- Ladies and Gentlemen, Trekkers and Trekkies....I give you... my remake of Stealing the Enterprise. I said months ago I was going to make this and just never got around to doing it...until now. Surprisingly, it actually just took me 2 days to throw this together. A partial remake seeing I actually wanted to start from when they were inside Earth Spacedock. But, to make things a bit faster, I just started when the Enterprise was already outside.
I created my own shots instead of remaking the originals. Created the warp effect from Picard along with adding some camera shake when the Excelsior trying to jump to transwarp. I also added some jerking motions to the Excelsior. I wanted to show the warp field being activated, then suddenly shut off, back and forth. Ultimately I wanted to give it a bit of a modern take like my Wrath of Khan remake. Hopefully Ive gotten a bit better since that video lol. As always, enjoy :)

That warp transition, with the surge in the music, is GODLY.
They got impulse power so wrong in these movies. Enterprise should have surged away from spacedock when Kirk said "full impulse". You improved that here.

One of the best Trek sequences in film. You FEEL every emotion that the characters do in those moments. Mix in the incredible James Horner score and perfect dialog and it's a win all day long. The camera push into Kirk when he orders "Warp Speed" is epic. Enjoyed your take on the warping of the Enterprise with that POV.

I've always wondered if maybe scotty (unbeknownst to him) had actually saved the crew of the excelsior from a horrifying death. what if excelsior had exploded immediately after hitting transwarp? Anything can happen

Loved the sputtering transwarp fails! 😂 Also damn the excelsior's original bridge was massive! She's still a beautiful ship though way sexier when Sulu was in command 😉

I love the little detail of the Moon having lights on it's dark surface to imply colonies there. I hate the NUTrek warp effect though.
There should still be visible hull damage along the secondary hull and nacelles - remember that Enterprise had just returned to Spacedock from the battle with Khan/Reliant; the hull damage had not been repaired - otherwise a great video as always :)
But they had those wonderful DoT 7 auto repairing the hull 😁

I actually really liked the Excelsior attempting to jump multiple times in a row, but I think my favorite part was the flickering warp engines.
Best shot was when the Enterprise passed by, there was a pause as we watched her go towards the sun, then the Excelsior came from the corner of the screen. Beautiful camera work!
A little constructive criticism, the turning of the enterprise at the very beginning seemed a bit quick to me. Inertial dampers would definitely solve that, but I just felt aesthetically it was a bit too rapid.
All in all, excellent work! Subbed, liked and bell rung!

Generally I liked it. If you make a v.2 the spacedock should be in geostationary orbit not low orbit. Heading towards the Sun might cause problems with the warp envelope, so a shot of the Enterprise putting the Moon between them and the Excelsior would work better. The Excelsior would start drifting after the warp drive fails. Having the warp blow a safety valve after it fails and venting out warp plasma would be a nice touch.
That bit passing the sun in like 3 frames is cool but I'm not sure it's that fast. I previously mentioned ships have to jump instantaneous to warp 1 to avoid relativistic drag, but have to build up speed over tens of seconds after. You could show just whizzing past the moon, that would fly by at warp one, but sun is so big and far might take about a minute to reach at maximum acceleration.

One critique: If you go back to the original all the lighting was coming from the left side of the screen. The unrecognizable moon was lit from the same angle as the Enterprise and the Spacedock. You're has the Enterprise heading closer to the sun with the moon slither lit. While it was a cool shot, generally they wouldn't risk warp in the solar system let alone towards a star (see DS9 episode with intersystem warp jump).

Don't worry, in "the voyage home" Sulu takes the bird of prey into warp in Earth's atmosphere.
While not the most liked movie, you gotta admit the movie in this scene was some of the best in all of the original movies, it just gives you that feeling of tension :D

If Captain Styles came face to face with Captain Spock after his Enterprise shipmates risked their careers & their lives to save him from the Genesis Planet before it got destroyed, would Styles yell at him for what Kirk and his crew did to the Excelsior by sabotaging it before she left spacedock to break the Enterprise's speed records?
Perhaps they should rewrite and remake The motion picture Star Trek Nemesis also,put two stories lines in it,that will be fabulous !
Such as: a branch of Remans didn't follow Shinzon and his spaceship but they get the details of Geniuses plan from Romulian mainframe which Romulian took it from Klingoun(detailing in the motion picture Search for Spock)during the Dominic War,and after getting rid of the weakness of that technology, those Remans used it to recreat the planet Remus.
The ending : As Shinzon been killed, the camera switched to a new and vivid Remus showed,some Remans children walking on the beach of new Remus sea and their old Remans grant parents looking on the new sky and astonishing for the sense. Shinzon's death reflects Remus 's reborn.
Instead of one storyline,two stories lines maybe will more interactive in that motion picture.
The Enterprise warp sound effects are from the 2009 movie, 🙂

It might have been interesting, if when Kirk said, "Best speed..." you could see a plaid field approaching on the screen & a new burst of acceleration.

Looks really good. Only thing missing is the battle damage on the Enterprise. If that were added, it would be perfect. But, great job 👌!

I've been thinking about that. I might make a "What If..." series and include it. Have it catch up, THEN have the drive fail.

She can't do anything as well as she's still not armed with tractor beam..even if she's able to make their way to Genesis,Kruge is waiting for them...worsen the scenario,she's also not armed with shield until "Tuesday" as Excelsior was still in testing period & unfinished vessel...

Transwarp is faster than regular wrap. The Excelsior not only would've caught up, but also overrun the Enterprise, reaching Genesis before Kirk would.
I believe I speak for everyone if i say that we need a spacedock maneuvering scene
It would've been good to see Captain Styles being laughed at after he failed to stop the old Enterprise from getting away and also it would've been interesting to see him getting slapped in the face by Spock's human mother for trying to stop his friends from saving him on the Genesis Planet before degenerating Genesis wave would kill him.

Couldn't an admiral just get any ship to take them the Genesis. I would assume a Admiral is in charge of at least 5 Captains. Just pick one.
The Genesis Planet was declared off limits to all personnel except those assigned to the USS Grissom. Once Command declined Kirk's request, then any attempt to reach Genesis is by definition unsanctioned.
@@OptimusWombat I know all that but Kirk not using his Admiral skills could lied with using terms like Vulcan government, diplomacy and the point where Kirk made a mistake and it was his duty to fix it.
