The question im getting most on this video recently is 'is that Trump in the thumbnail?!' To clarify, yes it is. I made 6 thumbnails prior & none were working. Frustrated, I scoured the internet for SOMETHING/ANYTHING & the Emperor Uriel Trump picture stopped me in my tracks. It's not a political diss or endorsement, just has a strange click appeal during my brief meme thumbnail endeavour's. Hope you enjoy the video as I put a lot of (serious) research about Skooma!
You are obviously trying to hide that he is the true supplier of all the skooma that is plaguing the empire! Don't let the black horse courier's lies fool you! The guards are in on it, as well....
Interesting to see how even scrapped quests have so much content carried into the released game. In fact, that it didn't become a quest made the game feel a lot more alive. Like, it's not there for the Hero of Kvatch to solve this problem, its just there, going on in the background and you can only see the tip of the iceberg.
There was so much they wanted to put in the game, but couldn't because of either time restraints or not enough data space on the game disc. I do wonder if anyone has made or tried to make mods that re-add in the lost and/or cut content.
The amount of cut content that remains in the game just makes the world feel so lively. From the goblin wars to the skooma trade, shit happens whether you notice it or not.
If Dagon really wanted to take over tamrial with the Mythic Dawn, he could have had them hustling dat Skooma would have brought down the empire in no time.
skooma can either be smoked or drunk if watered down. the khajiit traditionally smoke skooma in hookahs and skooma is perfectly legal in Elswyer and can be bought in almost any establishment. the khajiit have been using Skooma in moon rituals since the dawn of the Ja-Kha'jay. the Khajiit have been also using skooma to receive dream visions from June and Jode to guide them along the Ja-Kha'jay but it is warned that too much invites shegorath the skooma cat
It was an excellent video but to be fair Cantina made a really good one too. This one has more detail though especially about the Waterfront connection.
So, basically, the Skooma is shipped up from Elseweyr by the Marie Elena, to the Imperial Trading Company Warehouse at the Imperial City Waterfront, where Uzul gro-Grulam and Gelephor distribute it to the Orum Gang and Bravil, respectively. While Bribing other dock-workers like Vlanarius Kvinchal with Skooma. It is likely also given to Shady Sam, who sells it outside the walls of the Imperial City. Uzul gro-Grulam got into a relationship with Myvryna Arano to use her immunity as an Imperial Watch informant to store Skooma in a barrel outside her house. Oghash gra-Magul picks up the Skooma from the barrel, and then sells it to the Camonna Tong, who take it up to Morrowind. Gelephor takes his section to the Skooma Den in Bravil. Kylius Lonavo was likely part of a Leyawiin Branch of the organization, but was found out. The Orum gang use the Skooma and the money they make off of it to bribe wealthy aristocrats such as Voranil into being accepted into their ranks. I love it!
I'm randomly throwing that... might be totally wrong but... your vid just remembered me that weird character's name and I couldn't help but instinctively link his skooma business to Sanguine... which used the very same first name in Skyrim... are there any other NPCs with "sam" as a 1st name? idk but this one got my attention I'm sure many can grasp the "whys" and "hows".
There's another hint - the random rumour in Lewawijn that S'drassa is still looking for a cure for skooma addiction; but with no follow-up in dialogue (just that goddam Garridan's Tears quest).
That's what makes this game amazing! Every NPC has their own jobs, appointments, dutys, an "to do's" that changes from day to day. You can make up your own side quest in investigating their lives (or the skooma smugling and consuming) around Cyrodil. Amazing!
Yeah that is why I like oblivion more than Skyrim. in skyrim NPC never left the cities and in oblivion you sometimes find a npc on the road and sometimes you find the in other cities or even dead on their way back killed by monsters or bandits.

Great video! I love these cut questlines and small details. Hopefully in ES6 they expand on Skooma mechanics. I actually learned something new. For whatever reason I always thought the Camonna Tong were the ones importing it to cyrodiil, but as you showed they're actually exporting it. Never thought about the Marie Elena smuggling Skooma into the city! Maybe it comes from Elsweyr, up through Torpal Bay, then to the Niben and finally to the Waterfront?

@@DarkLOREDash funny story behind my username; I came up with it on a whim for my first D&D character when I was about 6 or 7. Oblivion had maybe just been released by then but I hadn't even played it yet and didn't actually notice Valen had the same last name as my character until I was 14 I think. Then Skyrim comes out, and there's a Dunmer bandit in one of the first side quests named "Arvel The Swift". Go figure, right?

Man I loved Oblivion, I got to play it modded on a really good PC in 2008 and got completely lost in it. Never managed to do the same with Skyrim. Somehow the characters here seem more alive..
Oblivion does the best job of fleshing out the npc's of all the Elder Scrolls by light years. And giving them colorful , quirky personalities too. Especially those crazy male Wood Elves both in Cyrodiil and the Shivering Isles. Is there a normal one in the whole lot, haha. Skyrim just felt dead in comparison.
I wish I could try Skooma one time. Or at least be able to get people addicted to Skooma in the game, like to put a little Skooma in their food for a week or two until they are addicted.
There is one further possibly relevant detail regarding the Orum Gang and Camonna Tong's dropsite outside Kingscrest Cavern. Lord Rugdumph's estate is *really* close to the drop-off site. The estate of an _Orcish_ Lord who blunders his every attempt at classy dialogue. Sure doesn't seem likely that an orc of such lacking etiquette (which hints at "lowborn" background) would earn a lordship and an estate and there's no active mine, natural resources or arable land within the estate's immediate vicinity. One would think there'd be better sites for a Lord to establish an estate in Cheydinhal County than the southern Jeralls. Now of course this is technically unconnected in-game and it's purely a theory of mine but it just feels a tad too fitting to be coincidence that there's a bumbling orcish lord (with a violent and wild daughter no less) nearby the final dead drop of a skooma ring and a Camonna Tong camp, in a County run by a Hlaalu affiliated puppet whom associates with the Orums as well. Orcs and Dunmer all around. Rugdumph's estate is on the mountain path to the Jeralls and Bruma too, and the land is indeed rather barren for a lordly estate so if one reaaaaaally wants to stretch: Rugdumph could be the next step in the skooma ring towards Bruma or somewhere. RIften maybe? And then Rugdumph has some positive relations to Burz Gro-Kash of the Fighter's Guid, yet another orc ruffian in Cheydinhal so go figure.
Thanks. This video caused me to subscribe. Loved it. I only know of you and Cantina that have ever made videos about the skooma trade in Oblivion. And I love this whole aspect to the game. Sad to think we missed a whole long story arc regards it that got cut. Anyway just want to say your video is much appreciated. Yours has more details about the Waterfront connections too. Also didn't know about the hollow rock near the 2 Camona Tong skooma couriers. (There is no raw Moon Sugar in Oblivion so maybe the Camona Tong are the ones that refine it into Skooma to distribute to the other provinces, hmmm). Also one small dealer in the skooma trade left out of this video was the Bravil dealer. From the uesp wiki: "Nordinor is a skooma dealer who lives at The Fair Deal in Bravil. He is also one of only two vendors who sell skooma in Cyrodiil, the other being Shady Sam. ..." As I recall he sells skooma every night after midnight between two of the shops in Bravil and always has a regenerated 5 bottle supply nightly. Just a fyi though you probably knew about him already. Again thanks. This video made me a subscriber. Keep up the good work!
I killed the Black Horse Carrier distributors. Why? The were very annoying and man its crazy I heard that guy "Get your Black Horse Carrier!" in this video and my right index finger instinctively started curling expecting an arrow to knock in my bow. I guess they wouldnt annoy me so much if I didnt spend so much time in the Market district drawing an arrow, opening my inventory, changing arrow types then going back to the game.

At first I thought those bottles you would see some NPCs take that it was a potion of some sort for a very long time.. But I did figure out the truth later on.. xd
I found it odd how the 2 outside the skooma den in Bravil always try and open the door even though it is always locked, I have never seen anything more than that since I always kill them for their Skooma before breaking down the Den's Door to Kill everyone inside for their Skooma
Awesome research and presenting it all together so well. How much time did you have to spend just following people? It's awesome how they could have just had the skooma magically appear, but nope they actually had people deliver it weekly and all that. Only to have few people even notice all the details.
Thank you! I think it took 2 weeks to film & edit from memory. Which is waaaay too long for 1 video but I wanted the shots. Getting the skooma drop off at the waterfront was a real pain, for some reason. Tis a minor miracle their characters would traverse the map *mostly* in tact
Funny, because I used the console command to set the Orum gang members crimegold to 10,000,000,000,000 and laugh as they are taken down by the guards. Then I chanced upon the Cannoma Tong duo...I killed then instantly.
I would have to have had a way to do this quest, either busting a smuggling ring entirely and earning a good bit of fame, or choosing to help their operations and earning a cut of the money every week or so in a dead drop at the cost of some serious infamy.
You know, I have been encountering some guys in skyrim, trying to sell skooma. They have been calling me a snitch, and decided to try to kill me using only their fisticuffs. How did the skooma guys get skooma to skyrim I do not know.
fort alessia had a chest with 10 bottles of skooma. took them out of curiosity, never cosumed it, then found out you have to give that toxic stuff to that addict woman on the shivering isles...
I want to know how that interrogation with Vlanarus went on. Hieronimus Lex: "So you say you are the Gray Fox?" Vlanarus: "Indeed, and Tiber Septim reincarnated." L: "Do you take me for a fool?" V: "I am also the child of Stendarr" L: "I have to find the Gray Fox and you're wasting my time!" V: "I'm a were-shark!" L: "Guards, throw him out!. Anything else to add, Vlanarus?" V: "Your mother!"
So... does that one rock just slowly build up skooma over the course of the game or what? Does it disappear or does it just only appear if the player follows the whole process?
They need to remake oblivion. I love the ideas of the npc's having their own lives and needing to eat and all that. I wish they did it the same in skyrim.
the orum gang pisses me off so much that i end up killing every single one of them. so i guess because they're rude as hell i ended the entire skooma trade in the game lol also for another idea, and it might be a stretch, you could look into Unmarked Cave and the Black Queen. it seems like it was all cut content so it may be a dead end but could be interesting

Thank you! I think it took 2 weeks to film & edit from memory. Which is waaaay too long for 1 video but I wanted the shots. Getting the skooma drop off at the waterfront was a real pain, for some reason. Tis a minor miracle their characters would traverse the map *mostly* in tact
@@DarkLOREDash That's some dedication. I suppose if you're following them that leaves them open to attack from beasts and stuff?
Funny, because I used the console command to set the Orum gang members crimegold to 10,000,000,000,000 and laugh as they are taken down by the guards.
Then I chanced upon the Cannoma Tong duo...I killed then instantly.
A very interesting delve. It makes a lot of sense.
Skooma being responable for Oblivion gates sounds like one of the 80 anti drug PSAs
I would have to have had a way to do this quest, either busting a smuggling ring entirely and earning a good bit of fame, or choosing to help their operations and earning a cut of the money every week or so in a dead drop at the cost of some serious infamy.
I feel like im waaaalking on sunshine!
I feel like i can conquer the world!
Insert more towelie lines here because he would love skooma
All your vids are great Bro!
You know, I have been encountering some guys in skyrim, trying to sell skooma. They have been calling me a snitch, and decided to try to kill me using only their fisticuffs. How did the skooma guys get skooma to skyrim I do not know.
Perhaps that was the next deaddrop from Cyrodiil 🤔 will research
there's a vampire group making it tho
Elder Scrolls borrows alot from real history and switches the names of groups and places. The skooma issue seems based on the opium trade in Rome.
Wow, great pick up!
I died laughing when I saw you dark elf character XD sooooo good
fort alessia had a chest with 10 bottles of skooma. took them out of curiosity, never cosumed it, then found out you have to give that toxic stuff to that addict woman on the shivering isles...
The character in the thumbnail looks like he'd rather drink Covfefe than Skooma
The likeness is very good, but those lips are perfect.
3 + 3 + 3 = 15, that math checks out XD
Love this content, Thank you!
I'm looking forward to the day when I can be a skooma addict in an mmo like some sort of opium den online.
Things like these are why I wish they would have rather had all of Oblivion’s cut content added into the game over even the first remaster of Skyrim.
Love me a good skooma history
Good work detective
I want to know how that interrogation with Vlanarus went on.
Hieronimus Lex: "So you say you are the Gray Fox?"
Vlanarus: "Indeed, and Tiber Septim reincarnated."
L: "Do you take me for a fool?"
V: "I am also the child of Stendarr"
L: "I have to find the Gray Fox and you're wasting my time!"
V: "I'm a were-shark!"
L: "Guards, throw him out!. Anything else to add, Vlanarus?"
V: "Your mother!"
Love your channel 😊
... Did anyone else see that thumbnail and wonder “when was Donald Trump in Oblivion?” or is it just me? 😂😂😂
I think this series of movement is in reverse to show where the quest would start and then end.
Sounds like opiate to me..... Milk o the poppy in that era..
i LOVE oblivion lore, secrets! nice video
Me too & thank you!
Thought it came directly from blackwood. You burn down the tree and everything when you infiltrate them
That was hist which sap is different to Skooma. Skooma is concocted from moon sugar & nightshade
@@DarkLOREDash ah gotcha been forever since I've played. Thanks for the correcting response.
this was good well done .
You is the subscribed, just stay subscribed and everything's Mr. Tinker, got me?
Well it certainly isn't me.
This isn't the sort of illegal activity I'm in to.
So... does that one rock just slowly build up skooma over the course of the game or what? Does it disappear or does it just only appear if the player follows the whole process?
Someone should stop the spread of this drug. Well at least they don't know about Neon and Zyme.
They need to remake oblivion. I love the ideas of the npc's having their own lives and needing to eat and all that. I wish they did it the same in skyrim.
100% agree. Was a travesty that they reduced such amazing systems
Simply incredible.
SKOO-MAH!
Damn i want some skooma
I think i have different version of game I've never met Fealian on the street and in the barrel there is only random junk
He only wanders during a dark Brotherhood quest. And the skooma is only in the barrel for a small window of time
@@DarkLOREDash need to check that on next playthrough, your lore videos boost my morale for this game
It's a shame this wasn't a quest.
Hilarious thumbnail 😂
Honestly I would have played helping the skooma trade, Rogues are good at smuggling quests. Just ask Athenril in Kirkwall.
I know a certain khajitt liar who would like this list
the orum gang pisses me off so much that i end up killing every single one of them. so i guess because they're rude as hell i ended the entire skooma trade in the game lol
also for another idea, and it might be a stretch, you could look into Unmarked Cave and the Black Queen. it seems like it was all cut content so it may be a dead end but could be interesting
Remember kids skooma not. Even. once
