  • Ever have a windshield wiper arm, or rear window wiper arm, break off? We did. This video shows how to replace the rear window wiper arm and blade on a 2011 Honda Odyssey van, but it's essentially the same process for most newer vehicles with this style arm.
    Maybe your window wiper arm didn't break off but it's just not putting enough pressure on the window to clear away the water. That could mean that the wiper arm spring is worn or broken. In that case, you'll want to follow these same instructions to replace the wiper arm.
    The steps are simple:
    1. If the wiper arm is still on the vehicle, remove the plastic cap at the base of the arm. You should be able to remove this by simply prying up on it with your fingers.
    2. Remove the nut that is holding the arm in place.
    3. Use a wiper arm/battery terminal puller tool to remove the arm.
    4. Press the new arm on in the same location as the original.
    5. Re-install the nut and tighten it.
    6. Clip the plastic cap back on.

    Double thumbs up to how well you explained it. However, next time pleaseee get your camera person to zoom in and shine light where your working. It’d help sooo much for the audience to see better and avoid guess work.

    This is EXACTLY what happened with my 2014 Acura RDX. Thank you for the demonstration and the tool recommendation. I will try it.

    Good afternoon, I really enjoyed your video and replacement would have been easy except for the fact that I have a 2015 Chevy Trax. My wife started backing out of the garage before the overhead door was all the way up. As a result, the bottom lip of the garage door, came into contact with the wiper arm, and snapped it off of the pin that the arm mounts to. The pin still functions properly, but there doesn't appear to be a way to attach the new arm onto the pin. To clarify myself, the cover for the wiper arm, does not have a removable piece in which to access the retaining nut.

    Its funny that my minivan also had the same exact part broken similary way. I guess they are built flimsy these days. Never happened with any other older cars I have had. Thanks for the video, this was very helpful.

      BTW, I did not have puller so I ended up using a cone wrench and wiggled it a bit and it easily came off.

    You can also use a bathtub handle puller if you have one available, as I did; just leave the nut on a few threads to stop the tip of the puller from slipping off the end of the bolt.

      If you haven't done so yet, use some lubricant on the nut and let it set for a few hours. Try Kroil or PB Blaster or something like those.

    Thank you for the video. Got the nut off the wiper blade arm and can’t pull the arm off. Do I need one of these tools or some WD-40? TIA

    • @RaybuckAutoBodyParts
      @RaybuckAutoBodyParts  2 роки тому +1

      You'll most likely need one of these tools. It's pressed on, so using a lubricant like WD-40 isn't really going to make a difference.
