Your passion for music is contagious, and keeps me coming back for more. I love learning these amazing concepts, and still amazed at how simple it can be yet still takes much practice to get down. Thank you for being such a joyful and wonderfully clear teacher! I must also say you are as easy on the eyes as you are on the ears. ;)
Self-taught player here since 16, now 49. Thank you for naming these techniques I have been using so far without knowing they had actually a name or purpose. I just do them whenever I feel the song needs them or I just get bored of the same basic chord
You are an incredibly amazing teacher. I've been a metal guitar player for decades and know quite a bit of theory and just recently got a keyboard. Getting the mechanics down on a piano vs. a guitar is quite different but your lessons make it so accessible. I've watched a few of your videos now and will continue to as they are so motivating. Thank you! 🤘
Your stepping-stone approach, from simple notes and ending with inversions and improvisations, offers it in bite-sized chunks. Starting on the four chords today, I will attempt to master your 13-minute lesson in the next two weeks. Thanks to your endearing style and infectious enthusiasm, I will brave the next two weeks of rigorous practice to get anywhere near that.
Love the patient and interesting way you break this all down Lisa. So helpful for us lesser piano playing mortals. You are a fantastic teacher and your enthusiasm really comes through every time. Bravo! 😁
This is absolutely the number one progressive video EVER made for beginner players. I am quite serious. WOW!!!!. The choice of soundtrack was excellent. You must create more of these exact vids
Oh my goodness, thank you thank you thank you. I played piano as a little girl, but could never progress in reading sheet music ( now understanding because of dyslexia). However i continued playing guitar and enjoyed it so much. Many years passed, studies, marriage, children.... And came across your videos. I realized playing piano is still a big dream of mine. My husband baught a piano for me about a month ago, and I can't thank you enough. I can play songs because of your videos such as this one, and enjoy myself!!! I am not experiening the frustration without progress like I used to as a child. For some reason I can follow chords more easily and have a sharp ear.. I am sure if I had these as a child I would never have given up. So again, thank you for teaching in such a fun playful way. I find myself watching my next lesson at work already and praying I will have time to practiser the songs when I get home. XxX
Just came across this video and have been following along (with lots of replays) for the last hour or so. I'm loving it. It's a beautiful song and thank you Lisa for teaching it so beautifully too. I love your enthusiasm and your posture! I've followed previous Pianote videos before and always found them very useful and enjoyable. Thank you!
I decided to take a break from the piano but I find myself going back to watching other people play instruments bass, guitar, violin… I also keep thinking about notes on paper. But I enjoy watching and listening to you play the most 🥰
I would like to thank your team for effectively eliminating the shadows caused by lighting in your notes. It has significantly improved the visibility of your fingering and made it much more enjoyable to observe.
I'm 57 years old and I only recently decided to start learning piano. This was the first song I learned but I learned it from a different UA-cam channel in a different key. Either way, it's a great song and I definitely think it's a great first song to learn because it makes you sound like you can play the piano even as a complete beginner. Thanks for the tips about rolling the notes and adding that second note. That will come in handy as I continue to progress.
I learn something new everytime i watch, im a visual learner. I like that you take your time showing hiw you did that!!! The other videos go so fast i have to stop & rewind over & over again---so frustrating!!!!!!😮
that was the best fun I have EVER had playing the piano! I am going to start my kids on it too! Thank you so much. I think I have just found the perfect person who has touched my soul and made it sing. thank you
Thank you Lisa for an excellent lesson! The pacing, the explanations and the visuals helped me to fully grasp all the content. So often I get lost in instructional videos - but not this one! How encouraged I feel that I can actually learn some chording! Of course I need lots of practice to become fluent with this. I will watch this excellent video over and over! Bravo Lisa!
I’ve just got a midi keyboard for my DAW and am trying to learn to play some nice piano chord sequences to build an instrumental on. Great lessons from a cute cheerful chic. ❤️
This video has really given me hopes of playing keyboard 👍👍,I was almost giving up but upon watching this it's like a heavenly sent thing,av now gathered a lot hopes to keep pushing me forward to practice more ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Lisa! This is brilliant and so helpful, The sus rols and alternating left hand octaves and fifths, and inversions is so insightful for me as a beginner but having messed around on piano for years (As a Guitarist!)
Great tips for me to play pop songs much more interesting and sound better! You make it more fun to do it as well Lisa! Thank you very much for sharing. Can't wait to try out all the different techniques.
I loved this. I can read music with little trouble for the piano but I really want to learn fakebook and this was the best introduction to it that I have seen for those who know music a bit.
I love your tutorials. You're a great teacher. And thanks also for showing notations while playing the keys, this is the way how I learn playing the piano easily, by reading notes while seeing how the keys are played and while listening how it sounds. Thanks for these tutorials, it's so helpful. And thanks for applying the lessons in playing real pop song, in this video "Someone You Love" by Lewis Capaldi, lol I'm able to play it by the end of this video. Thanks! 😂😂
It’s really starting to click for me now and I feel like I’m finally leaping forward. All the other videos you made have led me to here and a much better understanding of chords and progressions and inversions. I’m so excited to keep progressing ! Thank you!
What a awesome voice. You mentioned the artist's first name, but not his last, nor the name of the song. I found both by Shazaming. Have to admit I have never heard this song, nor the artist before. But he is obviously well-know in the music world. Lisa, you picked a great song for your Pop 101 video. Headed over to the member"s area now.
I am surprised that a professional would leave out this information. But you are too! It makes me think that this is being done just to generate comments- which I am obviously doing. So what is his name and the name of the song?
Great video! I wish I would have watch this years ago. I needed help on “fills”. I got stuck in repetition too much, but this video really helps with that. Thank you so much Lisa❤ You’re amazing😊
Thank you so much Lisa! You are a brilliant piano teacher. So patient, detailed and easy for beginners to understand. I always enjoy watching your videos!
Love your enthusiasm, I have always wanted to play piano, you make it look so amazing. If you could only do the super Mario theme tune, I could teach my son - he is desperate to play it
Honestly, this is probably the only video you need for the first 6 months of playing pop piano.❤
I have completed the tutiorial after practicing for the past few months, any recommendations on what to study next.
Hmm, this shouldn't take anywhere near 6 months to learn, outside of maybe the octaves which are kinda tricky.

learning piano with current songs, whether known or unknown, really helps... it removes the theory part of it... kudos. thanks
Thank you so much

Every guitar player should learn basic piano as it helps to make sense of it all, sus chords, 7th chords, Inversions etc.
@@Pulse2AM 100% agree with this.
@@mrmcclory1964 Yep, similar case for me. :)
You're the best piano teacher I've ever seen. The clarity, your kindness, ... thank you so much

I always love the way you excited when you hit some chords or notes, "wow sounds good". 😅 like it's the very reason why I play keyboard

I usually get bored of most piano tutorials, but I can say for sure that Pianote ones are the best for me. And this one is pure gold.

Impressive. Lowering the original song half step down, from C# to C makes the song much more easier to play.
What a great voice Lewis has. You would sound great harmonising with this.
I like your simplified way of instruction.
This was so easily explained and perfectly done. Thank you so much 😊
❤ sometime unfussy thing can touch our heart easily.
