Hi Steph, thanks for the tips. I have been wearing wigs for a little over 20 years. I have used fabric softener the entire time for my synthetic wigs as a conditioner. However, I can only use the scent-free variety, as fabric softeners can have an extremely heavy scent, that can linger for quite some time on a wig. I hang the wig upside to dry. Then, I spray AllDay Locks Synthetic Wig Spray on it. I also lightly spray this on my synthetic wigs after each time I wear one, especially underneath at the nape and in the front pieces. Its amazing stuff (sold on Amazon). Yes, I too have the Simply Stylin', which I use and like very much -- it's a great product. As to taming permatease on a synthetic: The hot comb does a great job, even on regular synthetics. Of course, it has to be at a low setting and use a very light touch. There are several videos demonstrating this technique. I have been using the TressTech wig wax spray which is fantastic, albeit very expensive, but will try the KeraCare wax stick. This will be good for when I travel. Thanks for that one and for this video.
Steph I want to thank you so much! I have been on this wig journey for the past year and totally enjoying changing up my look at a whim. I don't have a medical reason, fortunately, but I am just loving getting the hair I cannot grow myself. I have short fine hair. Your videos have taught me so much & helped me get those natural looks from a variety of styles & colors.
@@Suesthedancer hiii! ❤️😍 oh my gosh, this is wonderful news!! You’re so very welcome 😊🫶 I’m so glad my videos have been helpful to you and that you’ve found some great wigs that you love!! ❤️
Good advice thank you. I would add to caution “new to wig” wearer’s not to jump into “customization” right out of the box. Do not remove tags, do not remove zigzag part, do not even comb, as to preserve original condition to be able to return. This is well known among wig wearer’s however not every new wearer does enough research before jumping into purchasing a wig or two…. Pop it on your head check for color, length and general style/shape. Then make a decision whether you can keep it (and work with it/customize it) or not. I appreciate all the great wig review gals online. But I am always surprised at how few times I’ve heard it mentioned, to analyze and make a decision first, before cutting tags/altering. Thanks for including a lot of good tips in this one. Kind regards 🙂
I use a hot comb to maintain my heat friendly synthetic. The best time to use it is after it is washed and before it’s dry. The water protects the fibers.
I am expecting my first wig heat friendly brooklyn from belle tress, now I am wondering if I have washed this wig can it be put in a hood dryer. so that the inside dries faster. or is this not necessary and does it really dry overnight? or do you have a better tip on how to dry the inside?
I keep hearing “put some heat on it” my wig is heat friendly but it’s wavy/curled. I don’t want to straighten it. So what am I to do? I’d love more detail. I have Simmer Elite. Chose it after watching your videos
I’ve been trying wigs with bangs and all of them have arrived with the bangs stuck down to the forehead, which is very unnatural, do you have a video on how to style synthetic bangs right out of the box?
Spray you're bangs with water get your self a round brush then on low and low heat put the hair dryer on your bangs that you have in your round brush on low heat for five seconds on your bangs take away the dryer do it again for five seconds let your bangs cool for a minute if you have a cool setting on your dryer use that after you have applied the heat I'm a bangs girl and only use regular synthetic this works perfect on bangs just make sure you spray water or you'll synge your hair. Only a couple seconds at a time with the lowest heat setting then you have to let the hair cool completely hope this helps and I hope I'm making sense 😁👍👍😂

Such a great video! Totally agree about the fabric softener.
Lots of great useful info! Any tips for dark lace on the front hairline? I’ve tried powder, foundation, but it’s still dark. Thank you.
Thank you for all these great tips 💞

What size block do I get for Simmer Elite? Link please if you can.
You look like a petite Sabrina Carpenter...
What do I do with a wig that’s too big doesn’t fit my head securely.
