Great to see many of my distant relations from connemara working hard to try and win a boat race, I have never rowed but if I i was there I would join in the fun with my own boat Bluebird 12th, I would not have to cheat my 1 man boat, it has got speed and a powerful old fighter plane engine
Thank you for posting this! I've built a couple of Currachs and I would like to start a Currach-racing club here in Vancouver Canada. What is the beam and depth of your racing Currachs? I've been building by eye from notes taken from videos such as yours but my boats are not yet as graceful as those seen here.
Hello, sorry for the delay in responding. Our regulations specify a maximum length of 25 feet, a minimum width of 42 inches at the widest point and a minimum draft of 14 inches at the deepest point between seats #1 and #4. I'd love to see pictures of your boats! . Best Wishes.
