any of those cards though hahaha
How much power do I need to drive a R5 3600 + RX 5700XT?
I was thinking about buying a 620w modular PSU from Seasonic (80+ Bronze)
Should be enough, even with 500w you wouldnt reach the limit.
@@entothees yeah, I'll probably buy that one. I was torn between that one and a Focus GX (650w and 80+ Gold) also from Seasonic, but I think that for 70 bucks the other one is a better deal than the GX for 95 bucks.
Does that model have any lighting option? And, if you know, when Aorus models will come to the market?
Only the Gigabyte logo has RGB.
@@eazen it's enough =D
Should I get the 5700 xt red devil or 5700 xt gigabyte gaming oc there both $420 for me
I got an email from Sapphire. They said all there graphics cards carry a 2 year warranty from date of invoice same with Powercolor. Gigabyte has a 3 year and some of there cards have a 4 year warranty.
Has someone experienced screen tear with 5700 xt when in windows 10 (also when gaming!)? How have you resolved this? I got this problem with a Powercolor reference card. Also I experienced constant crashes, black screens. (I tried to resolve this in numerous ways without a solution. 850W power)
Next I might try and buy this Gigabyte!
Haven't had this issue with any AIB.
@@GregSalazar Yeah, I am sure. I was in disbelief. Had to send it back to Amazon.
I have a longer displayport cable and now I think that might be the problem. Maybe the card is not yet optimized for a longer cable. Yet that might maybe be a little weird..
It's usually a hertz issue with the monitor not liking what it's getting from the cable via the 5700. There were a few good reddit threads about this if it's still an issue for you.
@@merrychristmas3213 Thank you! This will help!
Try enabling "Enhanced Sync" for those apps you're having screen tearing, should solve the issue. And of you have a Freesync monitor, then enable it.

i ordered the OC edition for my build :D hope it all goes well
@Alex Smith yes sirrr honestly i dont give a shit to RTX and all that BS so i just saved $100 and got more performance

@Alex Smith it comes over clocked out of the box and has a higher base and boost clock
what is the difference between Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT GAMING oc 8 gb and the Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT AORUS 8G ?
Thanks for including the sound test. That humming resonance sound from the Gigabyte is pretty annoying in my opinion. Sadly those 5700/5700xt cards do suck a lot of idle power when you use more than one monitor.
yep that humming is strange, i encountered and had some of gigabyte gpus before with that cooler and didnt hear that before this video!
Bruh my case barely fits a Gigabyte GTX 1060 , so the triple fan versions of all of these cards are out of the picture. :(
got any Dual Fan/under 300mm cards you could recommend?
Sapphire pulse 5700?
The Gigabyte 5700 xt gaming oc card is actually 280mm. It may have 3 fans, but the fans are smaller than most dual fan cards.
Hey guys anyone tried to install this GPU on a corsair 220T Case with 120mm H100i pro RGB AIO cooler installed to the front ?
There's barely 28 cm

At some point I'm going to have to get a new graphics card.

is it just me or did Gigabyte just copy-paste the "old" Asus fan design from the 10-series? My GTX 1060 Strix OC looks the same lol. Speaking of Asus, will you benchmark the Asus 2070super? I know 630€ is pretty hefty for a mid range GC (The O-variant even being 699€) but I'm curious to see what Asus came up with in regards to cooling and OC for its price.

I was gonna spend $550 on a rtx 2070 super brand new. But I ended up buying a used reference RX 5700xt for $300. The card runs 70 C under heavy load with 40% fan use and hasn't thermal throttled yet. I'm going to use those $250 that I saved and upgrade my CPU. So far no issues with my 5700 xt. Although I would rather own a triple fan version.
What's their warranty like for the GPU? Any experience?
For Gigabyte it's usually 3-4 years
@@Theboss95781 Noice. That makes it better value than the red devil imo
@@holo6883 yeah not bad but also Gigabyte has some known issues with whining and such. My 2070 from Gigabyte whines a bit but bare able for sure

@Stasss hahahaa
Hey was wondering if a Super 2060 would bottleneck a Ryzen 5 1600 I am planning to Upgrade my CPU and GPU eas wondering which I should do first
The 1600 is more likely to bottleneck first imo although this greatly depends on the game.
@@merrychristmas3213 ok so what do you think? Should I upgrade CPU first then?
@@9rr0r31 That depends on what your current GPU is obviously. If you're currently gpu bottlenecked, then it makes more sense to upgrade your gpu first and let your cpu bottleneck the new gpu then down the road upgrade the cpu. If you're currently cpu bottlenecked, then upgrade the cpu first and upgrade the gpu later. If you're gpu bottlenecked, upgrading the cpu makes little sense to do first imo, even if it means switching where the bottleneck is.
@@merrychristmas3213 right now I have a 1050 2gb I dont think it bottlenecks
I need help. Yesterday a fan blade broke off. The fan still works but there is no fan blade which causes vibration and noise. Is there anyway I can replace the fan?
Get some super glue and just glue it back on.
SkiRiverRun the fans can spin up to 4000 rpm and would make it fall off and the heat would melt the glue
@@Dawsonl377 I've done it before with no ill effects on a gpu fan. And the kind of heat a gpu puts out comes no where close to melting super glue (cyanoacrylate). If it got that hot the plastic fan blades would melt as well.
SkiRiverRun I just don’t know if I’d put super glue on them and I’ve been told it’s not good
@@Dawsonl377 It's already broken and will otherwise need to be replaced what have you got to lose? Just blow all the dirt/dust off, make sure you get it lined up right, and give it a day to dry.
