I give it 5 years before there’s a convergence of really compelling EVs at affordable prices plus very good charging infrastructure that will be impossible to overcome. America may put up trade barriers to keep Chinese EVs out but it’s a speed bump at most. If American politicians actively work to punitively inhibit EV adoption, then Detroit automakers will become increasingly irrelevant and the Chinese will simply take over the global entry level auto market.
