I think a video on surgical mistakes, etc, would be interesting. It seems to be a topic which isn’t talked about as much as it should be, and I’m sure you have some stories to tell. Cheers!
I’m here because I just witnessed a man get stabbed in the chest tonight.
I gave a full police statement and hope he survived. 😞
Love these kind of videos, could literally watch them all day. Really interesting and informative, plus gives a good rundown of the procedure to keep in mind. Make more!!!!
Youre The First Doctor I’ve Seen That Keeps His Desk Neat 😭 Lol
Always informative colored with your personal commentary. Great job!
Yaaay! This was really great . Pls do more of these sort of videos. It was very informative.
Great case! Thanks for sharing. Talking through your thought process is really helpful for trainees
I am in my surgery rotation and this was a good review of what we talked about in lecture!

The guy recovered from the surgery but had a massive heart attack when he saw the medical bills. 😂
This was super interesting!
Good on you mate, very interesting 🙂
You are a hero!😊😊👍👍💟
Glad he survived. Hope he stays in more safe situations.
probably won't
Buck Parker, M.D. might be a repeat customer then...
@@drbuckparker I wish I could study under you. I have the same sense of humor 🤣
Which part of body you get stabbed you have higher chance of being dead?
In my 4th period listening to this
Fascinating!
YEEEEEES I LOVE THESE
Definitely do more of these...it's hot!!
I got stabbed 19 times. One of those injuries was to the same left side but through the ribs, chest drain. My life is a living hell in pain. Thank you for this channel.
19 times? Horse caca.
I was angrily typing..." Why didn't u let him stay" before I reached the end of the video....haha. good for you!
Great!
That is complicated
Any advice on academic vs community surgery? What do you do if you're applying for residency programs, you want an academic career, but you're not competitive enough for top academic programs?
*novel protagonist sweats nervously*
Wanted to know about stab injury on rt upper chest area
May I ask which watch r u wearing? It’s rly nice
Damn...i am so proud of my self...i know most of this sh*t😂😂
101 likes and 0 dislikes NICE JOB!!!
Phillip C And then along came a peon!
When would you use a mesh to repair the diaphragm? Was rotating in surgery and had patient who had similar stab wound 20 years ago (although not sure how big) and it gradually developed into diaphragmatic hernia. He presented with DOB SOB, CXR showed bowel loops in chest cavity and atelectasis. Hernia was about 10cm diameter and was repaired by mesh.
The really old ones with retracted muscle that cannot be closed because too much tension on the repair require mesh.
Hi son get stabbe in his heart an an now the doctor is saying him is swollen can you explain how that happened to him an his heart had stop beating an now it beating back
Apply pressure.. until you can get them into surgery... was my guess.
Use Diagrams Dr. Parker
just did one today w whiteboard!
How do you edit your video so that it zooms in and out like that? And is the goal of editing it this way to make it seem more interesting? If so, I sorta think it works!
haha. i have editors. yes it's supposed to be more engaging??!!
hi
What is the priority when a patient was stab in hearth before the patient is transferred to operation room
Hey Dr. Buck, do you guys still use DPL in abdominal assessment?
not much anymore. mostly has been replaced by the FAST exam. but its a useful skill to know.
WOW
28 STAB WOUNDS
How do you know what to handle first? Obviously stop bleeding first, but then how do you decide afterwards? What takes priority?
Do a first aid course, it's the best thing you will ever do even if you never have to use it
salt of the earth. calm and brilliance under pressure. docs like this are underpaid compared to basketball players. much more value to society.
thank u so much for these kind words!
No one discounts what doctors do but you cannot compare them to NBA players. Becoming a doctor is not easy but making the NBA is like one in a million.
Godayum I wish my KD was the like dislike ratio!
interesting story! you didn't initial any organs when you were in there? ( I kid .. that's terrible to do )
"dr parker was here"
U looks like jaime Lannister
I was stabbed in my right pectoralis with a eight inch chefs knife it went in a inch and a half and nicked my heart and partially collapsed my right lung I know I shouldn't have but I pulled it out and sliced my hand open doing so now I had a para cardial window and I'm still trying to figure out why I'm still sore can you or anyone explain to me why six months later I'm still in pain
Interesting. Could be a nerve that was injured. Where is the pain?
@@drbuckparker the pain is located on the large abdominal scar and in my upper back by my shoulder blade roughly direct opposite the wound site and around the third rib on the right side it's just not making much sense
I got stabbed I think I’m dealing with food n fluids leaking inside me
you gotta go to the ER STAT!
