      its not the first time it has been done like that. The old Detroit 2 stroke diesels had a gear driven super charger, driven off the crankshaft internally.

      Legit there is no other way to run the supercharger.... If you try to do it through the stator cover oil will come out

      @@tebibyte2357 Superchargers can be ran off the crank with a custom stator cover. That's how its done on the rzr xp 1000 supercharger kits.

    Draw thru the charger with the carb, use a wideband to dial in the jets. Drill em if you need to. Low load pilot, main for boost fueling. Sand your needle as needed for med load.
    Timing, slot your pickup to skew your base timing as needed. 1 degree per pound is safe on pump gas
    Quick and dirty way to make it safe and rip

      A1 + agree for the draw thru the charger with the carb also helps with tightening the tolerances in the rotors on the compression cycle.

      I seen one of these on a kfx 700 had brute force 650i heads. Upgraded cam. Running alcohol I think and had a 750 demon carb on top of the supercharger

      @@punchabunchofbuttons214 yeah well the problem is that a modified engine producing significantly more power than stock WILL wear out faster, otherwise they would already come suped up from the factory. the only people I have seen modifying thier bike engines are stunters with thier groms because they cant just fit a bigger engine and there is no bike to replace the grom, and drag racers because they alredy have a litrebike and there is nothing more powerful to get.

    Remember when you put pressure on 1 cylinder you need a volume chamber between the pressure side and the intake so the pressure wont drop and rise and drop and rise and drop and rise
    With a chamber in the right size compared to your engine size it will run MUCH better and more smooth even its not optimal flow with a chamber

      Go on EBAY. It looks like its an AMR 500 or AMR 1000. I think. They are a couple hundred bucks and very common as they are an industrial charger out of China. Several models available. Search "supercharger".

      You can also look up Porsche or Volkswagen smog pump. I think thats the usual application for these. Probably find a good deal on used also.

      I agree but I do have questions like: Will the timing chain handle the load? My guess is yes but it will stretch and wear faster. Will it be a problem? Also does the inside of the cam have oil paths the shaft might block? Anyway this is going to be epic!

      look for Aisin AMR 500 supercharger. They flow 500cc's of air, AMR 500 supercharger on a 500cc engine would about double the power. You can get them new for like 225 dollars on amazon.

      @@Mainroad.Manjis101 yeah, they can make some serious power. A honda cb750 makes 70hp stock, with the AMR 500 on it, they rise to like 110hp, think that is at 10 psi.

    Im glad you finally mentioned that cam shafts spin at half the rpm of the crankshaft. You need decent rpm at the screws to build boost. Its always a game of finding pulley diameter as too small and it wont have enough belt wrap to grip. Nice work!

    I've been watching you guys for awhile an have been blow away on how you two took my similar idea in a different direction I didn't think was possible to do in such a tiny chassis. I have all ways wanted to build a small vehicle like a half or bigger scale size truck out of my 2005 honda ex400 mostly due to the fact that it has a reverse gear and that i still own/operate it to this day, but wanting to make it all-wheel drive chain driven with the engine in the front just like you guys did. I've had this idea since I was 20 but never having a place to perform that custom build, hopefully one day you guys will be watching a video of mine building my custom mini off roader. Keep up the great work you guys, can't wait to see her supercharged.

    My first thought, the cam runs half speed. That little pulley is going to do nothing. Almost commented. Then you said exactly what I was thinking. You may still need a bigger pulley yet since it’s probably designed to run off that size crank pulley running at normal engine RPM. We will see I guess.

      If all else fails... He can rig up a jack shaft and have a lot more options with pulleys and get it dialed in.

      @@elijahherman Exactly my thoughts too. Bigger pulley on the engine, smaller on the blower. Gotta make sure that the blower pulley isn't too small though. Believe those superchargers will self destruct over 12,000 rpm.

    Twice the diameter doesn't mean twice the boost, it's circumference that is the critical component. Doubling the diameter more than triples the boost.

      C = pi*D = **pi**
      So D*2 gets you
      C = pi*2*D = **2*pi**
      If D is doubled so does C

      Worse yet it will put more work into the air and raise the temp as well as lose efficiency. You will make less boost/circumference

    Takes time to build precise cam shaft extension, props valve cover on tire to drill out with a step bit and hand drill... GRIND HARD!!!!

    I hope you guys see this. I would up grade the timing chain tensioner if you haven't already. That's alot of extra stress on the timing drive. Sick build!
