How I Dye My Natural Hair Red!

- Here are all the details on my red hair color! As you'll hear me explain, the first time I dyed my hair red I went a deep wine, burgundy color (you can see pics of this color in my previous video, my natural hair color story). Adore Semi-Permanent Dye in 68 Crimson, 82 Pink Rose, and 186 Rich Eggplant
AT-HOME HAIR COLOR TIPS:
1. put down towels! Dyeing your hair ALWAYS gets messy and can stain clothes, walls, and bathroom tiles! If dye does get anywhere, get to it quickly!
2. wear an old t-shirt you don't care about messing up. Save it and wear it every time you touch up your color.
3. rub coconut oil or vaseline around your hairline, ears, and neck to avoid or reduce staining on the skin
4. apply your dye in sections, and split those sections into smaller sub-sections to make sure the dye reaches and penetrates every single strand. This will eliminate a patchy, blotchy dye-job.

Another tip to prevent bleeding, use a protein filler prior to applying any type of semi permanent or rinse to the hair that way the color molecules have something to adhere to and when you rinse the hair use cool water and acv to close the cuticle.

Why ACV rinse ?
In order to get this bright red on black hair...you have to use something to lighten first...or else u get like a rinse effect....I tried numerous times I never got that result until I lighten my hair first....a lot of UA-cam's keep saying no bleach ...which I believed but no....u do have to lighten dark hair first
Right I tried it and it just turn my scalp red.

This is perfect. Love this color result. I colored my hair violet and needed tips for coloring my hair a deep red. Love love love this result. Will try adding the red on top of my current bright purple hair hoping to get something similar to your results. We shall see.
Hey! I'm glad you found it helpful, but if you're trying to get the deep red I still suggest applying a color mixture onto your purple hair. If you just apply a red on top as is, it might not work! Let me know how it works!

Did you bleach the ends the last time you colored? The old red looks like it was on bleached hair...which makes the new red go in easier right?

Would you recommend bleaching first or would we get similar results without it?
hi! I would definitely recommend bleaching or lightening your hair first, if it's a very dark color. This is a semi-permanent dye so basically it will only stain your hair if it's already been lightened, but it will not chemically alter the color of your hair. I also suggest going to a professional if you plan on bleaching your hair because it can be extremely damaging! Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

What are the shampoo and conditioner you uses
question how does that color feel on your natural hair... like did your hair feel brittle or did it feel like the rest of your unexplored hair... I never colored my own hair I always went to the shop. But I wanted to start coloring my own hair and just deciding on what brand is best. and does it rinse out often when u wash your hair because the color that they use at the shop doesn't wash out
How do you prevent bleeding when you wash your hair
Is it possible to dye your hair ends whilst it's I plat and curls without loosing it out...cause that's what I want to do
I noticed that you didn't use Heat I seen on the directions that you were we're supposed to use heat to activate the color. I did it with my hair dryer for 20 minutes and I did magenta I did it twice to get it more drastic so you don't have to use Heat?

Your channel is great. I love it. I was wondering what shampoos and conditioners do you use when you wash out your dyes and do you sit under the dryer during any of this process? I'm naturally black with a ton of gray and I want to go burgundy or red, but I think you said it's best to lighten the hair first before going red or burgundy. Can you please advise before I go crazy on my hair. Thanks.
thanks so much for the support! I love the Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisture Shampoo--that's my go-to. But I also like the TGIN sulfate-free shampoo. I stick to sulfate free. As for conditioner, I usually use Aussie Moist but I switch those up way more often than my shampoos. And I don't sit under a dryer when I use my semi-permanent dyes because I don't find it's necessary! Hope this helps!

Would this work on bleached hair? cause I've bleached it and I was like damn it I should've leave it and dye it with the with crimson mixed with rich eggplant . But now i know next time for sure🤦🏾♀️

Hey I love your channel and looking for.some tips....I dyed my hair purple using Adore Rich Eggplant and i had to bleach it to get desired color and now I want to transition to red hair. Do I need to bleach it again to strip the color???
I think re-bleaching would be too damaging and not worth the risk, personally. If I were you I would let the purple fade out as much as possible. Sulfate shampoos might help strip some extra color and there's a product called Color Oops that I BELIEVE helps remove unwanted color from hair. You could try that and then when the purple is faded enough, just put the red on top! Hope it works! Good luck!

I’ve never dyed my hair before and was thinking of dying my hair with adore Royal Navy dye (178). I did a lot of research but many people used different methods on natural dark hair using the adore hair dye. Should I use developer with the hair dye or could I just place the dye onto my hair?

Thanks for the video! I saw you didn’t use heat. The back of the bottle said to process with heat For 15mins. Do you think it would make the color last longer?
