"Hands" is a foundly remembered Irish television program that ran from 1977 until the early 80's and showcased some of the country's finest craftsmen and women.
This is a beautiful documentary. Maurice O'Sullivan's "Twenty Years A-Growing" is one of my favourite reads and of course, the voyage by curragh from the Great Blasket to Dunquin as well as fishing expeditions, is prominent in the book. Seeing the construction process and hearing snatches of O'Sullivan's beloved Irish language, made the book come even more alive for me. Greetings from New Zealand.
