Bought this as the last piece for tomorrows build.....your feature breakdowns are much nicer than reading my manual.....you don't realize how big it is, until you pull it out of the box...and its still just as big....good vid
I recently bought this case, and my solution to the issue of front air being immediately pulled out via the side radiator is to mount bottom intake fans. Fresh cool air on the CPU cooler, and fresh cool air on the GPU. Love this case by the way.
I got mine last week and picking it up this week. One question though... I got the nzxt kraken x63 cooler with 2 fans to put on top. So the 2 intake fans in front will draw in cool air. The 2 fans on top will push hot air going through the cooler. What about the fan in the back? is it pushing in or taking out air?
@@elishmuel1976 Im only getting a one blue led from the back fan and the two on front are not lighting up at all. Reset switch appears to do nothing. What may be the culprit?
I bought this case about 2years ago.. I really like it. But I mostly watched this video to see how to disassemble and clean the front glass panel. Which im very greatful this covered.
I just bought this case I don't think it's too big! Sure it's certainly wide, but looking at even what's considered a 'mid' case, this is only about 50mm Taller, only about 15-20mm deeper. It's really the width that's most significant at about 80-90mm wider. So if you've got a wider desk the size isn't really too much of an issue. Or like myself, even putting on the floor is certainly an option. I'm actually not a fan of how tall some full cases can be, and can make your monitors look even smaller. So I quite like the more squarer look. I'm certainly not a rich person, so my rig is going to be quite moderate. But it looks great even without crazy cooling systems! :-)
I'm in agreement with you Mike, that case without fans included & priced at around £100 - £110 would be perfect. The limitations of the fan controller would prevent me from buying this case as is. And the case looks great even without the fans.
Just bought the white version, looking forward to seeing how it looks once built. I have bought 3x more fans and 3x strips to make it visible from space haha
I have had this case for months and just now learned about the lights button. I was having a problem with only 1 light working and this fixed the problem. I have discovered Aura (Armoury Crate) is not the best program for these lights.
I'm super happy with this purchase, I've yet to go water cooled and added some bottom 120mm intake and two 200 mm exhaust out the top. Stays cool and has plenty of airflow. Oh and you can add one single fan to that controller. It's the one weak point of the case.
I personally love the case. I've had it since it's launch and have a full setup of RGB fans. If I could add a picture I'd show it off. I will eventually put in a full custom loop but for now, I have 4 200mm favs and a total of 10 120mm fans and a single 360mm AIO. The whole case stays nice and cool with the arrangement having 2 of the 200mm as front intake, 3 120mm on the bottom as intake, 6 120mm in push/pull around the 360mm AIO radiator directing exhaust from the side, and lastly 2 200mm and 1 120mm at the top and rear of the case also as exhaust. This is promoting a nice even positive airflow for my 2080ti and Ryzen 3950X which are coupled with 64GB of RAM on the ASUS Crosshair VIII. Having the fans face the way I do allows for fresh outside air to flow straight through the AIO to cool the CPU and because the fans I'm using are PWM all around I can run the intakes at full and the exhausts to run slower thus pushing plenty of air of the entire motherboard. The case may be HUGE but it really works well for airflow.
@@EnlightenedBitFox For which fans? The fans that come included with the case can only be connected to the fan hub which is attached to the case as part of the frame. The included fans are actually 4-pin if I remember correctly and now because they are PWM (because they aren't) The fans I use in addition to those included are the TT 120 Riing Quads and Riing 200 Trio fans which all use the TT standard 5 port 9 pin controllers.
Great review Mike, The best view 51 review that I have seen; one thing thou - you forgot to mention the lack of dust filters for the top and front (I didnt notice these at first when I started to investigate this case too) - but I think this could be a problem. I really like this review how you went over ... Everything. From the size, to the fans and their colors to all the ins and outs of the case. Again really Great review, pretty much answered all my questions. As far as what Id spend for a case - to be honest depends on if I like it.
@@mikesunboxing Oh ... so you can place the 2 filters that are on the side (non windowed) at the top and front ... Good to know. I have more thinking to do then ...(trying to narrow down a case for me to replace my 450d corsair)
Getting ready to purchase some parts from Microcenter and this case is one that caught my eye, mainly due to the ginormous fans in the front and also the cavernous inside. I plan on putting a 4090 in this so airflow was not something to compromise. I am so happy to hear you say airflow through the front was not a concern given some reviews I came across for this product. I think you put my mind at ease so thanks for that.
I personally love the aesthetics of this case, and will be getting it for my next build this august. I am actually planning on making it a blacked out build, so little to no RGB for me, and I will swap the 200mm fans for Noctua A20 Chromax fans, and I will also be water cooling, so a 400mm rad by alphacool (the 87mm thick one), itll be a fun build.
Hey Mike, now you're speaking my language! Sweet case, even though it's still a bit small. My Level 20 HT is 613 x 468 x 503 mm (24.13 x 18.43 x 19.8 inch). Another thing I like about the Level 20 HT is the motherboard is turned 90 degrees clockwise, with the I/O at the top. The PSU is also mounted at the top which I like, in the rare case of the water cooling developing a leak. I love double chambered cases and more cases are going that way, like this View 51 TG, my Level 20 HT, and the Lian Li 011 Dynamic family. As for the extra long front panel cables, I always cut them off because I never use them. In regards to price, I have no problem paying up to $350 for a good case. My Level 20 HT was $227 with taxes.
11:00 are there any cases where there are no slots for SSDs? motherboards now have M.2 SSD support. the B550 Aorus has 3 M.2 slots, if i had one i wouldnt bother with 2.5" SSD drives. I think if they can fit a PSU where the SSD bay is, with the fan facing upwards and having the top part of the case be where air escapes, it would help reduce temperatures inside the case. Cooler Master SL600M is the closest thing to that, but the PSU fan cant face upwards, its facing the actual casing which is strange.
Thx Mike gr8 review, Really like the case & agree about the fans & lack of ssd slots for a case that size ? :( " I guess the Brains Trust had the day off ". But I still really want it ! :) thinking of using it for my first pc build. Can i take out the Thermaltake RGB Fan controller & replace it with a after market Gigabyte one ? would the pin connects be the same ?
not true about the limited space for hard drives though, you have entire area infront of your power supply to custom mount anything you want really, and with hose access slits next to the motherboard can easily maneuver SATA cables and power from that side into all that free space, this box comes with cable ties as well if I'm not mistaken but that could have been the EVGA 850 GQ power supply those came with. If you're not going for a highly overclocked build with as much air flow as these have and a proper cpu fan will never have to get water cooling. I used an Ultra Gladiator tower for years that was purely fan cooled and had very good air flow and always stayed cool, the only downside is dust build up, so don't feel intimidated by the water-cooling features or pressure to have it as in todays average user and non hobbyists, fan cooling is all you need, I purchased this case for the potential to upgrade further but mostly for the space to do so or to work on because there is nothing less satisfying than building a pc that you have no room to work in and this one has tons to spare.
I recently found this on sale on Amazon, but bought the white version of this case. Mostly like it, but OMG, besides the size, the weight is NUTS. Guessing easy 50lbs built out, seriously. RGB-LED has proven to be a challenge. The built in hub is pretty lame.
That thing is a monster! In my opinion, you would need a specific use case for it. 2x200mm fans in the front and 1x120mm fan in the rear? That is some positive case pressure. Thanks for another great review, Mike!
Doesn't have dust filters, window is in the middle of air sucking - blocking the cold air inflow, which is quite important. It makes sense, that multiple gpu's or devices will suck in more cold air when they are placed vertically then horizontally - drawback it takes huge space. Less stress for pcie slot, to hold big heavy cards. Still interesting design choice, I would personally remove the glass in front, maybe even consider to remove the glass on side, but not necessarily, if it's already sucking hot air out good. But if it, didn't have front vents, than I would remove side of the case, or if you have 1 single card, than it would be even colder if side case is opened, due to more airflow, but when they are stacked like sardines, only closed case to cool them off, or even water cool them. Consider even getting some kind of dust filter in front, or it will become a vacuum cleaner, with all the dust inside. This case can fit 2 big cards (3 pcie slots) 1 medium card (2 pcie slots)? Price bites, but if you are looking for esthetics, maybe it should be worth it. But I would prefer more a mouse, than an elephant, to save space, that you live in. Still though I would not complain if I had one of those. Great case.
Just slap a carbon charcoal filter into the front and look at that big case as a fancy Air Purifier :) I'm actually surprised Case Manufacturers havent went down this road. If youre going to have a big powerful box with a 750W-1200W PSU and 9-18 fans blowing inside why not make it an air purifier as well? Just need more powerful fans.. Probably Static Pressure will be the only fans that can withstand blowing air through a HEPA Filter and still provide air for the case to cool.
08:20 Thermaltake loves to make nearly perfect cases but leave out things that only makes you wonder why in the heck did they leave that out? Its for profits. They had enough space to add in a second 2x drive cage for a total of four 3.5" drives but chose not to. The O11D XL did this and it flew off the shelves. Why did Thermaltake do this on this case (AND EVERY OTHER CASE THEY MADE) because they know if they build that perfect large case we will never need another case again. So they always purposely leave out features that they KNOW we want. I know they know because MANY of us sent them emails complaining why they didnt add this and do that with this and that case... Why didnt they just make this case an inch longer so we can add 480 radiators etc.. So they know what we want and it wouldnt be hard for them to combine everything we want in that one large case. Like take the Level 20 XT for example.. We complained we wanted more than 2 or 4 drive storage.. so if you want more drive storage you HAVE to buy that big awful case to get the 6 drive cage. BUT now youre stuck with a case that mounts your mobo horizontally. Not a bad idea but some of us may not want that. Look at the Core x71.. they couldve easily added a second 3x drive cage to that and a second mount for it in the lower pedestal. But they didnt. And you cant buy the drive cages separately to add it in yourself. Look at their P5 and P8 cases. If you want a nice flashy case where your PSU isnt hidden behind a shroud those are the two cases to look at.. Yet they have like no storage options for drives. View 71.. PSU isnt hidden but only one 3x3.5" drive cage and if you use it you can have radiators in that part of the case. Thermaltake likes to make some of their cases to be either you get drive storage or you get radiator support but not both. They couldve easily added a separate storage compartment liket his case has onto their view71, P5, and P8 cases to have storage for 4-8 hard drives to make truly awesome cases for guys who actually use their PC to do work and need drive storage. But they chose not to. Lian Li 011D XL showed us it can be done, Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 showed us it can be done with tower cases.. This case the View 51 couldve been a truly great case that flew off the shelves since its pretty much a lian li 011D BUT allows 200mm fans.. if they added that extra compartment for drive storage and like you said.. wouldve been better if they were hot swap trays like the Lian Li 011D XL offers. Even Corsair with the 680X created a nice thick side comparment for their PSU and drives offering storage for 3x 3.5" drives and 4x 2.5" drives. Thermaltake sees these other cases and yet wont make us a case that offers 200mm fans, placement for 3 radiators, 6x 3.5" drive trays and at least 2 to 4x 2.5" drive mounts, and allow the PSU to be placed in two locations in the case; one tucked away(behind a panel or shroud for those users who hate seeing the PSU) and one in the showcase to be displayed (without interfering with the bottom radiator) for those of us who want to see the PSU. The Phantek Enthoo Pro 2 offers this case minus the 200mm fans. Only thing about that case is the drive storage is up in the "show room" next to the PSU shroud (where the PSU should be sitting by default **but can sit there as well since the Enthoo Pro 2 was designed to be a 2-system case) and takes up almost quarter of the space of the bottom radiator. Like damn it Thermaltake stop making these cases to be halfway decent, and just make that one great case that gives us everything we need. You know many users have RAID setups, and you know we game. So we have good PSUs. and hot running video cards.. so we need the liquid cooling. If 200mm fans exist then we should have that option to use them. If PSU now come with RGB and have video screens on them then we should be able to display them. Thermaltake stop thinking about profits for one minute and just make us THAT case that can do it all already. You can sell it each year in a different color for all we care and we will continue to buy it. It doesnt have to be a monster. It can be 2 square inches larger than the Lian Li O11D XL. So picture the O11D XL extended like 50mm in each direction. Just long enough to fit 480 radiators on the top and bottom. Wide enough to to squeeze in the PSU behind the bottom radiator, tall enough to fit a 480 radiator or tall enough to squeeze in the PSU just above the bottom radiator like the Thermaltake P8 does with its support bracket. They can literally just slap this storage case on the back of the P8 and add 2 more 2x drive cages or even 3 and watch the money pour in.
@@mikesunboxing I think by the time any Case Manufacturer designs that powerhouse case and still keep it affordable our hardware will be much smaller and we will all be using Micro Cases. By that time SSDs will become so cheap that 3.5" will be obsolete. Theyre already trying to push us into using just M.2 and SSD which isnt that idea since PCIx M2 steals bandwidth away from the corresponding PCIe lane which most likely with have a second GPU sitting in it.
I have mounted 5 SSD drives on their sides on the bottom.. and 2 NVME2 drives on the Hero XI MOBO.. with 360 Rad vertically on the side wall.. with the fans on exhaust, and yes I know in then out.. with air from the front.. but I have done a test is Smoke from a smoke stick.. and I have air flow going in all over the case up from the bottom in through the top, in from the rear right side and out through the front of the right side.. as I ran a all my cables down the middle of the right side of the case it makes for a pretty good divider, and the 1200watt PSU gets great airflow.. and stays very cool, I'm sitting on mobo 34'c in and ambient 24'c underload.. GPU45'c CPU 38'c (All closed loop Cooling) so for a gamer I'm very happy.. I also do video editing.. thus the storage. ME I'm a happy camper To anwser old mate asking how much space between MOBO and Glass Roughly 200mm or 7.5 inch
Got an antec P120 with a full custom loop and would have loved this for the extra room but agree for the price the fans need to be PWM and the RGB controller needs upgrade options, or drop the price and remove the fans
What if you mounted a rad behind the front fans? Wouldn’t the side fans be able to pull the warm exhaust air directly out of the case? You could then mount fans on the bottom pulling in, with centre logos swapped so it’s still half decent looking, and fans mounted at the top and the one on the rear exhausting warm air as it rises over the motherboard.
I bought one of these case in white and a used one to take out the 200mm fans from it to use it on top but it doesn't have connection for it the hub doesn't have enough ports to accommodate them...what can I do since fans only come as a 6 pin connection....
Hey, Mike & Kath! nice review. It's really huge! Shame about the lack of HDD's compartments (My TT Versa N25 has 3 bays for 2,5/3,5 HDD's, 2 5,1/4 ODD's bays, a 2,5 frontal bay and the rear one for a 2,5 unit). The Gamemax F15M wins the race for the mesh and size (LOL). I don't know, I think too much TG makes it keep very hot, maybe the 2 200 mm fans make the job right. PS: 4 dislikes? What is that people thinking about?
Hi Mike, just bought this case brand new for a really low price, and your overview, which I just watched, is great. I didn't know that this case was released over 2 years ago, and I am worried about the included RGB fans. Can you explain how I can test these fans before beginning the build, it would be devastating to get it all built only to find out that they don't work. I'd have to take it all apart and return the case. Being able to test these fans first would be a great help. I know I'm really late to the party on this one, but any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

@@mikesunboxing It is that the front fans have a very poor flow and in some pages I have read that they are PWM and in others they say that they are DC at 600 RPM
Looking to replace my ATX case for something bigger (to many cables and hdd’s 😉.) The Phanteks P600S and Corsair 680X cought my eye, but this one looks interesting and it’s bigger... a lot bigger 👍
Ι like this design cause it is spacious for a change! Maybe unideal for water cooling. I don't know. I am always doing air cooling anyway. Yes it could have more SSD and HDD spaces but it's ok i guess. Perhaps one could even flip the box to the side and have the PSU under and the glass up and this way the heavy video card would rest verticaly. Ok it will probably need some standoffs so that the PSU is not suffocated for air.
Hi Mike. Considering this as an option for a case, but can't seem to work out the why of the magnetic and bottom filters? If the large front fans draw unfiltered air in, and all the gaps everywhere not filtering anything, is there even a point to having the filters installed? Seems to me they'd filter air leaving the case more than entering, and no air entering the case gets filtered anyway, which kinda defeats the point in my mind. You touched on this too, so felt better it wasn't just me being stupid. Would you bother with the filters at all? And are filters really necessary anyways in a build?
And if you want a taller house, home to live in, Skyscraper Home - Enthoo Elite Deluxe Super Tower Luxury home is for You !!! LOL On a serious note, if Thermaltake would make the View Series interchangeable front Glass for Mesh, then we wouldn't be limited to their Commander range with Mesh front for those 200mm fans goodness.
3:25 I can't remove the glass door from the case. I can open it just fine, but when I try to lift it, the whole case is going up, which is crazy considering how heavy it is. I'm afraid I'll break it if I force more.
@@mikesunboxing I actually have another question.. I plugged in the cable (E?) for RGB into the motherboard 5v header and the other end into the controller where it says M/B IN. However, when i switch the case to Mobo control mode, only a few leds light up in 1 of the 2 200mm fans. I took out their 120mm. Im really confused. Also got no idea what the bottom LED OUT connector is for on the controller.
i think for me the lianli is the one i would go for as it is a base and you can do what you want with it, the View 51 is sort of semi finished in terms of the fans installed and the fan hub, so it limits your build if those components will need to be swapped out
After using this case for as long as this video has been out, i will say that its a beautiful case and its definitely served its purpose i use to recommend this case to everyone, but after 4-5 years the glass panels unglued from top and front side. And the airflow isn't the best even with the extra fans air comes out great but i really have a feeling that the front fans arent doing much even though they are huge. I will also say the fact that this case has a seperate RGB header that doesnt work with most fans is also terrible because my motherboard never had RGB functionality and the case doesnt either other then that basic button... So my thoughts are It wasnt worth the 200 for its time compared to the cases now that are way cheaper. I dont know what it retails at or anything like that.. I will say that this case has gotten me a ton of compliments and was easy to work inside of before the glass falling off. Upgrading later this year for the first time in a long time and my eyes are set on the Montech King 95 Pro White edition.
Great review Mike! Not a big fan of this personally, think there are better high end cases to show off your components. Saying that, this should be perfect for my new ITX board and low profile GT1030....🙄😂
@@TacitusKillgore1 if you are referring to Lian Li 011, then it was never designed for airflow but for water cooler, as it was in collaboration with a water cooler fanatic Der Bauer. There is however an lain li 011 air, but from that ONE review i saw, they stated wasnt good with airflow nonetheless, do note, it was just one review i saw on the air version. The XL for both should be good, as you are now able to mount a 120mm fan at the back which in the none xl version u cant. a 80 mm forcing it perhaps. but nonetheless, for water cooling the lian li 011 dynamic is more than good enough but still going for this thermal take as well, love this model a lot more. especially the sleek power button design :D

Bought the case couple days ago and honestly, I don't really like it for 3 things; This case is huge but alot of space is wasted. Second; extremely heavy because of the thick glass. Third; air flow is terrible, front and top glasses are blocking the fresh air way too much and front fans has low rpm. Great video anyways 👍

@@ooozturk9195 I wonder what the airflow would be like with higher RPM fans.. most people ditch the fans that come with cases because 9 out of 10 time theyre inferior fans and not the manufacturers best fans. The wasted space really annoys me.. I noticed Thermaltake likes to waste what couldve been great space for a second drive cage in some of their cages. I swear the designers or the bosses that run the design department are either a-holes that they wont let the designers add in more drive space or idiots that they havent even considered it or have considered it but decided to leave out that second cage to increase profits because you know that second cage cost like what .20 cents in injection molded plastic? It's funny that Thermaltake hosts a 3D Printer forum for people who had to 3D Print parts to add to their cases because Thermaltake was too cheap to make the parts themselves and sell them separately. So people without 3D Printers cant get the parts unless they pay someone with a 3D Printer to print them for them. I need a case for 4-8 drives.. and the only case that offers that with proper water cooling is the basic looking Level 20 XT. I'm starting to think I should forget about finding a case that can hold that many drives so I can find a case better looking than the Level 20 XT and just print a 8x drive cage. It would be nice to have a case that houses them though.. like the 011D XL.. which only can hold 4 drives in hot swap bays. 6 wouldve been better. 8 wouldve been perfect.

I got mine last week and picking it up this week. One question though... I got the nzxt kraken x63 cooler with 2 fans to put on top. So the 2 intake fans in front will draw in cool air. The 2 fans on top will push hot air going through the cooler. What about the fan in the back? is it pushing in or taking out air?
michael eli normally the fan in the back is exhaust fan pushing hot air out.
Glad it helped
hope you enjoy it, i still think it is a great case with many options for builders
@@mikesunboxing Thanks! Your review certainly helped in making the decision! :-)
I'm in agreement with you Mike, that case without fans included & priced at around £100 - £110 would be perfect. The limitations of the fan controller would prevent me from buying this case as is. And the case looks great even without the fans.
thanks Gary, i am hopeful that they might offer it without the extras but i think it is extremely unlikely
Thanks for putting this video together! I couldn't figure out how to clean the glass in the front until I watched this video lol.
Glad I could help!
I just got this case delivered 08/07/2020 and am looking forward to building in it. Thank you for the video. Thumbs up. You got a new subscriber.
Hope you enjoy it!
much appreciated for the explaination of the fan hub at the begining of the vid, this saved my ass
Glad it helped :-)
Just bought the white version, looking forward to seeing how it looks once built. I have bought 3x more fans and 3x strips to make it visible from space haha
that should be a very bright and cool looking rig
This might just be the case I’m looking to have fun filling up. Thank you for the review!
Hope you enjoy it!
I have had this case for months and just now learned about the lights button. I was having a problem with only 1 light working and this fixed the problem. I have discovered Aura (Armoury Crate) is not the best program for these lights.
open rgb might be worth a look also
I'm super happy with this purchase, I've yet to go water cooled and added some bottom 120mm intake and two 200 mm exhaust out the top. Stays cool and has plenty of airflow. Oh and you can add one single fan to that controller. It's the one weak point of the case.
Very nice!
The case may be HUGE but it really works well for airflow.
would love to see the setup, so feel free to join our Discord chat discord.gg/gaeeDPw
Short question about the included fans: which connector typ do they have, the regular tt 9 pin ?
@@EnlightenedBitFox For which fans? The fans that come included with the case can only be connected to the fan hub which is attached to the case as part of the frame. The included fans are actually 4-pin if I remember correctly and now because they are PWM (because they aren't) The fans I use in addition to those included are the TT 120 Riing Quads and Riing 200 Trio fans which all use the TT standard 5 port 9 pin controllers.
@@ccwattitude i mean the 2x 200mm and 1x 120mm fans which was included to the case. So it is not possible to control the speed via pwm, right?
@@EnlightenedBitFox Correct, you can connect the ARGB to the MoBo for color sync but the fans are static. The power is only connected to PSU.
I found that you can use the magnetic filters for the rear as options for the front and top if needed
Maybe check out the ceres 500
I personally love the aesthetics of this case, and will be getting it for my next build this august. I am actually planning on making it a blacked out build, so little to no RGB for me, and I will swap the 200mm fans for Noctua A20 Chromax fans, and I will also be water cooling, so a 400mm rad by alphacool (the 87mm thick one), itll be a fun build.
Sounds great - share the pics of it when finished on our Discord :-)
Do you have pics of this online or a video of it? Would love to see that monster "Monsta" radiator on it.
Saw a few on Amazon 28% off that puts it in a great price range. I have one coming in just 2 days.
nice!
My Level 20 HT was $227 with taxes.
glad you liked it, the level 20 ht sounds like a beast!

Cooler Master SL600M is the closest thing to that, but the PSU fan cant face upwards, its facing the actual casing which is strange.
not that i know of but interesting if that ever becomes the norm
Thx Mike gr8 review, Really like the case & agree about the fans & lack of ssd slots for a case that size ? :( " I guess the Brains Trust had the day off ". But I still really want it ! :) thinking of using it for my first pc build. Can i take out the Thermaltake RGB Fan controller & replace it with a after market Gigabyte one ? would the pin connects be the same ?
not the pins will be different layout , you could in theory re do the cabling yourself if you are handy with a solder iron
not true about the limited space for hard drives though, you have entire area infront of your power supply to custom mount anything you want really, and with hose access slits next to the motherboard can easily maneuver SATA cables and power from that side into all that free space, this box comes with cable ties as well if I'm not mistaken but that could have been the EVGA 850 GQ power supply those came with.
Can I remove the bars behind the big 200mm fans to make it look like lian Li pc o11d
i guess so if you are handy with the tools
It’s very easy to add fans and syncs them to the MB. Including the ones that are preinstslled
yes it is, more people should do it
I recently found this on sale on Amazon, but bought the white version of this case. Mostly like it, but OMG, besides the size, the weight is NUTS. Guessing easy 50lbs built out, seriously. RGB-LED has proven to be a challenge. The built in hub is pretty lame.
Yeah the hub is too basic really for this case
That thing is a monster! In my opinion, you would need a specific use case for it. 2x200mm fans in the front and 1x120mm fan in the rear? That is some positive case pressure. Thanks for another great review, Mike!
Thanks sky! Yes this is quite a niche case probably something oletta would appreciate
Great case.
all valid points there
Just slap a carbon charcoal filter into the front and look at that big case as a fancy Air Purifier :) I'm actually surprised Case Manufacturers havent went down this road. If youre going to have a big powerful box with a 750W-1200W PSU and 9-18 fans blowing inside why not make it an air purifier as well? Just need more powerful fans.. Probably Static Pressure will be the only fans that can withstand blowing air through a HEPA Filter and still provide air for the case to cool.
wow dude you look like The Mummy 1999. Nice break down of the case. I was considering the Lian Li Dynamic XL but I think I'm more sold on this case.
I get told that a lot! Thanks for watching :-)
Thanks man, much appreciated I like it alot, just wonder if I will need a bigger mobo!!!
Thanks for watching :-)
Get atleast an atx mb
Im confused… on their website they specify it can house eatx boards. Why don’t I see the stand-off locations for such a board??
EATX uses the same standoffs as ATX but there is a larger overhang although this might differ on some boards as EATX is not a defacto standard
They can literally just slap this storage case on the back of the P8 and add 2 more 2x drive cages or even 3 and watch the money pour in.
well said
@@mikesunboxing I think by the time any Case Manufacturer designs that powerhouse case and still keep it affordable our hardware will be much smaller and we will all be using Micro Cases.

Best damn review of a case i've seen in a long time! thank you
Awesome! Thanks for watching
bless you terry that is very kind of you to say. Any other cases you would like to see reviewed?
What if you mounted a rad behind the front fans? Wouldn’t the side fans be able to pull the warm exhaust air directly out of the case? You could then mount fans on the bottom pulling in, with centre logos swapped so it’s still half decent looking, and fans mounted at the top and the one on the rear exhausting warm air as it rises over the motherboard.
that might work, in theory it might
I bought one of these case in white and a used one to take out the 200mm fans from it to use it on top but it doesn't have connection for it the hub doesn't have enough ports to accommodate them...what can I do since fans only come as a 6 pin connection....
yeah the hub for me is a real shame
Hey, Mike & Kath! nice review. It's really huge! Shame about the lack of HDD's compartments (My TT Versa N25 has 3 bays for 2,5/3,5 HDD's, 2 5,1/4 ODD's bays, a 2,5 frontal bay and the rear one for a 2,5 unit). The Gamemax F15M wins the race for the mesh and size (LOL). I don't know, I think too much TG makes it keep very hot, maybe the 2 200 mm fans make the job right. PS: 4 dislikes? What is that people thinking about?
the funny thing is a can pretty much put names the dislikes :-) it is a funny old world.

Too big! £100 is about my limit. I ended up getting the Gamemax F15 (Glass) after seeing your review, that's a great case for the money.
i agree the Gamemax is about half the price and almost half the size
Ι like this design cause it is spacious for a change! Maybe unideal for water cooling. I don't know. I am always doing air cooling anyway. Yes it could have more SSD and HDD spaces but it's ok i guess. Perhaps one could even flip the box to the side and have the PSU under and the glass up and this way the heavy video card would rest verticaly. Ok it will probably need some standoffs so that the PSU is not suffocated for air.
Good point!
And are filters really necessary anyways in a build?
i would not use the filters it does seem pretty pointless

Also got no idea what the bottom LED OUT connector is for on the controller.
What should I buy Lian Li o11D for $120 of this for $145
i think for me the lianli is the one i would go for as it is a base and you can do what you want with it, the View 51 is sort of semi finished in terms of the fans installed and the fan hub, so it limits your build if those components will need to be swapped out
After using this case for as long as this video has been out, i will say that its a beautiful case and its definitely served its purpose i use to recommend this case to everyone, but after 4-5 years the glass panels unglued from top and front side.
So my thoughts are
It wasnt worth the 200 for its time compared to the cases now that are way cheaper. I dont know what it retails at or anything like that.. I will say that this case has gotten me a ton of compliments and was easy to work inside of before the glass falling off.

@@ooozturk9195 That's a shame, and thank you and will do!
@@vertigo6982 as a professional data storage engineer, I would not recommend you to buy this case since it will be extremely heavy and gona have issues with the cooling. I would recommend you check with purpose build nas cases and definetly consider splitting your storage ( with the highest capacity hdds) and the computer. That will help you out with the electricity bills since you may need to have your storage computer running on 7/24.
Good review and clear video, thumbs up.
Thanks! 👍
So to clarify one cannot add any more fans to this such as fans on the bottom below the gpu because the rgb fan controller comes full already?
yes pretty much
How did you get the fans powered? Bought it today with a new ASUS TUF mobo and I can't seem to find a way to connect the fans
the fans connect to the hub and the hub gets power from the sata connection on the psu
Will a 420 mm AIO accomodate inside this thermaltake view 51 cabinet
no sorry 360 max from the listing on their website
Sir but in their website it is mentioned that 140mm *3 fans that is 420mm space for fans is available on topside of the case .Then why cant I mount a 420mm radiator on this available space @@mikesunboxing
Another query: will an EATX motherboard accomodate inside this cabinet
I bought that one but when I connect it to my mainboard and let lumination control by mainboard only the lower one on the front is illumated. Any ideas?

So I think the section facing towards the side panel that you mentioned is for a distro plate for watercooling :)
That would be sweet
I'm looking at getting this case and would want to put an AIO GPU rad as exhaust in the top. With the glass top panel, would there be enough airflow to work properly?
yes it should be fine there is a bit of a gap to let air out
I have the case, I'd recommend putting your aio on the side next to the motherboard. It has plenty of space behind the radiator with filters on the backside panel.
Got one of these arriving this morning.
hope you enjoy it
@@mikesunboxing Was bought kindof at random, Agree the lack of proper fan controller is wrong although I guess a lot of people at its original price point have their own stuff to put in? Got the black one with the tinted glass. Looks pretty nice. Paired it with a Fractal 360 AIO a 7950X3D and a 4080.
@@jamesdegriz Nice 🙂
That's a CHUNKY BOI of a case. I like the look but it looks to have poor airflow and is a bit overpriced for what you get. Still a great review as always 👍
the airflow is actiuallyvery good and the front panel has no restrictions at all
@@mikesunboxing oh wow, wasn't expecting that. Can't judge a book by it's cover can u
Can I put it on my 20 and half inch desk, as far as length?
that might be a little small depending if there is also room behind?
@@mikesunboxing there is like 3 inches in the back and I’m going to nail an inch board to add more to the seat down would that be good?
Do you know if the Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 fits in this case? Cheers.
yes easily with room to spare
I know I'm late to the party, about to build a new pc, I have been looking for a new cube case to replace my carbide air 540, this looks to be a good fit, beautiful case overall. Hopefully I can find a new gpu to go in it, I live not too far from a Micro center, will see...
Good luck!
Can a 420mm rad be fit at the top or is that a no go?
better off asking @oletta for that
I'm looking to do a build in this case but due to money I have to buy one piece at a time so I was wondering if i could still use this case with my 10 year old build which the mother board only has old school 3pin fan headers so I wanted to make sure do I just need to provide the fan controller with sata power to have these fans work and then just not connect them to my motherboard at all?
you should be fine with this with the 3 pin headers
Can the Thermaltake controller be removed and jut use motherboard for own fan control?
no the fans have a custom plug i think
@@mikesunboxing so if I just strip those out with new ones Pwm it should be good to go then 🥳?
The included Fans, which connector typ are they? I assume the regular Tt 9Pin connector
sorry i can't remember but i did cover it in the video i think
@@mikesunboxing unfortunately not exactly
My front part keeps falling off it won't stay on i had to use tape. Any suggestions?
try contacting thermaltake and see if they can send you a replacement front
I also eight fans pink and I kept the fans the same maybe I'll swap them out
The front panel with 2x200mm fans and no dust filter ? It is a no go for me...
there is a bit of filtering done by the mesh but i get what you mean
can you fit a 420mm radiator on this case?
not sure sorry, never had a 420 to test with, might be worth reaching out to thermaltake on that one
Hi! I have a question, do I need like any small stuff to connect it to my monitor or I’ll just click on the button on the pc “start” or I just plug in it to my computer?
this is just a PC case you will need all the other parts to make it into a working pc
@@mikesunboxing okay thank you, what parts do I need?
@@OkOk-gk8so Depends what you want the PC to do for you
how about this box, against lian li o11 dynamic
the lianli is probably the case i would choose to be honest, as i prefer that look
that front glass.. if it had full mesh, was 100% buy for me
would be pretty sweet
@@mikesunboxing decided to buy it and remove the front glass. i ll attach myself a mesh to the 200mm fans, i ll cut the bottom to add 140mm fans too. this case would last 10 years for me, hope so.
@@azax2914 I'm curious how that turned for you because I was wondering if that would improve airflow although by all accounts it seems to be better than i expected even with the glass.
When I press the R button for the rgb modes nothing happens. Does anyone know why?
is the button connected to the controller hub, otherwise try pressing and holding it
@@mikesunboxing I have no idea where its connected. I had it custom made idk. Pressing and holding also doesn’t work. Im getting it checked bc the pc overall has some issues too. Thank you for your response tho. Great video thank you!!
Can I change colour from software?
Motherboard sync will work so yes
Ik this is irrelevant to the video but I recently bought the game max f15 and can’t get the rgb on the fans to work or change the speed. I have a power cable in it and the •led cable from front panel in it what am I doing wrong please help
The fans are spinning just no rgb and no control over the speed
are you using the remote control or motherboard bypass
@@mikesunboxing i fixed it. it was a shark rgb strip that i plugged into the hub stopped everything from working even though its 3 pin 5v
@@shanebecker588 hmm that is odd? but at least you got it sorted that is the main thing
Very nice case and review Mike :D
thanks doge! you like?
@@mikesunboxing yes it is a very nice case. :D
@@MatissMezals glad you liked it - hopefully get some more compact cases in soon
Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to glad to hear. Looking forward :)
Anyone using this chassis currently? I'm interested to buy it but I want to add 3 more fans on top.... so was wondering will I have trouble adding those 3 top RGB fans...? (probably will be of Corsair or thermaltake fans)
i had to send mine back it was a review sample :-(
3 fans will fit on top (on top or below removable plate) either centrally or offset to clear motherboard and with or without radiator.
Has anyone seen anyone swap the front fans with TT trio 200mm fans, yes call it a waste of money if you will, but if you’re set on using this case for a while I’d like to see how that works out and looks
i haven't seen it but hopefully someone else has
just did an i9 10900k with 2080ti and gigabyte aurous master mboard into this exact case i chose it simply because i didnt feel like being cramped build total cost was 5k aud
nice!

Can you review the Thermaltake S100?
i'll see if i can get one, any reason why you want to see it?
@@mikesunboxing it looks like a nice and cheap Define C Mini alternative
You know, I stop the decision to buy it, just found it doesn't have dust filters for top and front. How much dust these intakes accumulate over time god knows 😳
in drier dust places i would expect it to be a problem. I damp places like the UK dust isn't as much of a problem

yes a bit odd:?
excellent.. very neat & great review. :-)
Thank you kindly!
For that price you have an Antec P120 Chrystal and 7 Artic fans to populate it.
i'll take a look at that case. i didn't realise it was so cheap
@@mikesunboxing 87.13 GBP at X-Case, so leaves you 100 GBP for fans :D
Other option is the IonZ KZ09 at Amazon at 79.00 GBP (at sale for 69 GBP atm) but that case has a major drawback of a limited CPU cooler height of 135 mm, which is potentially an issue for beefy graphical cards
is it full tower case ??
technically it is a mid tower, but seems like a full tower
