Great little tractor!! The issue with the fuel solenoid is this. There are two coils… a “pull” coil and a “hold” coil. When you start the engine they both operate, but when the plunger reaches the full stroke on the solenoid, it shuts the “pull” coil off. The “hold” coil doesn’t have the strength to pull the plunger all the way in. When you push the plunger in, then the “hold” coil can maintain the solenoid in the “run” position. So… the “pull” coil is burned out in the solenoid. Very common on these engines. I used them to build generators as well. The fact that the plunger doesn’t easily move when the engine shuts down means the plunger is sticky which is what would have burned out the “pull” coil as it couldn’t move far enough in to shut it off. Just replace the shutoff solenoid and you’ll be fine. 🙂👍🏻
Yes, thank you. I figured it out, was actually a bad connection in the relay plug. Just cleaned contacts and was fine. Thanks for the advice and for watching
Absolutely, I've also owned a 755 for over 20 years, and it's been great. Hoping when I get this one sorted it will be as reliable. Check out my 755 playlist, and thank you for watching.
Glad to help you identify the loader model. The stands for it are made with 1" round stock for the legs and 1-1/8" for the part that slides into the parking stand sleeve on each side of the loader. Good progress so far on getting the 855 started and taking care of some of the issues!
I have a 1990 855, with a 70A loader, the Power Beyond and number 7 backhoe. The fuel tank and battery swapped locations at some point in time. Also, my air cleaner is in front of the radiator. This is my second 855. If I remember correctly, my first one was a 1988 model. Both were/are great small tractors. Last summer I repaired some hydraulic system leaks and replaced some worn loader valve linkage. Next will be replacing seals on the front axle. I would look forward to a video on that subject if you find the need. I have already subscribed and look forward to future videos.
If need be yes, I would share a video for that process. Lol, I hope I don't, but after I clean up this 855, I will be monitoring for leaks Thank you for watching and check out my 755 playlist as some repairs are common for the whole 55 series.
I think you have a 755 engine or an 855 hood. The gas tank and air filters and battery on your tractor are in the 755 location. The 855 has the gas tank up next to the steering wheel, and the battery and air filter are up front between the grill and the radiator.
I think you may have a Frankenstein tractor. Parts from different tractors to make a tractor that works. The fact that you have a different loader than it should, truck tires, and the 755 engine with an 855 hood and decal makes me lean that way. If you measure the wheel base, you’ll know if the frame is a 755 or an 855. The 855 is a longer tractor. I think you might need to flush the hydraulic system since you had chunks come out with your fluid.
Did some research. There is an early model and a late model 855. The early model had a front fuel tank and electric fuel pump. Late model center tank and a mechanical pump. Apparently, jd changed the design around the time the 955's were being introduced. This threw me for a loop because I worked on a late model 855 a while back with the front tank.
@@andytrimble9579 I just learned something. Every 855 I’ve ever seen has the tank up near the steering column and the 755 has it at the front. Thanks, I will have to take a look at my parts manuals to see if they show an older and newer 855 in the parts locations.
Sorry, it's strictly to protect the hydraulic pump as the transmission has its own filter underneath even though they use the same fluid. Hope this explains it. Thanks for watching!
Can you share the diagram for the loader arms? I bought an 855 lad winter with a 52 series loader in it. I don’t think the stand arms are inside the frame on my loader either
facebook.com/groups/713254187571898/ I can't post diagrams or pictures here. I'll post it on my Facebook group. It's from the parts manual so doesn't show dimensions, you'll'll have to figure it out. I will be making a video about fabricating them soon if you want to wait. Thanks for watching!

While Nothing might run Like a Deere...Nothing Stinks like a John !
My brother and I bought a 1994 855 and had it for over 20 years until we sold it. It was a good compact tractor never gave us any problems

What a beautiful Beetle! Yes definitely do a video on that for sure!!
Thank you, I will when I get it ready for summer. Thank you for watching!
Love the series
Thank you very much! I'm working on Ep 3 now. Thanks for subscribing.

955 has the battery in front and fuel tank near the dash.
@@andytrimble9579 the 855 and 955 are alike, and the 755 and 655 are alike. I have an 855 and a 755.
