Watch Marin's left hand as compared to the sheet music on the screen. She's showing a whole note in the bass but she's playing a dotted half and a quarter note on beat four. This is very tasteful and I don't think she mentioned it. She's such a good player that she probably does it automatically 😀! Use it. It's a very good idea.
This is great!
Great stuff
@@Septeemberpain 👍.
This happens to me a lot too, I never learned actual music theory and sheet music like reading music, I learned by ear and I improvise so much for over 10 years of playing so I make such beautiful things and when a friend tried writing it down in music sheets he’s like “ dude.. you’d be a classical prodigy if you had written this stuff back in the old days “
@@jersantios 👍!
For some strange reason your tips have catapulted me into a different level of using all that I know in my head to unlocking the keyboard through my fingers. Now I have a reason to learn my inversions, arpeggios and intervals not merely as exercises but musical motifs. Thank God for you young people teaching old dogs like me new and exciting tricks! My sincere thanks for your time and generosity of sharing your knowledge.
I’m glad!! Welcome :)
I couldn't have said it any better. If I can achieve this in the next month I'd be very content indeed.
I’m only halfway through the lesson and I feel as though I’ve learnt more from this than a whole years worth of piano tutorial videos. Thank you!
Great to hear! 😃
Excellent video, thank you. Really useful content. I know keys and chords but I’m never quite sure how to play them to sound more pro. This helps enormously. A lot to practice here - thank you!
I’m glad it helped!
One of the best piano tutorials I have seen. I have been looking for one like this for so long. Thank you for sharing your skills with us!

Great ideas, Marine. And so well presented too - a clear, unfussy style, easy for novices like me to understand. I'm so glad I found your channel.

@@OnlineRockLessons Hello Ms. Rock Lessons. You're playing on the beat too much. You should try some off beat licks. That will really open up your playing.
From Sumatra Island (Indonesia) thanks for sharing.....❤
Woah. Where were you when i started playing. Thisbis the video i’ve been looking for the last 3 years!
Haha!! Well welcome! :)
Thank you so much for sharing part of your soul with us. Clearly you have an inner melody that just pours out of you. The fact that you can communicate it so elegantly proves you are a maestro. Thank you for allowing us to make it part of our music and thus, soul(s).
Wow, thank you!
Thanx Marin (assuming that's your real name), I have just stumbled upon pure gold. I do hand pressing on the keys with my right hand endlessly, I end up getting bored, without any fills and licks, to the point where I was seriuosly contemplating selling my $400.00 yamaha keyboard. But havin stumbled upon this video of yours, my spirit is rejuvenated and our next Thursday devotional worship will be totally different, thanx to you.
All I will do from now on until then is simply to practise all at every opportunity I get. Thanx from Fiji 🇫🇯
Hey! So glad it helping you!
And yes Marine is my real name :)
Thank you so much for your videos and for the free pdf! I am just under a year of self teaching myself playing the piano.
That’s amazing. I’m glad it helps!
Excellent video, I so wish I could play like you.
I started playing piano 10 years ago when I was 60, but I can only play about 5 songs completely.
Everything is so hard for me to learn, I never feel comfortable or relaxed, I seem to be constantly waiting to make a mistake.
You either have it or you don't...I don't....such a shame because I love the piano.
Thanks!
I truly thinks that everyone can learn to play with the right method and some practice!

You demonstrate seemingly uncomplicated and understandable things that we, musicians, periodically hear from others and think in the moment: “damn! That sounds great! But how did he do it?🤔” Thank you that now we can take these chips into our own arsenal! Like and subscribe 👍🫶
You say it all. She made it easy
You delivered VALUABLE techniques and tips on embellishing our solos on practically any instruments we are playing. Thank you!

Hermosos, muy sencillos y en tus manos suenan mágicos.
One of the best video on the topic!!!
Madam you have simplified it so much so that I as an absolute beginner can also play atleast something now in my keyboard😊
Glad it was helpful! 😊
I’m a lowly guitar player, but after a certain point you get more ideas from people playing other instruments, so I’m always looking for horn & piano players on UA-cam. Much of your playing is very guitar friendly. I’m curious if you also play guitar… either way thank you for your service.
I play very little haha but always been a big guitar fan!
I’m watching your older uploads, I particularly love your jazzy blues version of seven nation army. You have a great sense of rhythm & beautiful taste in phrasing. Thanks again
Great video, Marine !!! Thanks a lot !!! ♥️

Of course!
I just started playing piano. I’ve played guitar for 60 years and wanted to add to my music pleasure. I see many of your concepts using guitar. I’m wide open to learning the inside of piano secrets. I know theory so learning piano is fairly easy for me.
I love ideas: 7, 8, 9 and 10. I've learned some of the others already.
So interesting as an early piano learner, to hear the pop songs, such as Lady Gaga’s Million Reasons, in these chord progressions. I love this instrument and love watching these amazing musicians share their talents with us. We live in an amazing era of knowledge sharing. ❤❤ thank you!
Thanks. This is I’m looking for. Thank you so much
Hi Marine What is the difference between a Fill and a Lick ? Are these Fills and Licks used for accompanying a singer or can they be applied to SOLO piano ? Can you show how these Fills and Licks be applied to actual piano playing. Thanks for the wonderful tutorial.
Thank you!
The was I see it, licks are pre determined phrases you can transpose. And fills are more concepts you can apply to chords. But for some people they are the same depends how you wanna see it!
You can used all that for any context! Piano solo or piano accompaniment. :)
I saw many 'tutorials' that teach you how to play 'like a pro', but they are all the same, selling you plain bs, but these tips are pure gold! xoxo
I’m glad it’s helpful! :)
Thing is, people don't wanna share for free, what they've paid for.
Ideas 5 and 10 are beautiful ❤️

Thank you so much.
From Haïti.
Amazing, in fact. Thank you
Glad you liked it! ☺️
Very nice Marine. For your Idea #2, here's a modification. To get that David Foster sound, use the sus2 on the right hand without resolving to the the third (Play C, D, G). Play the third with the left hand (single E by itself). Do that with the whole progression and tell me it doesn't sound like some of Foster's slower tunes 😀. Thanks for the great video!!
Grt lesson offered up here ! Like her own Gabon drills
Thanks a lot. Though I knew almost all you have shown, didn't know how and where to apply. This video helped me to sort it out. Once again thanks

My pleasure! Thank you so much for your support 🙏
Thank you techar god bless you
Sooo YEAHHHHH, Thank you ☺.
You're welcome!!
In the last idea, it seems like a Gsus4 rather than a straight G? Which carries some tension, and you then release by resolving an arpegiated tonal C and Csus2. Nice!
Thank you so much.❤
Fantastic tips that you make look so easy! I can't wait to practice all of them to improve my playing.
Yes!! I’m glad :)
