There is no bleach but hi color is a high lift so it lifts the hair aggressively in order to deposit the vibrant red tone. Hi lift with 40 is just as damaging as bleach with 20 volume when done incorrectly. Both methods done correctly with proper after care will not damage the hair :-)

Just an FYI: Some good protein filler products to add to your coloured/dyed hair care regime (pre & post colour) would be the Colorful Neutral Filler or Colorful Color filler which will also help to even out your colour and also comes in other colours including red and, Roux's porosity control corrector and conditioner.

My hair isn't very long but I start at the tips and end at the root because the heat from your scalp makes it lighten quicker. Thus if you start at the tips you can get a more even tone down to the root. I'm not a professional but I'm a color addict and I generally have no more than 3 inches of hair because I keep it short..... just a frame of reference.

What my beautician did for my red hair (LOL my aunt) was color my hair blonde first which caused her to not have to use bleach used developer & then colored it red with Adore's Crimson (i believe)...Your color came out super cute tho! & HEARD sis with the lip tube of Vaseline lol get it how you live ma!

Always start from the bottom then the top..... start with the back section of your head first. The hair process quicker at the roots that’s why her end are still dark. The hair in the front of your head is also much thinner then the back of your head.
Nice job it reminded me of when I first dyed mines red, used the same brand dye. I also ran out of product so I had to go back and my hair is long and thick but I didn't use the copper color, all in looks great take care of it.

FYI, just so you all know, when something like this works "without bleach" and it doesnt necessarily mean that its healthier for your hair because you dont have to lighten the hair. All that really m eans is there otherchemicals in the dye that blow up the cuticle to allow the dye to penetrate and strip the hair,it just isnt bleach. The same goes for commerical dyes that say they dont have ammonia in them. Theres just another chemical in place that per orms the same way because there has to be an additive of some sort in the product that induces the rising of the cuticle. Mind you, this girl here has virgin hair, never processed with color, so also take that into consideration.

Wait a minute she used a 40 developer. When using developer which is really hydrogen peroxide, the peroxide causes the hair shaft to swell and open. 40 volumes are occasionally used to lighten very dark, stubborn hair as part of the bleaching process. It lightens quickly, and its effects are harsher than lower concentrations. 40 volumes are not recommended for on-the-scalp use. Using 40 volume developer can cause hair damage and chemical burns if not used correctly. Make sure you do a deep conditioner I love the color.
It has bleach in it lol if you smell it . You just don’t have to pre lighten it . I’ve been using that hair color for 3 years it definitely contains bleach

There is bleach in that product! That is why it is a highlight! But good mixture of color. Next time, try just copper or blonde and cover it with Express Crimson.

a developer is a peroxide based color stripper so it has the same effect at a bleach but with a higher alkaline level
