So I'm guessing the hydraulics are not working on the truck and they cannot dump the contents, spread them out, hose them down and leave. Hard way to put out compacted trash in a truck.

If not in the beginning they were on that last lift by the front end loader. The hydraulic fluid looked like "Old Faithful" blowing out those cylinders.

This is an other example , the driver called the fire in , but it was'nt possible to dump the garbidge in that aerea so the comander disided for this action and drove de garbage truck to the unloading zone with an escort of Police and fire trucks

In the netherlands is it a standard procedure to dump the garbage on the street when the garbagetruckdriver sees that there is a fire even before the fire brigade arrives at first he saves the garbage truck and second its easyer to fight the fire

They should have hooked chains from the hopper to the hooks on the front end loaders bucket . Then raise the bucket to open the hopper. Also common sense you can't lift the hopper if the hydraulics are under pressure.

Most never think about it until a hose is already cooked and then it is too late. A smart driver dumps the load calls the fire in then calls dispatch to send a crew with an open top to clean up after the fire is out as the ticket for dumping the load is less then the cost of a new truck.
