The French haven't experienced this level of American badassery since June '44
Its kinda funny when you learn that Le Mans is in Normandy, & there is a KFC inside Mulsanne's first kink😂😂
Le mans is not in Normandy it's in La Loire but yeah close😊 (im from Normandy and often go to the 24 h du Mans)
Nah 1966 when the gt40 destroyed the game
You forgot the 66 le Mans with the GT40, that car was a beast
🤣🤣😭 that gave me a good laugh!
When was the last time a NASCAR car passed an Aston Martin and got passed by a Peugeot? I'm happy I got to see this race.
Le Mans is the best. No other race compares.
In Forza.😂
Got passed by the Ferrari factory big boy three times…🤣 and Ferrari won La mans 🏆.. to be honest I have a Lotta Respect for Chevy a Lotta respect…🇺🇸
Only in o̶h̶i̶o̶ le mans.
“NASCAR fast car this is not a jaguar”-DB Boutabag: Bag talk
270 kph. On 4th gear. Holy fuck, this big boi is F A S T
Given the right conditions, it tops out at much faster
Wtf is a kilometer🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
They have 5 gears in the next gen.
Pretty sure it's 5th now.
Bill elliot at talladega 1987 clocked 212.803 mph (342 kph) with 4 speed gen 3 ford thunderbird. I assume if there are no restrictions with this car , it prolly can even go faster (i think i saw someone said it in internet , it can go to 232 mph (370 kph)). And yeah nascar next gen cars are using 5 speed sequential transmission right now
Le mans imo never disappoints. The grid is impressive as always but this Camaro is the best entry this year. Its the dogs bollocks. Sounds absolutely and I wish I was piloting it. Wow 🤘
It would be nice if we got to see it more than once. They hyped this up in America, got people interested, then don’t show the car. If the goal was, how to we get Americans to lose interest, mission accomplished.
It’s the dogs bollocks , nice
@@LilSebastian_ They showed it plenty. It wasn’t racing anyone… what were they supposed to show?
@@tbz1551 "Showed it plenty' Yeah... all 6 mins of total time out of 24 hours. It was racing the other cars in GTE regardless of being in the class. They spent months hyping this only for 6 mins of total time out of 24 hours? 0.04% of the total race the car was shown on the track. You're a moron deluxe....
I hope that next year a Mustang will also join this category of Garage 56
Letting freedom ring for 24 hours in its purest form of American motor racing, what a sound!
Props to Cadillac Racing for bringing their V8 as well.
The sound they make when they fly by, absolutely mental. Everybody have a trin on their face each time Camaro passes
Bring it home 💪
And corvette racing for brining it home in first place! 🇺🇸
And a 3rd and 4th place finish behind ferrari and Toyota. Overall the American companies showed amazing performance
capitalism and freedom are different things.
What a way to showcase this car to the world and show everybody that we are not just a bunch of rednecks driving around in circles. But we still wanted to bring that V8 soundtrack and we definitely succeeded with that.
The V8 soundtrack never gets old. An all time classic
Also, I have to hold my hand up as one of those people who slagged off NASCAR from afar.
You don’t get the respect you deserve.
Raise hell, praise Dale brother
Goodness those downshifts are like a bark from a hellhound. Brilliant!
Sick analogy
Go Jimmy, drive your own race. Please just be there tomorrow. It is testament to American hot rod know how to get a car of this size and mass to survive. Kudos to the drivers to know the limits of their car.
Americans guffing in their pants over this non story from another boring, made up, American sport
He's never gonna see this comment bro
@@thididididi thank you inspector gadget. Now we can all rest.
Keep the faith, he may have sucked in Indy but he's a god in a stock car
I do believe with this American V8 which is engineered to go 110% during an entire race that it is more capable than any of the other entries. Reminds me of the Fords they put into the GT40. Granted I'm more of a Porsche guy.
Never liked NASCAR, but I can just imagine being Jimmy, haven driven stock cars for most of his career in the US, and then getting this opportunity to represent something he has always driven and loved in one of the most iconic races in the world, on it's Centenary!? Wow
It’s 75 for NASCAR
Best sounding engine in the whole 2023 field, hands down! 😍
Hey man, Cadillac's V8 is pretty mighty sounding as well.
Excited to see more American manufacturers enter WEC
@@DSHPerotecH I absolutely agree, Sir.
Cadillac's V8 is a marvellous sounding engine, but this one is a step ahead.
And yes, this year WEC is waaay better than F1, in terms of pure racing.
@@Il_Dutur F1 is great because it's the peak of automotive speed and engineering.
WEC is more enjoyable, because the cars are fast and tough, and a lot closer to road going cars.
Le Mans has always been my halo race, the one I have to see in person one day, so much history and prestige.
Those downshifts sound so good!
I grew up watching NASCAR, and my parents were huge Jimmie Johnson fans. Even as I drifted away from stock car racing and more into sportscar racing, I always had a soft spot for the seven-time champion. It's so awesome to see him racing for Hendrick Motorsport again; much less at one of my favorite events of the year and in arguably the coolest looking and sounding cars on the grid! I know they said it was a one-time entry, but I wouldn't mind seeing this compete again next year as well!
Oh the fans will demand an entry next year fo sho
This is awesome. You can just hear the difference in rpms between this and the old c5/6/7rs, those typically topped out around 6500, this is running up to 8k and that's lower than the 9k they typically run at home on the big oval tracks. Nothing like a small block, push rod cup engine screaming at 8k down the mulsanne!
Probably running almost 10,000 RPMs.
@@ethanweeter2732 sounds like 8000
@@ethanweeter2732 saw an clip rpms, they're maxing at 8 and chief engineer said they lowered rpm a bit for reliability.
@@ethanweeter2732 more like 9999.
Hell to the yeah.. says a lot for 70 year old basic pushrod design, minus the gear drive cam, dry sump etc. Still amazing in my book.
A fan favorite especially their pit stall was at the end of the pits ,the crowd cheered at every pit stop WITH A HAND JACK
Had to stop and think why the crowd would be cheering haha. As a American, we see those pit stops weekly. Hope to see more endeavors like this.
Have a permanent "stock car" class in IMSA and WEC
would be awesome!
They've been there & done that: *The 90s GTO & GTU, & 00s Grand AM GT cars were tube frame chassis like stock cars but they have a modified road car engine from their respective manufacturers*
Sidenote: Scca Trans Am still runs tube frame cars in their TA1 division
Jimmie Johnson might be the most humble racing great of all time. A class act all the way. I’m happy for him being able to race at the timeless LeMans Circuit. Awesome
He's an absolute delight in person as well. Such a great guy.
That is as American as it gets, that's our 7 time champion driving the car from the team he won them all with, go Jimmie!!!!!!! Boogity boogity boogity
Love the sound of that V8.
These three drivers are paving the way for nascar to compete in Le Mans
I hope these guys make it to the finish line, it is really what the original spirit of The 24 Hours of Le Mans was about
, nothing beats the sound of an American V8 on full tilt.
Also, their pit crew was 5th in pit crew challenge. I’m not a NASCAR fan, but this was phenomenal. I think this is gonna inspire NASCAR…
At the very least, now nobody can say these guys can't drive as good and that's why they're in Nascar. Braking deep in the turns and coming out great. Driving one of these beasts to the finish at lemans is a testament to american racing in its own right
And now we can say for the record. Nascar's can also turn right pretty well. 😂
@@sanfayyaad Riverside International, Watkins Glen, Sears Point, Road America, Mid-Ohio,
The Nascar sounds better than the GTE cars
I love the V8 but the flat 6 in the RSR is just as good
We call it a stock car…but okay
For all our European friends NASCAR was basically started by bootleg whiskey runners during alcohol probation. When guys weren't running liquor to the cities from the rural areas they would get together and race and out of that was born American racing. Most racers in NASCAR even into the 1970 &80s had direct ties to bootlegging in there families. Junior Johnson was the most famous he discovered that duct taping around the headlights of his car could gain him 10 miles per hour in speed which sums up southern American nascar engineering. I'm not a huge racing fan but the story of how NASCAR racing actually started is very American. So its nice to see how far those same ideas have come. I never thought I would see a NASCAR at Le Mans, but its very cool!!!
You missed a few chapters: *You forgot to mention the 1900s AAA championship horsetracks, the construction of Indy Motor Speedway, wooden board tracks* and then start with the bootleggers..
MORE NASCAR FOOTAGE PLS FIA/WEC
No supercharger, no turbo’s, just screaming V8 power. Got to love it
The commentator begging the cameraman by name to stay on this onboard is hysterical 🤣🤣🤣
Also love the commentator begging to stay with this onboard and just being quiet to listen (like the rest of us lol)
Oh man... Nascar G56 is a sleeper. Was very impressed when in tow of an LMP2 it was able to keep up.
Hard to believe that this car doing faster laps than GTE's. And what a great sounding V8, really miss hearing the Chevy blocks.
There's juat something special about the sound of an american stock car muscling its way down a track.
What a majestic sound 😍 (as a Ferrari fan)
More please!
The FUCKING NOISE on those downshifts. Glorious.
Hope their race goes smoothly and they finish with some good data!
You could pick out this car's sound, even from the campsite 20 km away. Awesome
How was the reaction to it by the crowd?
@@meintingles4396 Lots of smirks and smiles when it came by. Also a loud applause on the cooldown lap, it was definitely a fan favourite.
Great coverage on the NASCAR! Thank you
Valvetrain going, "are we supposed to be revving this high?" Exhaust going ""MOAR, MOAR, MOAR POWER!"
Tha FAQ - cutting away just as we get to the curves, which would have been the best part of the lap to show!
Highlights peices from WEC are great vision, but no detail, why not just play the whole hours highlight reel from the official coverage??
they do the same thing with commercial, it just cuts off mid sentence and goes to commercial, no fade out nothing. someone in the tv direction area needs to get it together and put some effort into the broadcast
God ever since I was a kid I was in love with this sound as i watched nascar. To see my favorite driver of all time take the same type of car he used to race on the grand stage of motorsport like this gives me absolute chills man.
This night running is something else!! I keep watching them to predict where the braking points are: I know it’s clearer in real life but seems awfully hard from these views! And that GTE’s flashing red light was annoying as hell, it must be brutal for another GTE in close battle behind it, lol! G56 blew by him like it was an LMP2 tho, just amazing.
if they finish that would be very impressive, they have been running clean and strong. Hope to see the lads back next year and take some more cars with you!
Absolutely bloody BRILLIANT!!!
NASCAR @ Le Mans, what a sound!
LORD KNOWS I CAN'T CHANGE
MORE! MORE! MORE! PLEASE!
Straight cut gears are the best part of this sound mmmmm
A high revving flat plane wins the race, but a howling crossplane is what leaves everyone with a smile on their faces. So proud of these boys for showing up and giving the Europeans a proper race. The corvette c8 had an excellent showing in its own right.
BUMBOOOCLODDDDD JIMMY LFG THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL
Love the sound, the loose rear and the occasional wheelspin.
She ain’t slow!
Music to my ears ❤
That was such a smooth pass, nice job Jimmie, and for finishing the race
BEST in SHOW!!! Sounds Amazing yea yaya ;D
Give it some damn coverage next year!! This thing is awesome!!
Man, Caddy needs to be a manufacturer in Cup!
Jimmie has always been my favorite driver since his first Daytona race when he won the pole as a rookie so this is exciting
I've never been into Nascar but this camaro was a beauty to see and hear
Sick Camaro and fantastic driving!
lets have stock/muscle cars competing in le mans in the future 🔥
AGREED MORE OF THIS CAR!
HOW FKN AWESOME IS THAT SOUND!!!!😁👍🤘🎸🤯🥰🤩🥳... JUST FKN BEAUTIFUL!!!
So cool! Those downshifts! 🤤
This car added something extra to the race. Would be great to see it again in 2024
Seems like FIAWEC never disappoints with these banger onboards.
Great work Hendrick team! You finish the race!
When he lets off to downshift that noise is just lovely. Hahahahaha you like that?! 😂
The headlights work better when they're not stickers!
This car is mad! Hopefully they see it to the end.
Great stuff. Need more Nascar in Le Mans next eyar yeehaa
This is so sick
What amazing adrenaline 😮😮❤❤
Todos amamos a éste auto. Una lástima que no volverá a competir
THAT SOUND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
That beautiful noise ...
Love itttt
I just love how raucous this thing sounds compared to everything else there. You don’t even hear the other cars when it’s passing or being passed
Wow Night Onboard Display of NASCAR G56 with Jimmie Johnson Circuit Le Mans.
They've shown about 20 seconds of footage so far of the car. Hypercar 24 hr
American team with american sound and power, amazing.
BOOM CONFETTI 🎉🎉🎉🎉
THAT’S MY 🐐 RIGHT THERE!
It's literally cars 2. Haha i fuckn love it
The perfect amount of commentary.
Pleaseeee do it again in 2024 !!!
Nooooicee
Yes let’s have mor amurica 💪🏾
Best ASMR video ever
Lafayette, we are here!
Just overjoyed to see a unrestricted NASCAR spreading it's wings!!!
You know the worrying part? If the Camero was actually shaped like the GT cars and not a Nascar, it might have been much more formidable given that it was already a great performer to begin with.
That soundtrack
I was there Hendricks NASCAR best sounding car there
This feels vaguely similar to an Aussie touring car.
Because its a tube frame sihlouette car with a loud V8 & a sequential gearbox
Ughhhh 4th Gear was screaming COME HERE 😈😈
See Europeans, we can turn right!
Dude, the top 3 divisions of Nascar have had their highest number of road courses to date.. that stereotype is way too old..
YEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWW
The greatest driver in any motor sport. I’m talking about the goat of goats or the greatest of all time Jimmy Johnson at Le Mans what more can you ask for
They don't understand Jimmie isn't there to have fun Jimmie is out for blood 😂😂😂😂 Jimmie don't play in race cars
What's impressive is that it was 2 seconds a lap faster than the GTE AM Cars. They really went all out for the lap time. They finished 39th overall which goes to show how inefficient the car is for endurance racing but still admirable. I also love that during this clip it overtook an Aston Martin and then got blitzed by the Peugeot.
tbf the 39th place happened because it got Le Man'd at the end
