Me either, I could watch Star Trek all day if I had the choice. I always enjoyed how ST 2, 3, and 4 all ran together as its own trilogy in side of the six TOS movies. I'd even sit down and watch Star Trek 5, which most people seen to not like that much. But I think there a couple good things to it. If its on, I'll watch it. Thank you again for your comment, and stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. Mike
The Enterprise was no less a part of the crew than any of the humans and others aboard her. The mighty old gal went out for one final, and perhaps greatest, mission - to reclaim one of the most dearly beloved of her precious, cherished, and irreplaceable family.
I remember seeing Wrath of Khan in a theater 2 years ago for its 40th, and I was very pleased to see that it held up on a big screen. I hope they do that for this one as well. About the only one I'm not sure will look that good is Final Frontier, but between the studio screwing that one so badly with the budget, and ILM being unavailable, it really never had a chance.
The scene at the 1:58 second mark....Imagine how incredible a future that would be to be able to sit at a lounge table eating your lunch & calmly just watching a huge, graceful starship slowly backing out of port...as if it were just an ordinary everyday thing. THIS is why I Love TREK so much, it gives us a glimpse of a magnificent future we MIGHT have....as long as we're not foolish enough to prevent it.
he would have been even wiser if he just closed the door after he left the dock. No one was at the door controls in the station so it would have been an epic crash.
Star Trek III really is a great film. For decades it was considered a weak film amongst the series, but after several views recently on 4K disc, it is not only an excellent film filled with great story telling, drama, and Shatner's finest performance, it is an incredible 4K experience and the sound mix of one of the finest sound tracks of any film....just perfect. I highly recommend this movie for new fans but for old fans to re-watch. I love it.
Mine as well. I am a huge Star Trek Fan, but this scene in Star Trek III is probably my favorite. So I was feeling a little nostalgic this morning, and I thought our subscribers and viewers would enjoy seeing this scene again. Thank you for your comment, it is greatly appreciated. And stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. MIke
Proof that music makes the scene - this action-packed sequence is basically the Star Trek equivalent of backing the minivan out of the garage, and yet it rocks.😂
I love the scene when the captain of the Excelsior is relaxing in his quarters and questions the yellow alert. Then that moment he realizes this is the real deal! Also loved how graceful the starships looked in this scene.
Such a great scene. I love Star Wars but the original trek has always been my favorite as well as the films. I just feel their much more dramatic. Like a submarine more so than a space ship. Where star wars seems like fantasy this just feels more realistic. I wish these actors would have lived forever to bring us these films and great dramatic scenes. These movies may not all be the best but I think we can agree they are very entertaining.
This is such a great sequence. The music is perfect, I love the story beats and the tension. As pompous as Captain Styles is, he still adds weight to the scene. II and VI are my clear favourites of the Original movies but some of my favourite scenes are from III.
I really enjoy this scene as well. I enjoy the entire movie, but this scene, to me, is the best scene in the move. My favorites in the TOS movie series are 2, 4, and 6. I basically fall into the stereotype that the even numbered Star Trek films are the stronger ones. But ST Three is pretty darn good. I'm such a big Star Trek fan, that if Star Trek 5 was on I'd sit down and watch it. Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed our video and stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. Mike
From 3:22 onwards for the next 30 seconds, is the best example I know of how the right score can immeasurably enhance a scene - James Horner really was a genius. My favourite scene in Star Trek bar none
Star Trek III was one of my favorite sequels. The continuation of the Kobayashi Maru scenerio from STII was a great subplot. Spock's solution was to sacrifice himself to save the ship and crew, while Kirk's final solution was to sacrifice the ship to save the entire crew. STII AND STIII were a great 1-2 punch in cinema history.
I missed that too back in the 80's when both of those movies were new. But before we got to 1990, I did finally make the connection. I think there are probably a ton of people that probably miss that connection between ST3 and Robocop.
@@zsigzsag Bob Morton : We get the best of both worlds. The fastest reflexes possible today, computer-assisted memory, and a lifetime of on-the-street officer programming. It is my great pleasure to present to you... RoboCop.. RIP Miguel Ferrer you left us before your time.
I liked Search for Spock, but the one thing that still makes me cringe is that horrible costume for Chekov. He looks like he should be on a poster for Dutch Boy Paint. On the other hand, when the ship is nearing the space doors we get to see Sulu's with round eyes for a moment.
Well, they knew it was Kirk who broke McCoy out after Admiral Morrow had already denied Kirk permission to go to Genesis. It was Kirk’s ship…..as Spock would say, it was a “logical conclusion”
Why post a clip that has been posted a million times before by other channels? A few channels even make their own CGI and edit it in. All you have done is (probably) just copied the clip from another channel and uploaded it. What a pointless exercise. Do better.
Now I want to see the whole movie again (seen more than a couple time already...lol). Never get tired of, Star Trek!

It's funny. The Enterprise in the films isn't real, it's a set, a series of models.
But somehow, I never liked her replacement anywhere near as much.
She backed out of Starbase taking one last look because she knew this was her last mission. One last thing to do.
@@mrb.5610 no kidding they're models we all know that hello?
The best sequence in any Star Trek movie.
James B Sikking’s death last week brought me to this iconic Star Trek scene once more…R.I.P. James…you were an 80’s veteran icon actor😢
This was made 40 years ago. The SFX hold up superbly. Also, the writing is far superior to what we have now.

James Horners score makes this one of the best scenes in Star Trek the man was a genius!!
RIP James B. Sikking who passed away two days ago, on July 13th, 2024. He was the actor who portrayed Captain Styles.
RIP :(
Great Actor
Man what a great scene. Love the broken engine sound when the Excelsior tries to go transwarp. And Scotty, as wise as usual. Thank you!

Yes, the marshals' baton for Styles is a nice visual representation of his narcissism.

I remember that ship sputtering to a halt in the theater. Everyone cheered and laughed at the sound effect, because most could relate.
Kind of like the Millennium Falcon's hyperdrive sputtering out in Empire Strikes Back.
That was so nice I had to watch it twice.

3:27 Instant goosebumps every time!
With practical effects like this, who the heck needs CGI?

Absolutely, I could agree more with you.
Can't remember at what point I realized the Excelsior helm is Clark in Robocop.

He was also in Twin Peaks, Hot Shots 2 and he is the son of José Ferrer, that portrait Padishah Imperador Shaddam IV in Dune.
