If you have a breakdown in a lift or difficulty maintaining position, you don’t have to regress the lift. The opposite should be done instead and work to build and strengthen that weakness or position with the heaviest loads possible. We can segment certain positions or muscles involved in building them. When you are struggling to lead your deadlift with thoracic extension, your hips may pop up before your chest rises. Rather than pout, get to work on building your weak link. Care in point here a standing Kelso shrug can do wonders to build thoracic extension and shoulder depression ability. would this be used primarily for being programmed or can it work before deadlifting, as a ‘warm-up’?
Y Liu can use it as both but heavily loaded is better post deads
