    Man the fact that the study on icing was retracted years ago and it’s still what most doctors recommend .. crazy. You were ahead of your time doc !

    But ... what, exactly, does pressure above and below the knee do for the knee?

      vascular compression from up and down circulation ? And when you release the compression, it allows a higher blood flow to come in the injury area ? It's like a blood flow stimulation as ice does it.

      it also holds the tendon in place which decreases pain

      You really have to experience what it feels like to get it, the pressure itself feels good and then when you move it, it feels like it's being stretched in ways it's never moved before.

      Is it painful? You could have knock knees or bow knees. You should look into it

      The sound is unimportant. its all about the pain. 5 out of ten is ok. Does it make it worse, no? then crack on.

    Can you run with this on?

    • @namjun1168
      @namjun1168 5 років тому +2

      would not suggest running with voodoo floss on. generally, shouldn't be on for long periods of time. it acts like a tourniquet so it's restricting blood from flowing to the area you are applying your voodoo floss to.

    I had a trainer do this on my 'bad' knee and it caused serious pain in my calf and major bruising on my shin. I went to a physiotherapist the next day and he said I was lucky I didn't get a blood clot!!! My trainer even tweeted Kelly Starrett about it.

      The creator of icing your injuries said that it doesn't work. In truth, cooling an area stops the inflammation process. The inflammation process is meant to assist in healing, believe it or not. Practitioners and professionals are saying to treat your injuries with light movement (prevents stiffness and increases blood to the muscle), heat (allows the muscle to relax), or compression (restrict blood flow, so when you take it off, there's a rush of nutrients and oxygen for healing). I'm seeing this way late, but hope it helps.
