I have been wanting to learn piano since I was very little. I was never able to afford a keyboard until about 2 weeks ago when I was helping a friend that has a second hand store and she gave me the deal of a lifetime. A full 88 key keyboard for just $75. Brought it home that same day and looked on UA-cam for a piano teacher and found you ! First off, I have spent a lot of time playing songs I don't really care for or want to learn. Now I understand, in order to play well I have to learn the song. And I have to learn the rhythm as well. So, investing lots of time trying to learn pieces found in piano progression books is frustrating and self-limiting for my practice. You have opened my eyes to what my practice will look like from now on. I love your smile and your exuberance. You are very motivating and easy to watch and learn from. I just bought a yamaha psr e373 yesterday ....and i tried the technic u teach in this video...dont stop believing is basically easy specially the way u teach how to play it ....slowly and simply....damn i cant believe i can play piano for the very 1st time....im already 37y/o...hahaha its never too late to learn musical instruments....thanks alot....u inspired me....more power to channel...pianote☝️🔥🔥🔥
I’m currently listening to videos like this as a mid aged blind guy who’ll never be able to read music to gage whether I should invest in a keyboard and jump in. Without meaning to, you put everything in a easy logical way enabling me to understand the chords and what you were doing. So at 37 I'm getting my first piano this week a 130 Yr old upright as I think playing music will help me a lot with my autism, iv never had a lesson and never played a note and so I'm watching as many of your videos as I can and see how far I get, I find your videos soooo easy to watch thank you soooo much for uploading your videos

This was the best 9:22 I have spent! I have no idea how to play the piano or read music. My mom is the piano player for her small country church, and she is getting very old and will soon not be able to play. I feel as though I will need to step in and play one day for her. Even though it won't sound anything like she played, this gives me hope that I can at least make beautiful sounds on the piano. Thank you so much for making this video! ❤❤

As a guitarist my Left hand (bass hand ) is a hell of a lot more coordinated than my right hand. That’s why I’ve struggled with piano. This video helped tons!!

I indeed thought that this is the way to learn. I followed the Method for a few months and after a year, confronted with the requirements of RCM Prep B and Level 1 exams. I started from the basics again. All I can say is that the boring learning prepares us for real piano playing challenges - not playing “for fun”! Ps. Hand independence, so important in playing more advanced classical music pieces, is not developed by this playing. Singing can cover any piano playing weaknesses.

I'm 46 and have had 14 lessons, at the mo i can do base level improvisation. Its great, it feels like the mystery of piano is starting reveal itself.
