@@woffelledThey sound similar but the straight cut gear sound gets louder with speed while this one is loudest on hard accelerations (when the ERS deployment is highest)
Still, it's the transmission noise. There's no electric motor noise at all (that can be heard without being close to it)

@@iMorands Yeh, that was crazy. I did some endurance racing, but never in such conditions. I have talked to some of the "old guard" who raced at Le Mans, and they all told me that they basically saw nothing during night back in the day, especially with fog or rain. One of those drivers told me he was counting loud so he knew when to brake.

Always loved the Le Mans 24, best motor race in the world. The commentary by either these guys on the WEC Channel or Radio Le Mans is to me a special part of it, but this has always been the bit that really gets me. That part in the middle of the night when the commentators stick you in the passenger seat, it all goes quiet except for the sounds of the engine and brakes and there is just this sort of inner peace. I can watch from in-car nowadays all the way through if I choose, but I don't, that would somehow spoil the magic. Thanks to all at FIA WEC and RLM for bringing me a couple of days of pure happiness very year.

Do the driver's have a special tint in their helmets for the flashing red lights? Probably not a problem when you're overtaking a car in a slower class but if you were racing for position and chasing another car, can imagine that flashing light might get a bit jarring on the drivers.

Something I noticed is that when he shifts up to 5-7th gears, the hybrid whines a bit.
Likely allowing for a more reliable transmission if the shifts don't have to be as fast as possible with hybrid helping out

Wow those flashing red lights are super annoying/distracting. Modern LEDs are really bright and IMO that’s less safe.

Total power the cars have left, either fuel tank, or battery for the hybrid system, combined.
Because its hybrid, it's not fuel only, but the battert for the electric motor also, so FIA just called them energy (NRG)

Idk, but you won’t see me breaking late or going rough into corners at night lol 😂 not even on ACC or GT7.
It rained quite heavily before that into the night, especially on those long straights, the track was still wet at that point. You can also see how he struggles to put power down on corner exit when accelerating, also a sign that the track was damp. You can imagine that the track doesn't dry very quickly without the sun. Just around half an hour before they still had windscreen wipers on.

they were the second car most affected by BOP, and every single manufacturer had the chance to lead the race at one point during the 24H ; Toyota was right there till the end, and lost the chance to catch the ferrari 51 because of a pilot error, Bop might have levelled the playing field, but in no way was the deciding factor in Ferrari's victory here.
No, it's not quite like that. Ferrari got the advantage by returning the warmers at LeMans, which is already a violation of the regulations from the organizers. Secondly, the organizers said that the BOP will not change in the first four races, and if there will be changes, they will be only between LMDH and LMH and absolutely for everyone, which did not happen. As for supposedly equal chances for everyone it is also false, the fact that in the race the leaders were changing is only a weather factor, and without the changeable weather the Ferrari would have moved away from everyone immediately, because if judged by Toyota, after the BOP in LeMans they were losing 4-5 tenths of a second from a lap to the Ferrari and in total lost 1.2 seconds due to BOP, so Hirakawa error has not affected anything except the difference in gap to the Ferrari. Also, this Hirakawa error was a direct consequence of the balance that made Toyota have to risk to compete with Ferrari on pure pace with their BOP. So it's clearly not "equal" BOP as you think. In addition, judging by the average pace of the crews for the entire race, Toyota was slower than Porsche, which is completely absurd after the first three races of the season, so do not tell us about the "equality" balance for all. Ferrari were at a different level of speed from everyone else in LeMans, and that is a consequence of the BOP and only that, and I'm really waiting for Ferrari to wait for the balance that Toyota got so that they get ahead of Porsche and Peugeot, then we'll talk about a fair BOP.

The FIA/ACO full statement reads: “The first few races of the 2023 FIA WEC season have shown differences between different LMH-spec cars competing in the Hypercar class to be greater than initially anticipated,”
“Considering these factors, and following an in-depth analysis of available data, the WEC Committee has decided that the goal of ensuring a level playing field within the Hypercar class will be best achieved by implementing correction between, but also within, the LMH and the LMDh platforms.”
---- Third : "The leader changes just because weather factor", only once that happened , when Peugeot gained the lead, you seem to forget that the BOP didn't involve only ballast weight but also a correction to the Max Power and Max Energy allowed per stint lookie here BOP for the all the cars was as follows: - 24kg to the Ferrari( Max power 509 kW (692 Cv), Max energy x stint 901 MJ) - 37Kg to Totyota (Max power 512 kW (696 Cv),Max energy x stint 908 MJ) - 11kg to Cadillac (Max power 513 kW (697 Cv), Max energy x stint 905 MJ) - 3kg to Porsche (Max power 516 kW (702 Cv), Max energy x stint 910 MJ) - No added weight for the Glickenhaus( Max power 520 kW (707 Cv), Max energy x stint 913 MJ) ,Vanwall(Max power 512 kW (696 Cv), Max energy x stint901 MJ) & Peugeot (Max Power 516 kW (702 Cv), Max energy x stint 908 MJ) more weigth to the Toyota but also more power and energy; you seem to have nothing to say about the cars that didn't receive any bop correction huh, since they didn't win who cares .. right??It seems that Bop was only done to affect Toyota right ?? poor Toyota as soon as it gets some competition it loses.
Regarding the error , is due to Toyota stubbornly wanting a japanese driver( although an inesperienced one) to bring it home in the last leg of the race, a friendly reminder , a 24h endurance race it's never finished until the checkered flag (see Ferrari's last pit stop, car not restarting and all), maybe the "squirrell" that caused problems to the Toyota was also paid by the nefarious,vile, evil ,villainous Ferrari??Just say as it is, plain and simple, you hate Ferrari and couldn't bare to see them win such a renowned edition of Le Mans. Now it's your turn to read a freaking wall of words.Peace ☮
