12 minutes of logical instruction without any unnecessary tangents makes it easier to follow. Love it. Also appreciate, as a newbie, the info on using the sustain pedal and not assuming we all know how to use it properly. Thank you!
I can't afford piano lessons so I am one of theose persons who rely on UA-cam to learn, so thankfully there are people like you who are out there gracing people like me. While I am at it, I would also like to say that I have picked up some great lessons from many other teachers on UA-cam but every now and then someome comes along and take me over that next important hump and your lesson on chord inversions just did that for me with extras. These extras are what I was missing for a long time which other teachers either refused, didn't know how to or just didn't care to due to a non paid subscription or lessons and I do understand that. Everyone has to make a living some how. So thanks again for your grace have a blessed weekend
I am an intermediate self taught keyboard player with Yamaha PSR SX900 .Today I found this absolutely brilliant video from Ted .I can play any chord and was looking out for a video for hand coordination and arpeggios when I found your channel.Your video is very clear and you explain really well and demonstrate how to play.I will definitely follow all your videos and thank you so much. Please keep giving us more such videos

Ted, I'm a guitarist who wants to learn how to play piano. Sub divisions explained like this has helped me enormously. Most piano teachers on youtube don't get this. They note spell a chord which is important... but more important is the " how " to make it sound like music. You're onto something. How to make chord progressions musical by rhythmically breaking up chords and arpeggios... now your talking. Please expand on this. It is the key to making chords become music... to become a song. Well done mate. Hope you become a big hit on youtube. I've been waiting for years for a teacher such as yourself!
LOL, I'm also a guitarist who wants to learn piano. I don't know why I always thought it would be too hard, but a few weeks ago I suddenly realized I could probably do it. Started considering it more seriously today. I really liked how he compared things to the guitar. That was helpful. Blessings to you on your piano journey!
Great vid. Like a lot of piano players I get stuck on certain rhythms and play them endlessly, which gets repetitive. By showing us the tools you're enabling us to bring variety to our playing. Thanks!
Omg thank you so so so much ! My teacher asks me to work on my chord and then show rythmic versions to me and I’m like « oh wow how can I do that » and he’s like « don’t worry about it for the moment » but I mean … And the joy to watch a video with very detail explanations and time to actually see what’s happening and ending the video understanding everything is just amazing !

I am trying to self-learn ahead of my 8-year old daughter. This video has helped me soo much to slow down, break it into manageable pieces and avoid taking leaps too fast for my daughter's pace! Looking forward to discovering more of your great content once I'm past the base pick up part 😁

I am very happy that I discover this video today. This helps me a lot. You explained well and easy to understand. You have a talent of teaching! Thank you!
I have been searching for this type of information for years ever since I started classical piano lessons as a kid, dropped it in college only to pick up guitar which sent me back to trying chord pattern playing on the piano which allowed me to eventually play for church and most recently improved with the ourworshipsound tutorials. Wow this popped up on my feed presumably based on YT’s algorithm, so glad it did as this video is very useful to me, I haven’t seen any other clip explain strumming a piano so well, keep them coming.
This is the first video of yours I’m seeing and you have already helped me so much by breaking things down this way!! Definitely checking out your other videos and subscribing ❤
I wish you could understand how much I appreciate this video. This topic is so specific, I didn’t know how to word it in a Google search. Thanks for making this concept easy to understand.
I always want to learn 16 beat to make more dynamics. I always play so regular beat especially the left hand. So, your teaching is very useful. I am from Hong Kong, and your teaching helps me learn more to play western songs, 'cos always involve the 16 note subdivision. 😃 I feel my playing is often too thin I'll say, maybe my fingers not long and hands not big enough. I often play a triad only on the right hand, that's why the sound will be not rich enough. If I play an octave, the note in between will be a bit hard to play it firm, left hand is better
Hi Buddy..... thanks a lot 🎉.... I'm improving myself.... after seeing your channel....I was a computer science teacher for many years and just a simple violin 🎻 player .... God bless you abundantly... I play the pipe organs now....

these comments make me very happy. always keep an adventurous and creative spirit
Underrated af
The chord’s progression he uses is from Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ for those who’re wondering. The original goes G, B, C, Cm.
The original is the Hollies "Air That I Breathe"
I don’t think it’s fair to say its from “Creep” because its a pretty common chord progression
You don't have the right to say it's underrated
It’s just a minor plagal cadence man 😂

Excellent teaching on new tools to help your sound on the keys sound more pleasing .. Lee
I feel my playing is often too thin I'll say, maybe my fingers not long and hands not big enough. I often play a triad only on the right hand, that's why the sound will be not rich enough. If I play an octave, the note in between will be a bit hard to play it firm, left hand is better
Thank you!!! Youre a gift from heaven for this❤❤❤
You Are Very In Teaching & It Makes It Easy To Understand Quickly. Thank You So Much.
