We have come to a crossroads in life which we explain. We spend time at home for the first time in 2 years, Sue attends our annual hockey get together and we both tackle the garden and 2 years worth of weeds!
This is episode 124 in a series of videos cataloguing our post retirement adventures. We are Kath and Sue and we are travelling the UK with our two dogs Archie and Fudge and living full time in our Burstner Elegance Motorhome. We have given up conventional living for a new van-life, enjoying the freedom of the road and plenty of time outdoors taking in the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer.

Change is always a bit unnerving I think but as you say, you know what’s important to you both. You have each other, Archie & Fudge and are having a lovely time, you seem fit and well and so are doing the thing money can’t buy-enjoying your lives. Whatever form that takes in the future it’s important to try to continue to value those things you’ve learnt to value the most over the years isn’t it?? I know that valuing and appreciating Anne & Sasha and that our boys are happy and well is the most important thing I do and feeling torn to bits about responsibilities towards towards a poorly parent is impeding a quality of life that would be better for my health if I could live it differently!…. Enjoy yourselves whatever you decide. What a beautiful river! Scarily high waters though, my goodness.

Sorry to hear you have a poorly parent. The feelings of being torn are really hard to deal with. Trying to get the balance right is probably the hardest thing in life. Hope you do manage some ‘me time’ in amongst responsibilities. Take care. 🙏🤣🚌❤️
My wife and I know how you feel ,being out and walking is a great thing appreciating the country side materialistic things then don’t matter.i would not give up a base to come home to,down size if needs be😊👏👏👏
Yes there is so much to consider. We don’t necessarily need to downsize but living full time in our Motorhome for the last 2 years has taught us that we don’t need as much space so we will definitely go for something smaller in the future, just not sure when that will be. 🙏🤗🚌❤️

Thank you. I’m sure we will work out what’s best to do. For now Dan is still there but I suspect his move will happen fairly quickly. Just can’t imagine not travelling full time. We love it so much. Especially now as the sun has made an appearance again. 🌞. 🙏🚌❤️

@@wanderingbychoice was it the big dark grey ones? If so they were provided by the campsite just for the duration of our stay as they had had lots of rain in the days before the weekend. We do have some very small ones which I carry but they were just from Amazon. They are ok but not if it’s really soggy. If you do end up running a CS/CL then we will definitely be a customer. 👍🤣

It’s a tricky one …Covid didn’t help our decision but we at least managed to get home and have a relatively soft landing rather than uncertainty . I guess your house has the potential to be that soft landing . It was weird adjusting back to a house after 2 years living so simply in our van. You’re so right about why you realise it’s important and it’s deffo not stuff ! I’m sure you’ll both make the right decision for you xx

The little power bank looks good so I have bought one like you we us os maps on out phone when we walk as well as a paper map it’s going to be peace of mind we can charge our phone up whilst out and about. I hope you make the right decision for you both only you can do this but I hope we still see you channel what ever you decide x

Could you make your lovely house an Airbnb? It could finance your travels and still be a bolthole when you need one.
Can you charge the powerbank from a car 'cigarette lighter'?
Hi and thank you for joining us. Airbnb is definitely one of the options to consider and does have some advantages. One of the things we are exploring. I haven’t specifically tested the power bank being charged from a cigarette lighter but as long as you had a USB-C adapter then I don’t see why not as both the USB -C ports are input and output. 🤗🙏🚌❤️
Enjoyed your video lovely home and area to live however you struck a cord when you made reference to stuff how much do you actually need we are two months in living in our Motorhome working part time on a campsite site and renting out our home and are already starting to think do we need all our stuff 🤔 we’re a long way behind you guys who knows what will happen 👍

We're at the point in our lives that we either pack up and go or stay where we are and die.
I've an inoperable heart condition and have had for 12 years, so we've decided to pack our gear, put it in storage, and head off.
We rent a property so we can go quite easily ( just have to decide what to do with 26 years of accumulated stuff)
We're looking for a motorhome at the moment to replace our much loved van conversion we call Reggie Renault, but there's an awful load of overpriced garbage out there.

Ps, I love your sons GSD. we definitely plan on having another one in the future.
