I remember the old sandcrusier gabage trucks a friend father had a trash company up north that's what he started the bussiness with thanks for keeping sandercrusier history alive I be wacthing👀 for more of your sandcruser videos👍👍
I learned on a packer like this it was a 13 yard and then a 17 yard it packed quite good and then I worked on a Garwood it had a single dumping station and was chain driven I remember seeing it when I was a little boy in N.Y. working on it was a treat and brought back so many memories 4 me 😅
holy guacamole. This is the kind of thing we as filmers dream about. Some tiny company, out in the middle of nowhere, with an exceptionally maintained, beautiful sounding, classic truck that has never been in front of a camera before. It pains me to think that I had been born a couple years earlier, I would have been able to work on a truck with this same body. The setting goes with the truck perfectly. The dirt alleys and slightly junky homes really give the impression of time traveling back to the 70's or 80's with an HD camera, which couldn't be more ideal in my eyes. I can't say I recognize the green carts, they look like like IPLs/Otto classics plus the weird lid handles. 10/10 video, it's hard to say how this could be better.
Thanks man! Couldn't have been a better area to find a truck like this for all the reasons you mentioned and it was super easy to follow him around the streets and not even have to follow him in the car for long distances at all. Some of the most fun i've had filming a truck so really glad you enjoy and appreciate it. Thanks again!
Those packmasters had a pretty decent design. Very efficient. This one had a good packing cycle as well. Here in Milwaukee, we had the exact same trucks. Brings back memories. cool vid.
I grew up working with my folks, we had our own trash co n i remember we had two of thees old leechs. Been in the game for almost 30 years now. Loved seeing this work, bringd back so many memories.
i drove of these in the 90,s except the company that owned it was C&B sanitation how nice to see one of these again I still drive trash truck to this but they have come a longways now
Oh that's fantastic!!! For as many times as I've found Sanicruisers rotting in yards around the states I can't recall ever seeing one in action. What an eccentric packing mechanism! It's like watching a steam locomotive where everything that moves is exposed and visible. Glad you documented it for us!
Thank you, really glad you enjoyed this one! I was very surprised to find one of these still being used since I never thought that I would be able to see one of these in person. It's crazy the stuff you can find in some of these small towns out this way if you really look hard enough. I've been finding all sorts of goodies in this part of the country.
Man I LOVE LOVE this truck will see if you got more films of it.I like how the packer follows that pre cut ridge in the sides interesting..Nice driver too thats a real find.Thank you
I remember this type of trash body on a truck when I was a child, in Keene, NH. Former WL Bourassa Disposal had one. (They utilized mostly Leach trash bodies of various types. )
When I was on vacations from school I used to work on a few of these. In the late 80s early 90s. 25 yards with MB 600 Mack cab and smaller tilt to dump versions with old Autocar cab. I would have to say I preferred the 2R when it came to packing out a big load. Those bar and clamp push out systems were a pain in the neck when they weren't working properly though.
Nice find! This truck is such a classic, I'm surprised they are still running it. With the driver dressing like that and driving that truck it totally looks like a 1970's/80's garbage day. Great work!
Damn, brings me back to working summers in early 80's. Leach 2-R were the workhorse of the the fleet but City had a few 70's trucks as well and the Sanicruiser wasn't bad. City also had a leftover Garwood Dual-Blade rearloader.................horrible to work on that truck. Eventually it was scrapped for another 2-R
Great work! Awesome find for sure! Take away the high quality camera and some of the carts and I would be convinced this was filmed in the 70s/80s! Everything about it was perfect, to the old barrels, the background objects, sleepy little town...it fits so well. The packer on is very neat to watch! Amazing to see it in action. The driver looks fresh off the putting green lol Thanks for catching this!
Thanks man! I think I would have rather seen it used on a full manual route with no carts to make it feel more old school but it had an awesome tipper so I was ok with it haha.
The 2RII was the best body Leach ever put out though. The single hopper handle can't compare to the user friendly two handle hoppers as far as easily packing a big load.
Great to see a classic from the past!!! One of my favorites, who was with you filming? Would love to see more of this truck. Love the sound. Great job Alex!!! glad this video will preserve what was a great truck it was. Can watch this all day!!
Awesome video! It seems like this driver’s style is from 1980 as well, But his khakis don’t seem to be that dirty, how does that work?? lol. I’ve got an old photo of me when I was like 5 or 6 next to a Rogue Disposal Sanicruiser with a toy rifle because I was playing war with my friends lol
I’m thinking of a Caterpillar 3108 or 3208 diesel or Cummins engine in the International S series Leach Rear Loader Garbage truck and even rare Single axle model
Nice! Interesting packer design...don't think I've seen anything like it before. Seems like it works pretty well with the blade opening and descending at the same time. Also really like the sound of this. Reminds me of a truck I used to work on. What other types of trucks do they run?

This takes me back to the old days of the '90s when we had yellow garbage trucks in South Philly. Those old trash compacter noises. Fascinating.
Love the operator! Looks like he's gonna go play eighteen holes after the route is done.
Might be too tired.😂

That truck is in perfect shape for a restore and recondition. Sounds like it runs good and the packer is still functioning as it should
That would be beautiful 😊❤

And he does it with such class. It looks like he's ready to go golfing. How does he stay so clean?
Now that's what the garbage trucks looked like in Delaware back in the 80's and early 90's.
what a great video. I never thought I would get to see a truck like this run again. Thanks so much

I bet you finding all kinds of surreal "WTF" moments out there.
Interesting choice of uniform.

Thank you! It was definitely quite the travel back in time.
Watching this makes me feel like I have a glimmer of hope that the one Sanicruiser in my area gets put back in service. Great video Alex
Check out Sons of Kristoff in Sterling Ma. they still use a sani-cruiser.
Thanks man. If it ever does get put back into service i'll be very excited to see a bunch of footage from you.
You can always buy old trash trucks from commercial auctions and run them yourself. Usually $5,000 or around that.
never seen a garbage man dressed like a golfer lol when was the last time he cleaned behind the blade interesting packing on this
Garbage Man Golf Style. I would called it a Golf Disposal Garbage Company.
Hee Hee.
David Schieler ψψψψψ
Love the old trucks with the 5 spoke wheels!
A Dayton axle??
God I miss the mom and pop trash routes.
1988 I worked with same REL ( rear end loader ) truck at Saudi Arabia. The company was " BFI " USA
Especially the old fashioned bulldozer blade, and the push out system
Jorge Figueroa q
my dude look like he boutta go golfing

Bravo just bravo 👏 prolly first truck they had and prolly first truck that guy drove
Probably* I meant
Now that's what I call an garbage truck in the 1997 year
Great work! Awesome find for sure! Take away the high quality camera and some of the carts and I would be convinced this was filmed in the 70s/80s! Sure would lol
Too bad the carts were Roll A Waste carts, old school for sure haha
That's one oldie
Nice! Keep it up!
Thank you!
classy garbage man in a classic truck
The 2RII was the best body Leach ever put out though. The single hopper handle can't compare to the user friendly two handle hoppers as far as easily packing a big load.
Nice!
Thanks!
What is the lever gearbox top of tailgate for????
Great to see a classic from the past!!! One of my favorites, who was with you filming? Would love to see more of this truck. Love the sound. Great job Alex!!! glad this video will preserve what was a great truck it was. Can watch this all day!!
Thank you! AmrepMike was filming with me so expect more footage in the future from him.
crafty .man bop
Is this guy playing a round of golf before or after the route?
that truck needs some Rusteze!
Inefficient...fill the hopper up, and Then try to Dump the Toter.
what kind of transmission you got 6 speed manual
Awesome video! It seems like this driver’s style is from 1980 as well, But his khakis don’t seem to be that dirty, how does that work?? lol. I’ve got an old photo of me when I was like 5 or 6 next to a Rogue Disposal Sanicruiser with a toy rifle because I was playing war with my friends lol
This is an old BFI Waste Truck?
Most of the IH garbage trucks would be on Cargostar chassis, not the S-series.
My local disposal company has an old clapped out Heil 5000 / IH S-Series
Is he going golfing lol
Garbage Tuesday morning and then go home from Jake Faith
I’m thinking of a Caterpillar 3108 or 3208 diesel or Cummins engine in the International S series Leach Rear Loader Garbage truck and even rare Single axle model
It's a Detroit Diesel 7.6 466E!
Nice! Interesting packer design...don't think I've seen anything like it before. Seems like it works pretty well with the blade opening and descending at the same time. Also really like the sound of this. Reminds me of a truck I used to work on. What other types of trucks do they run?
Thank you! The other truck they run is a Ford L9000 with a Loadmaster body which they use for all of there dumpsters.
This engine sounds like a old cat
Does it get used for dumpsters
Is that Stacy Keach?
Can we hear the air horn on it
ex BFI ?
It doesn't have license plates.
8:27 HOW THE FUCK😮😮
I guess its a small town if this man is working alone...and the blade is too slow🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Why is he in Golf clothes
The blade is not interesting for the poor garbage I have have mega feelings for the poor dreamy garbage
