I think a lot of people forget, that Eloise always has a saftey net to fall back on. Her family will always stand by her, even if she was ruined. So it is easy to talk for her because she never has to take any life-threatening risks. Penelope never had this so I totally get why she did what she did. If she is ruined, her life is basically over.

I can’t believe some of us are obsessing over the new ship that is footman john and eloise. And this is coming from someone who believed she was gay. They had 5 minutes of screen time together and had more chemistry than Theo and Eloise.

Totally agree. She is self-centered and treats Penelope as the chubby sidekick who only exists for her drama.
And it took 2 whole years of Lady Whistledown for Eloise to actually listen... not to mention the entirety of their friendship beforehand. That's a very long stint of being so self-absorbed that she couldn't be bothered to pay even the slightest bit of attention to her best if not ONLY friend.
YES! She’s self-centered and vain! She’s constantly belittling the people around her and uses Pen to make herself feel smart. But the second she finds out that Pen is Whistledown, she ditches her without giving her a chance to explain.
I have to imagine she was better in the years before we are introduced to the characters, because yes I totally agree.
I found out that Johnathan Bailey originally auditioned for the role of the Duke and got the role of Anthony.
You guys need to see 'Fellow Travelers'. Jonathan received a Critcs Choice award about 2 months ago for it. I went through a box of tissues for each episode. Matt Bomer did a great job, too.

Also regarding Kate and Edwina's switching accent, its very common for bilingual people to be a bit inconsistent in their pronounciation! Sometimes my (and my family's) English is perfect, othertimes its accented very heavily. It can also become more or less accented depending on the accent of the person you're talking to

I know it's not important, but I love the storytelling pay off of the palmal game and the description of how the siblings play and how they behave in story, especially the last episode. Daphne said "Colin is crafty and will strike when you least expect it," and that's how he handles Lord Featherington's scheme and exposing him. Eloise is described as "focusing on her brothers and hoping she forgets about you," and it's only after she chooses to not be preoccupied with Theo and Lady Whistledown anymore that she notices Pen's gossip and way of speaking that seems weirdly familiar. It's very basic, but I appreciate these small details.
I am requesting that at least one of you dress up as Bee Man 🐝 for Season 3. It would be epic. 😂

Honestly I maintain that Eloise clearly wasn’t a good friend to Pen because there is no way my best friend wouldn’t clock ASAP if A) I was whistledown B) loved her brother. She listened to Pen for once and clocked it
I love the idea of two people accidentally marrying each other thinking the other was gonna save them financially 😂😂 which does make sense with Jack since he made his money in America and so he would not be well known, but back then money was more transparent and so you could look up how much someone made a year from their estate or what not
The only reason I got into Bridgerton was because of you guys. I tried watching the first season once and I never made it past the second episode. Now, I’m counting the days for season 3.

My favorite underrated part about Season 2 is @6:09 where it sneaks how Daphne is giving the baton to Anthony as the season's lead, and then in a few seconds it pans to Penelope, one of the leads for s3. such a short moment yet major easter egg!

Idk if someone told y’all this already, but in the book, Anthony and Kate get caught when she is stung and are forced to get married, so Edwina’s anger is a lot more justified. I mean it’s justified in the show, but the extent makes a lot more sense.
I’m 40 and I’ve never been stung by a bee. I guess I could be allergic and not know.
I’m 32 and live in English countryside (The New Forest) and I’ve never been stung either.
Also Anaphylaxis reactions are more likely to happen on second exposure. So the father may have been stung once before, but only had a minor reaction.
As a person who must carry around 1-2 epi-pens with me, I can attest to fact you can become allergic to bees, hornets, wasps overtime if you are stung enough times. I used to not be allergic to them, but after being stung 20+ times, I need to carry an epi-pen bc depending on where I'm stung, my air/breath can be cut off within 20 mins. or less and HAVE to go to hospital immediately. I do enjoy your dark humor though with it and find myself laughing along with you both!! Looking forward to your Season 3 reactions!!

Kate don't want to be single because she don't want to find a man, she wants to be single because she thinks she has a duty to help marry her sister and she left her own life behind. And she says that she will be content because Lady Danbury is content with no man. But Lady Danbury is making sure she knows that she lived her life, open to love and happiness, and she's content only because of that.
It's not about needing a man, is about living her own life and not her sisters.

Ever since the first season I always thought that the Featheringtons (excluding Penelope and their dad) reminds me of cinderella's stepmom and stepsisters. They all have red hair, wear wild colors & patterns and the mom is always trying to marry her daughter's off. Plus, no offense, but the older two are kind of airheads like cinderella's step sisters. Also ever since it was revealed they were in debt in season 1 I started to like the mom because it seemed like she was concerned mainly for her daughter's.
I spent most of this season admiring Kate's outfits and jewelry combinations. Like I'm not a girly girl but she looked stunning in every dress. The gold jewelry just went so well with her golden skin and always matched her dresses perfectly.
Also, didn't know if you know this but the actor who plays Anthony is apparently super gay in real life.

So I watched Queen Charlotte before diving into Bridgerton and I theorize that in Season 3 Eloise & Violet are more alike than they are different. I can't see young Violet navigating those love match waters with ease considering how talkative & headstrong she was. Lady Ledger was the worst and probably found her to be a disappointment too...
Hopefully we get to see a prequel about it

Edwina was vile for the half-sister comment when she knows that Kate lost her own mother and then gave up most of her own life to raise Edwina. Plus Kate and Anthony never had bad intentions, however they both told Edwina (Kate told her more than once) that a marriage to Anthony wouldn’t be a love match only a match of duty and Edwina was okay with it. She’s too naive, and she’s too spoiled.
I disagree. Edwina was devastated. Her sister, her best friend fell in love with the man she wanted to marry. Although Kate and Anthony didn’t have ill intentions, they had an emotional affair while he was courting and engaged to Edwina. Of course she’s naive she’s like 16-18 years old.
I was on Edwina’s side until that “half-sister” comment. Kate is better than me cause Edwina would have been 💀 to me after that.

Hi not sure if you guys caught it but Pen didn’t post about Eloise and Theo. That absolutely would have ruined her, she posted that she was going to political rallies. It was the least scandalous thing she could have exposed about her. I also want to state that a main reason Pen didn’t tell Eloise was that from the very beginning of the season Eloise was saying she was sure she could convince Lady W to change and report on the things that interest Eloise. She made comments like “I know I could change her mind if I find out who she is” . She would have completely bulldozed Penelope and I think that was the biggest reason Pen didn’t want to tell her. This was the one thing that gave Pen purpose and freedom . Eloise also has shown she doesn’t really understand her privilege. The “not all of us can be pretty Bridgerton” from S1 and a few other things were supposed to highlight that. She wouldn’t be able to understand why Pen has the paper I don’t think.
