For me, I use it to attack the back knee, a technique seen more in Kali and Silat. As you block the low roundhouse with your shin, you turn your leg sideway to do the oblique kick or side kick to the side of the back leg, hitting the knee
Not married to my opinion, but... Jon Jones sounds right to me when he says someone is trying to give you brain damage, you give them a limp, that's an even exchange. You don't fuck up your training partners, though. Brain damage or otherwise.
This is a great great kick! I also to like step on their front foot and knee to abdomen or a straight or elbow to their face! Being they can't pick up their foot or step back it puts them on their ass 75% of the time. It more than likely not gonna knock them out but it's very mentally demoralizing
You only pivot if you’re trying to open up your hips, u don’t need to open your hips for this. It needs to be fast and straight so u can land it without the opponent noticing.
I'm for the knee shot. Pro and street. Let's say it's a wome. BOUT TO GET ATACKED BY 300 LBS DUDE OR A 15O LBS DUDE ABOUT TO GET ATACKED BY A 300 LBS DUDE WEILDING A KNIFE. ID FO WHt ever I v Could to survive. I don't want to zvtuLy fight.
If you are sparring no but practice soft in a street fight yes do it hard
agreed! Def don't do this hard in sparring!

I used this in a street fight with an unknown assailant when he had his knee straight and it was an instant stop
Sounds like you chose an appropriate screen name!
How to defend from this kick?
So is the knee kick cool in your books or is it a cheap shot?

First Strike Athletics legit af💪
If a man is trying to kock your head off your shoulders anything is cool. Especially in a street fight

+Josh Jackson I never even thought of attacks to the foot with this. Very creative!!
@@FirstStrikeAthletics Thank you sir:) A little nugget to add to the arsenal:)
@@FirstStrikeAthletics Happens in boxing all the time, it's cheating though, (in boxing)
i love them..all is fair
👍👍
Tahnk you sir!
Bodyboarding Chronicles you’re very welcome as always!
@@FirstStrikeAthletics Your transitioning from long middle to close is great.
Is there a drill to train?
Your supposed to pivot the non kicking foot for power
Typically for round kicks I’d agree. For more linear kicks I prefer a flat foot, with some notable exceptions.

@@vii-k4l u get more power opening ur hips though
@@alzogalsen sure but it doesn’t take much to make a knee go backwards lol
Yay
