This Van camp video was fun to watch. To heck with the weather. .. let it rain! So it was extra special to watch this episode where, for once, you took a break, kicked back and enjoyed an overnight that was cozy, warm and dry with inside gas cooking, a DVD movie and a comfortable sleep! With lardons or streaky bacon you'll get a better result with the bacon in a cold pan, no oil, a low initial heat, turning up later to crisp, if required. That way what is rendered is pure bacon flavour. Goes for both your 'carbonara' and the pancake.
