    I just got my very first glueless lacefront wig and it felt so different from the basic caps that I'm used to. It honestly felt like nothing was holding it onto my head. I got some of the wig bands you're using and wow, what a difference! It feels so secure now. Your videos are so helpful to wig newbies like me, thank you!

    I have been so curious about the wig generation (but also noticed women who have medical reasons are inspiring with their wigs and tutorials). I've been wanting to try it, but I know nothing about wigs or how to pick, fit, etc. You are SO great at visually teaching and mentioning the 'do-nots' which is how I learn best. Really amazing. Thank you!

    I just had to come in here and just first and foremost, gosh you’re such a natural gorgeous woman, radiant ❤ I’ve struggling with trichotillomania since 15, I’m now almost 46 😮 My hair is naturally super thick grows long (if I don’t pull it out 😂) I’ve been doing my own extensions for 20 something years and they look amazing, you can’t see them although I put them right on top of my head. But it takes me so so so long, although they last for almost 6 months. I’m getting over it, so I’m going to try and start “wigging” it. Your videos are so helpful, so thank you so much for all your help, god knows I’ll need it.. ❤

    I want to thank you... I've had to get a few wigs as I'm suffering with Alopecia. It literally took me a couple of minutes to put wig on.
    I bought a wig grip ike the one you showed... put it on the right way first time... YAY.
    All I have to do now is learning how to use the ties in the wig... that'll take practice. I'm not used to my hair being thick so that's going to take practice too.
    Thanks Steph you're an angel ❤

    Ah. Gosh. Looks so so pretty!!! I recently had a mental break and my anxiety was so bad I just started plucking out my hair until I literally had like a receding hairline and a bald spot. It was too lateby the time I looked into the mirror, and I ended up having to shave my head bald. Still makese choke up and it was almost two weeks ago. All I can afford are cheap like Walmart wigs lol. Single mom of twin three year old girls equals broke and temporarily unemployed!!! Gosh but someday I'm going to get a wig like this one!!! Looks really beautiful on you!!! Love the tutorial! Thank you for sharing! 💕

    You are really good at teaching for beginners because you take it step by step and you don't rush. Thank you for doing this and the wig looks really good on you. I have alopecia so the hairline has to look natural. I like low density wigs and want to get one but I am wondering how am going to keep the temple area secure. Can you pull this into a ponytail?

    Hi Steph, I am 65 and have lovely natural curly hair (red). My hair is fine like yours and just flattens out with hats and headbands in the winter. Anyhoo, I have ordered two different hairpieces and one wig. I am hoping that I love them when they come. I am trying to find pieces that are similar to my hair!! So hard to find the color. First I really appreciate your tutoring and info. Secondly, it's really inspiring how natural you look in your wigs, and how much you enjoy them on a daily basis. I feel as though I am just dipping my toe in the water. I hope the water is warm. You seem to be enjoying yourself. Thanks for your lovely sharing. Heather

    @Wigs with Steph......THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for your wig tutorial !!! You have NO idea how much your wig tutorial has helped me. I have two brand new wigs. (Ignite & Cory) I am NEW to the world of wigs & today was the very FIRST day I have worn one, just around the house, but tomorrow, I now have the confidence to wear it in public. thanks to listening & learning from you & to you. I would love to cut "bangs" on my "Ignite", but I just KNOW I would mess it up, so, I will wait. But I NEED to have "bangs" & have ALWAYS worn them, which is why I bought "Cory". Anyway, many, MANY THANKS for this FANTASTIC tutorial.

    Hi Steph, really appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos. Seeing as you’ve experienced both wigs what would be your favourite for everyday wear.. JR Zara lite or RW Mesmerised. Looking forward to more awesome vids from you. 😊❤

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  Рік тому +1

      Hey!! ❤️ I’ve been really enjoying both of them so much. They are very different though, so depends what you prefer/ what head size you have. Mesmerized is heat friendly, Zara Lite is not. Mesmerized is a smaller cap, Zara Lite is larger. Mesmerized has an undetectable lace front (more highlights at the hairline), whereas Zara Lite has a few dark knots at the front (not as much highlights brought to the front) ❤️

    Thank you SOOOO MUCH for going into detail. I'm new to wigs, and have spent SOOOO much $$ and when they arrive it looks fake and I'm disappointed and put it in the drawer along with 30+other ones. Sadly I've never worn one because of all that you mentioned. I would die if a gush of wind caused it to fall off. Loved your thorough explanation. But Im interested to know if the coconut oil makes the wig inside smelly and oily??

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  10 місяців тому +1

      Not at all =) If your hair is dry like mine, your hair will likely soak of most of it anyways. I can tell you that I've been doing it this way for years and I've never had a smelly, oily wig. Ever!
      (Even when it comes time to wash my wig, it's NEVER because of a smelly or oily cap.. it's because the fibers need to be cleaned and refreshed. But it's never to do with the cap).
      And of course the coconut oil step might not be for everyone. But if I didn't mention it in this video (when I really do this every time), then I'd feel like I missed telling you all about a very important step in my routine to care for my hair 🥹 Also, if your hair doesn't like coconut oil, or you don't like it, you definitely don't have to use it. I just really love it.

      @@WigsWithSteph THANK YOU so much for your lengthy reply- its so nice of you to explain all that. I have the lace front easy does it wig, by Raquel Welsh. Having an issue with the lace front not laying flat, what can I be doing wrong? Should the cat be tighter or looser?

    • @nancyruckman5875
      @nancyruckman5875 2 місяці тому +1

      First, try tightening up the wig at the nap of the neck. It might gap if it's too loose. If that doesn't work just run a little bit of It Stays (A type of wig glue) along your skin where the lace is gapping, then put your wig on and hold it down with your finger for a minute or two. NEVER pull on the lace. Adjust your wig using the ear tabs only.

    I am new to wigs, have very simiilar petite dimensions as you, and do NOT want to wear a wig cap, so am trying your strategy of tiny hairband, skinny pony/bun in back as you show... but want to confirm which wig grip you now recommend for a well fitting wig (focusing on ellen willies petite/average) and with ear tabs, mostly open wefts) .. You listed the Milano COLLECTION No-Slip Wig Grip Band Original WiGrip Comfort Band for Women in another video, and here, the Dreamlover Wig Grip for female, Wig Grip Bands ... which of the two would you recommend for someone using your setup of pony/bun in back, with with grip ONLY, to keep it most securely on head as possible? Also, does it matter which color wig grip? And will this method harm my hair line? The wig caps, netted or nylon, ALL seemed to pull on my hair line and felt too tight, even with my tiny head... Thanks for your thoughts and I love your videos!

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  9 місяців тому

      I prefer my Milano wig grip more: amzn.to/3SiLbsL
      For the color of wig grip, I always think tan is best so that it mimics a head underneath. Too light of a band may make too much of a contrast between the band and your own hair (and if you’re not wearing a cap then it might be showing your own hair- if that’s a concern for you.) the Milano wig grip comes in tan, and it’s perfect for me.
      I don’t have any issues with the wig grip pulling on my hair at all. As long as your careful and mindful with how you wear your wigs, wigs can be a positive thing for your own hair and actually be protective, helping your hair to grow

      Yes, it’s normal to see the wig grip and it’s especially noticeable on me when I don’t wear a wig cap under the wig grip (because when I wear both, it’s the same color all the way around my head so there’s no difference in color). But because my hair is dark underneath, sometimes you can see where my wig grip ends (under the cap) and where my hair begins. I find people never notice this on me in person though because I’m taller and nobody can really see the top of my head. I always just wear my wigs like this and don’t worry about it and nobody ever knows. If I was a shorter person, then I think I’d wear a wig cap too to make sure it’s all one color to minimize the chances of someone noticing :)
      Hope this makes sense!

If i tighten the adjusters too much it slides worse so i try to keep it looser but it still likes to slide. Tips? I have simmer regular i wish they made petite... I have a weird head too, I guess! Sew two snap clips (one on each side) on the back of the wig (at the nape of the neck). I buy them online or at hair stylist shops. I sew them with a circular needle and thread the color of the wig cap. I make sure not to poke my finger while sewing. 😵
      When they're on the wig firmly, put on your wig. To snap the clips: I "grab" hair with each clip before snapping it shut, and "test it," move it around a tiny bit to see if it's going to hurt me or not. If it is, I re-grab hair until I find the perfect amount of hair that won't bother me, then I snap shut. Same with the other.
      That holds the wig down for me superbly!

    Does the wig cap not get oily from the coconut oil?

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  Рік тому +1

      Nope, it doesn't seem to get greasy. My hair also soaks up a lot of the oil before I put the wig on because it's super dry. And it's most important to me that my hair underneath doesn't break from rubbing against the wig cap that I wear for hours all day and the oil helps with that. Wig caps can strip your own natural hair oils, so that's why I recommend to moisturize your own hair before putting on a cap. I've never had an issue with a cap getting oily, but of course if you're concerned, you definitely don't have to put any oil on your own hair. This is just what I do, and I like it =)
      Hope this helps. =)

    If you have a wig that matches you real hair color, and you have very little thin hair, can a person keep her hair cut just a touch shorter than the wig and just leave you hair down and put the wig on over it?

    How do you fix when the lace pops up a bit? With the wig grip I can’t get the lace to lay flat.

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  9 місяців тому +1

      When that happens to me, it’s usually on one of my “lite” wigs (by Jon Renau), in which case I usually push the wig grip back a bit (means it’s too close to the hairline) and then I do a quick tuck of the ear tabs bottom hairs behind my ears. That usually does the trick for me 💁🏼‍♀️

      No, you don’t need to use glue at all. It is not my hair that keeps the wig on. If you have a glueless wig (a wig that has ear tabs & stays in the ear tabs) and a wig grip, your wig will absolutely stay on 🤗

      @nancyruckman5875 2 місяці тому

      Only if you pull the hair back to expose them. Some ear tabs have wig hair right on them especially on short haircut wigs where hair naturally would be. If the lace is ear to ear, it looks most natural.

    Are there glueless wigs that are a lot more affordable?

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  8 місяців тому +1

      There definitely is! But always remember that you do get what you pay for. If someone has spent more time making it, it will be better quality and the cost will be higher. If it didn’t take much time, is wefted (made by a machine), hairline quickly thrown together, you can find a pretty cheap wig like that. All price ranges exist. I like to show what I wear because they tend to look the most natural, but definitely there are others that exists for cheaper; it just won’t be of the same quality, if that makes sense.

    What are these types of wigs called?!

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  Рік тому

      Hiii! These types of wigs don’t have a specific name, because it’s just the cap construction that make them able to be worn glueless. That’s why I call them “glueless wigs”.
      This cap construction (the glueless) are my favourite and I’ve done a ton of reviews on this type from all different brands if you’d like to check out my playlists of wig reviews 🤗💕 hopefully this helps xo

    Whoa! No coconut oil! It loosens the knots on the lace!!!!

    • @WigsWithSteph
      @WigsWithSteph  8 місяців тому

      Nope it doesn't. I don't put it on the cap. It's going on my hair, which soaks it up. My hair is very dry. It is very common to tame your hair back before applying a wig. And if you're concerned, you can always wear a wig cap underneath as a barrier between the two.
      I am also wearing a wig grip which for the most part, keeps the knots from sitting directly on my hair. Also, depends on the cap!!! I wear a ton of Mono tops too, which again, keeps the knots off my head. With lace, yes, you can take extra precaution, but this is the way I do it, all I can do is tell the truth, and it's been working perfectly for me for years. I've never EVER had an issue with knots. You are free to do whatever you're comfortable with!
